Mark Owen got married yesterday November 8.

The Take That singer wed long-term partner Emma Ferguson, ,with who he has two children, Elwood, three, and Willow, 11 months – in a ceremony at Cawdor church in the Scottish Highlands that was attended by his bandmates Gary Barlow, Jason Orange and Howard Donald.

However, despite recent speculation, former group member Robbie Williams failed to attend the church service and was not believed to have been at the reception, held at nearby Cawdor Castle.

The village of Cawdor was said to be awash with excitement at the celebrity wedding day, with fans lining the streets for hours to catch a glimpse of the singer and his bride.

However, many were left disappointed as the couple exited the church and walked through an archway made by the wedding party which hid them from the view of the gathered crowd after the ceremony.

Elaine Brown, who was among more than 500 fans waiting outside the church, said: “They didn’t even let us see the happy couple. I know it’s their special day but they could have let us have a glimpse.”

Actress Emma, who has been engaged to the ‘Greatest Day’ singer since 2006, kept the groom waiting for 25 minutes, arriving at the church at 4.55pm.

Following the church service, Mark and Emma were taken to their reception by a vintage Volkswagen camper van. The couple reportedly chose the location for the wedding as they have had many happy holidays in the area. The wedding had reportedly been in the planning for two years.

Take That were expected to sing together at the wedding, with Mark posting on his website: “No doubt once the boys have had a few drinks we will get into song.”

Gwyneth Paltrow is to play Nicole Kidman’s wife.

The ‘Iron Man’ actress has signed on to replace Charlize Theron in ‘The Danish Girl’, an adaptation of a novel about the first post-operative transsexual.

The film follows Danish artists Einar and Greta Wegener who found success after Einar stood in for a female model that Greta was set to paint. As their work gained popularity, Greta encouraged her husband to continue to adopt a female guise.

This eventually led to Einar undergoing a sex change operation in 1931, shocking the world and threatening their marriage.

Anand Turker is set to direct the film, which screenwriter Lucinda Coxon is adapting from David Ebershoff’s novel of the same name.

Nicole previously won an Oscar for playing a lesbian in ‘The Hours’, while Gwyneth saw her character in ‘Shakespeare In Love’ disguise herself as a man in order to fulfil her acting dreams.

Last week, Nicole said she actively sought out “extreme” film choices and explored all aspects of love, sex and marriage.

She said, “In the end I hope my life will be a mix of extreme love and bold artistic choices. I’ve never wanted to be safe. I’ve never chosen safe relationships. And I’ve never chosen safe films.”

Taylor Swift performed a song about her “douche-bag” ex-boyfriends on Saturday November 7.

The ‘Love Story’ singer hosted US TV show ‘Saturday Night Live’ where she performed a quirky song about getting revenge on her former beaus and her love for her current boyfriend, actor Taylor Lautner.

She sang, “I like writing songs about douche-bags who cheat on me / But I’m not going to say that in my monologue / I like writing their names into songs so they’re ashamed to go out in public / But I’m not going to say that in my monologue.”

The blonde beauty, who split from Disney singer-and-actor Joe Jonas, 20, last November, used her appearance on the popular weekend show to brag to her ex-boyfriend about her growing success.

She sang, “You might think I’d bring up Joe Jonas, that guy who broke up with me on the phone / But I’m not gonna mention him in my monologue.

“Hey Joe, I’m doing real well. Tonight, I’m hosting SNL. / But I’m not gonna brag about that in my monologue. La la la. Ha ha ha.”

The 19-year-old songstress has been dating ‘Twilight’ actor Taylor Lautner over the past few months.

Although they have not been together long, Taylor used the opportunity to declare her love for the 17-year-old hunk.

She mouthed, ‘Hi Taylor’, before blowing a kiss and winking at the camera and singing, “And if you’re wondering if I might be dating the werewolf from ‘Twilight’ / I’m not gonna comment on that in my monologue.”

The teenage singing sensation also used the evening to speak about Kanye West’s behavior at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in August.

