Ever wonder how Fran Drescher became famous? Turns out the actress was abducted by aliens when she was in junior high and had a chip planted in her.

Drescher believes that she was abducted by aliens when she was a teenager. The chip that the aliens planted in her apparently programmed her to meet Peter Marc Jacobson, her ex-husband.

But the aliens weren’t trying to help Drescher find love. They just wanted to give her the inspiration she needed to create her new show “Happily Divorced.”

Drescher told the Huffington Post:

“You know, it’s funny because Peter and I both saw [aliens] before we knew each other, doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads. We were both in junior high…. We realized that we had the same experience. I think that somehow we were programmed to meet… We both have this scar. It’s the exact same scar on the exact same spot.”

Jacobson hasn’t said if he believes in aliens or not, but he did say that Drescher probably got her scar from a hot beverage. Drescher, however, has an explanation for that.

“That’s what the aliens programmed us to think. But really, that’s where the chip is.”

Demi Moore’s visit to the hospital following a seizure is now believed to have been caused after the 49-year-old actress inhaled an overdose amount of nitrous oxide from “whip-it” shots, a popular high among teens and college students.

According to inside sources one of Demi Moore’s friends grew concerned when she began “shaking” and “acting like she was suffering from a seizure, that friend tells E! News that she called 911 after realizing the situation was growing worse.

Whip-it’s are often taken from whipped cream cannisters although it’s still not clear if that is how Demi Moore inhaled the nitrous oxide.

People points out that Moore’s recent history with substance abuse has been pointed to as one of the reasons her marriage to Ashton Kutcher may have fallen apart, a source speaking to the magazine notes:

“He wanted her to take care of herself and get a hold of things, and she wouldn’t.”

That same source goes on to point out that her family and friends have called her a “mess” and have begged her to get the help she needs.

Just take a look at the photo posted on this page and it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Demi Moore and her stick figure of a left over body has been engaging pretty heavily in substance abuse.

Garth Brooks was awarded $1 million on Tuesday after a court found that an Oklahoma hospital failed to live up to an agreement they reached with the singer in 2005.

In that year Garth Brooks donated $500,000 to the hospital with the understanding that the money would be used to construct a women’s health center that would bare his mother’s name. Later Brooks found out that the hospital planned to use the money for other projects.

A jury found IntegrisCanadian Valley Regional Hospital in breach-of-contract and ordered that they return the original $500,000 and pay Garth Brooks an additional $500,000 in punitive damages.

In tearful testimony in which he talked about his mother Colleen Brooks and her death from cancer in 1999 Brooks said hospital president James Moore initially offered to name an intensive care unit after Mrs. Brooks however Garth felt that it didn’t honor what she was about. It wasn’t until the women’s health center was suggested that Brooks said he made the donation.

“I jumped all over it,” Brooks told jurors. “It’s my mom. My mom was pregnant as a teenager. She had a rough start. She wanted to help every kid out there.”

Hospital officials in the meantime have argued that Brooks provided the money with unrestricted access and only later asked that the money be used to name a building after his mom.

Lauren Conrad has come a long way since her days on “Laguna Beach.” The MTV reality star has already started her own beauty website, she’s the face of the Paper Crown fashion line, and now she’s going green with her latest endeavor, an eco-friendly lifestyle product line.

MTV reports that Conrad teamed up with BlueAvocado, a sustainable lifestyle products company, to create her own eco-friendly line of products. LC’s new line will include cosmetic accessories, as well as home and travel products. Conrad said:

“The BlueAvocado partnership represents a synergy of things I love to do—design great products, enable women to realize their dreams, and inspire thoughtful action…. Once you realize the responsibility we have to improve our environment in our lifetime, you feel compelled to act with urgency. BlueAvocado provides a canvas for me to invite change.”

BlueAvocado writes:

“Lauren Conrad has joined BlueAvocado as an investor and lead designer inviting thousands to join her on her green journey. Debuting in Summer 2012, Lauren Conrad will design her own eco-collection for BlueAvocado, which will include stylish prints and new lifestyle products including reusable lunch, shopping, hydration, home storage, travel, and cosmetic accessories.”

Conrad’s new business venture isn’t the only thing that Conrad fans are talking about today. The reality star also sent out a few interesting tweets recently. Here’s a picture of a little Lauren Conrad scowling on a Monday morning.

Conrad said: “Found this photo of me on my first day of kindergarten… 20 years later my feelings about Monday mornings remain the same. ”

Heidi Klum and Seal are not headed for splitsville just yet if a source close to the couple is correct. According to that source in an interview with People, ”They’ve been fighting a lot lately, but they have no plans to announce a split right now,” while adding in no uncertain terms “They’re not divorcing.”

It’s believed that the couple’s relationship has been most strongly tested in the last several months as Seal has been busing touring in support of his new album Soul 2. The singer was in New York one moment where he was promoting the album on Late Show with David Letterman and then jet setting the next moment to London for further promotional opportunities.

The source says that since they have been at home together over the weekend they have been doing much better and both Heidi Klum and seal were seen to be wearing their wedding bands.

While the couple appear to be happy for the moment Seal will soon be off on the talk show circuit once again when he visits The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Tavis Smiley. While those shows all tape around the Los Angeles area it will be Heidi Klum taking off this week when she heads to Germany for work on the seventh season of Germany’s Next Top Model.

Rashida Jones was a little nervous during the premiere of “Celeste and Jesse Forever.” Jones is used to the spotlight thanks to her famous father, Quincy Jones, and her success on “Parks and Recreations,” but “Celeste” was her screenwriting debut.