Singer Kanye stormed the stage, interrupted her acceptance speech for Best Female Video and told the audience he thought Beyonce Knowles should have been given the honor instead.

Taylor quipped, “You might be expecting me to say something bad about Kanye and how he ran up on the stage and ruined my VMA monologue / But there’s nothing more to say / ’cause everything’s okay / I’ve got security lining the stage.”

John Mayer has defended Britney Spears for lip synching in Australia.

The ‘Gravity’ singer, who is also in Australia promoting his latest album, blasted fans who had called for a refund after the ‘Womanizer’ star’s show in Perth after she sparked outrage by not singing live for her whole performance.

John wrote on his twitter blog, “If you’re shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you.”

Britney, 27, was said to have hid in her hotel room on Saturday, November 7, following her performance on Friday night November 6.

A representative for the star said, “Britney is aware of all this and she’s extremely upset by it.”

In response to the show fans protested about the high ticket prices and “impersonal” nature of the show.

Concertgoer Wendy Di Renzo, 36, said, “It was so impersonal. She did not interact with her audience. There were no big TV screens projecting the action, so if you didn’t know Britney, you might have even doubted it was her.”

Complaints against the ‘Gimme More’ singer also included that she never referred to Perth by name, instead giving a generic welcome to fans, saying, “What’s up Australia?”

Another fan, who left the show early, said, “I want my money back or I want her to sing properly. The ticket cost me $200 and she lip-synched the whole thing.”

Politicians in three Australian states – Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales – have now called for new laws to force music promoters to disclose whether a concert will be live or lip-synched beforehand.

Britney will next perform in Melbourne on November 11.

Robert Pattinson isn’t brave enough to be romantic.

The ‘Twilight’ actor, who is rumored to have an on/off relationship with his co-star Kristin Stewart, says he struggles to impress women he has a crush on because he is too nervous about making a loving gesture.

The 23-year-old heartthrob said, “I can’t think of a single romantic thing that I’ve ever done.

“I would never serenade someone to be romantic, you have to have so much balls to do that.

“I put a flower in someone’s locker when I was 15 years old, this girl called Maria. She thought that it was someone else and the other guy claimed it as well, which is great.”

Despite his hopeless ways, the actor says he still has an appreciation for romance, insisting it isn’t only girls who like it.

He said, “It’s like saying guys can’t appreciate romance. I’ve watched ‘Titanic ‘and I didn’t think, ‘Oh, this is a girl’s film.”

The actor also admitted he has an obsessive streak and refuses to take advice from anyone.

He told America’s People magazine, “I have very, very specific ideas about how I want to do my work and how I want to be perceived, to the point of ridiculousness sometimes.

“I don’t listen to anyone else. That’s why I don’t have a publicist, I can’t stand it if someone’s trying to tell me to do something which might be a mistake.”

Russell Brand feels “fulfilled” by Katy Perry.

The British comedian insists he has never been happier than in his current relationship with the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer and has helped him put his womanizing ways behind him.

Russell, 34, said, “I’ve been really happy in the last couple of months. All I know is that I have met someone who I like and makes me happy. I am very much fulfilled.

“Having met Katy she has certainly been a catalyst in changing my life but I have been changing my life for myself first and foremost, because it’s a better way for me to be living at this time.”

Russell, who has previously battled heroin addiction, says things are going so well with the 25-year-old singer he has even met her pastor parents, who have previously expressed shock at her romance, but insists their meeting was a success.

He said, “I’ve had the privilege of meeting Katy’s family. I always get along with spiritual people. For me the things that happen on a higher level are more important that transient things.”

Russell also said he was happy to curtail his famously varied sex life while with Katy.

He explained, “When one is in a relationship one respects the restrictions that imposes. That’s the point of being in a relationship.”

Madonna is “on edge” about meeting her boyfriend’s parents.

The ‘Celebration’ singer is set to fly to Brazil to meet her 23-year-old boyfriend Jesus Luz’s mother Cristiane Regina da Silva and his father Luis Heitor Pinto da Luz, sparking rumors the celebrity couple are about to get engaged.