Rashida watched the premiere with her writing partner, Will McCormack. Jones told USA Today:

“That was like an extra-terrestrial experience. We were just bugging out at the screening…. I felt everything — literally the whole spectrum of feelings. It felt 8½ hours long. It’s not, it’s short. But it was 8½ hours in the way that I was wanting to feel what everybody was feeling and thinking.”

McCormack added:

“We were doing deep breathing exercises.”

Rashida also stars in “Celeste and Jesse Forever” along with Andy Samberg. The two play high school lovers who are now going through a divorce.

Jones said that script was relatively easy to write due to her acting experience. Jones told the Washington Post:

“It also came from, as an actress, reading so many scripts, you kind of intrinsically absorb storytelling script structure into your being without even knowing it, and we wanted to try and tell this story.”

That built-in script writing may not be much of an advantage, however. The Hollywood Reporter writes that “Celeste and Jesse Forever” is a formulaic rom-com. The review was positive overall, but John DeFore writes:

“Borrows tropes from the rom-com playbook, and has enough laughs to be mistaken for one, but ultimately doesn’t want to be pigeonholed.”

Kathy Griffin caught everyone by surprise when she stripped down during CNN’s New Year’s Eve countdown broadcast from Times Square, and now she’s done it again. Recalling the “event” on The Late Show, Griffin decided to recreate the scene and stripped down for David Letterman.

“You know, it went well for me,” Griffin told Letterman of the stunt before stripping. “Every year I try to up the ante a little bit. I’ve done it for five years now and I’ve been fired four years in a row…One year I said the f-word so I had to give the money back.”

“I didn’t want to get fired,” she continued. “So this year I thought, ‘What can I do to not get canned?’ I thought it would be appropriate in Times Square to create a moment, so I took my clothes off. I didn’t tell anyone, I didn’t tell Anderson.”

After showing the clip, Griffin threatened to strip down in front of the Late Show audience, and .. well, Letterman gave her the go-ahead.

“Go ahead. Wow, this is nice,” Letterman replied, apparently eager to accomodate Griffin. “Is there anything I can do? I don’t think I should…Wow, oh my, oh buddy. We’re gonna need some pliers.”

Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers is about to spend $8.5 million, that money will go towards purchase the Bel Air mansion currently owned by pop singer Avril Lavigne.

Originally listed for $9.5 million Paul is said to have fell in love with the 12,184 square foot mansion the moment he saw it. And what isn’t to love about a home that includes 8 bedrooms, 10 1/2 bathrooms, a 10-car garage, gym, sauna, wine cellar and even a covered outdoor living room.

Closing the deal are a bunch of people including real estate broker Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker, Ikem Chukumerije of SportsRelocation.com and various reps for Chris Paul.

The mansion is a popular hotspot among the younger rich Hollywood types, before Avril Lavigne owned the home it was lived in by now divorced couple Travis Barker (Blink-182) and Shanna Moakler. The home was featured on Barker’s MTV reality show “Meet the Barkers.”

In terms of paying for the home, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a cash transaction, after all Chris Paul is currently in year 3 of a 4 year $68,000 contract and that doesn’t include any endorsements or bonuses he may have earned over that same period of time.

Hopefully the home brings Chris Paul more luck than the last two couple’s who lived in it, those relationships both ended and the evil house of breakups kept getting put immediately back on the market.

According to a report by the New York Post, Eddie Brill, who served as David Letterman’s comedy booker on The Late Show, has been fired as a result of his comments in a recent profile by the New York Times, in which he said: “There are a lot less female comics who are authentic. I see a lot of female comics who, to please an audience, will act like men.”

Brill, who held his position as booker for The Late Show for 10 years, will reportedly still be involved in the show as a “warm up” for the studio audience ahead of the telecast. The Post reports that Brill’s now-vacant position will be filled in by a small group of producers.

Brill’s comments were perceived by some to be an attack on the idea that female comics are just as funny as men, but not everyone thinks the comments should have been taken so seriously, including stand-up comedian Lisa Lampanelli.

“I was really surprised and unhappy about that,” Lampanelli commented to the Post. “It’s funny how you can get fired for an opinion. He should be allowed to say what he wants.”

David Letterman comedy booker fired for saying female comics aren’t ‘authentic’ is a post from: The Inquisitr

Garth Brooks is suing an Oklahoma hospital to get his $500,000 donation back after the hospital refused to name a building after Brooks’ late mother.

Brooks made the six-figure donation to Canadian Valley Regional Hospital back in 2009. The country singer claims that he made the donation under the belief that at least part of the facility would be named after his mother, and when the hospital refused to do so Brooks chose to sue.

“Unfortunately, talks broke down or did not continue or Mr. Brooks was not satisfied with the options we were offering, and that’s when he decided to sue,” hospital spokesman Hardy Watkins said Tuesday before the trial began (via AP).

Brooks’ lawsuit claims that hospital officials showed the singer mock-up buildings bearing the name of his late mother, who died of cancer in 1999, and subsequently told him that his $500,000 donation was earmarked for such a project.

Watkins noted that the entirety of Brooks’ donation remains unspent in a hospital account, and that the “hospital followed all IRS guidelines governing donor giving.”

“We certainly recognize Mr. Brooks is an amazing ambassador for Oklahoma, and a very accomplished star in his own right,” he said. “We certainly wish it did not have to come to this.”