A friend of model Jesus said, “She is slightly on edge. But an engagement could be on the cards.”

Jesus, who has been dating the pop star since late last year, is desperate to be “taken seriously”, get married and secure their relationship.

The pal added, “Madonna really does love and need Jesus – and she does not hold all the power in their relationship. He grew up with strong Christian beliefs.

“He wants to marry and be taken seriously. She doesn’t want to lose Jesus and so the visit to his parents is her way of saying she will make this relationship permanent.

“He wants proof of commitment and he wants her to make an honest man of him.”

The meetings proves the pair have put their recent disagreement behind them.

The couple reportedly rowed after Madonna, who has children Lourdes, 12, Rocco, nine, David Banda and Mercy, both four – said she would rather be “run over by a train” than marry again following her split from movie director Guy Ritchie, with the model begging his 51-year-old love to rethink her vow.

According to the singer’s biographer Randy Taraborrelli, she has already had a change of heart.

He said, “Madonna is telling close friends and family that ‘I definitely see myself marrying him. It’s on the table’.”

If the nuptials go ahead, this will be Madonna’s third wedding. She was also wed to actor Sean Penn between 1985 and 1989.

Robert Pattinson says being English means he doesn’t have to worry too much about his looks.

The ‘Twilight’ heartthrob claims there’s less pressure on him than his US counterparts to have a perfect appearance because British people are renowned for their bad teeth.

He said, “I just wanted to make an American film, and I wanted to be relatively good in it. I have never pushed to do anything. As soon as you start going to the gym every day and try to look like a movie star, you’re going down a worrisome track. Being an English guy you get a lot more breaks. You’re allowed to look a little worse. It’s that thing about English teeth. Although Canadian teeth are pretty bad as well!”

Robert, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ franchise, also admits he finds it difficult to cope with his worldwide fame.

He told Britain’s Sunday Times magazine, “It worries me, because the whole ‘Twilight’ thing keeps getting bigger and bigger, and now it’s so big that even my own ego can’t deal with it. A certain amount of success you can mentally deal with, but there’s a point where you think, ‘Jesus Christ, what is this? I’m not that great!’ “

A clip is making the rounds today, an out-take of Family Guy: Seth & Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show.

One constant criticism Family Guy runs up against is its heavy reliance on nonsequitor cracks (a whole episode of South Park called them out on that very thing) and the predilection for offensive jokes over clever jokes. This clip shows Alex Borstein (the voice of Lois) launching into a sendup for the third time of deaf actress Marlee Matlin. Borstein launches into a version of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face as Matlin, hammily feeling up the piano to confirm the player is still playing.

In the middle of the song, a comically enraged Matlin Kanye-Wests the proceedings and injects her own series of cracks about Borstein’s weight, gait, fondness for Oreos and apparent lack of movie roles. Seth McFarlane giggled like a schoolgirl in the background. And everyone in the audience felt a little bit better about laughing at a deaf woman’s speech impediment.

For her part, Marlee insists both on camera and off that she’d love to participate in the send ups using her actual own voice. For the onstage version, Borstein asserts, “I swear, Miss Matlin, we did, we called- but the phone just rang… and rang…”

Robert De Niro thinks actors become famous too early.

The 66-year-old actor believes his struggle to find success in his early career has kept him grounded and feels modern stars need time to find their feet.

He explained, “I think it’s important to have had at least a few years of obscurity, where people treat you like everybody else. Then it goes crazy, and all of a sudden people behave differently toward you, they’re agreeing with you all the time, they’re not telling you no.

“I had some regular life behind me. It anchored me, going into the future.”

The veteran actor doesn’t mind being a role model for other aspiring Hollywood stars because he believes he has enough life experience to give good advice.

He said, “I don’t mind giving advice. I’ve had more experience, just by virtue of being alive longer, so I don’t mind doing that – if people ask. I don’t want to be preachy.”

But the star admitted that he was so convinced he would be a star that he never thought about a back-up career.

He added to Parade magazine, “I didn’t have a Plan B. I never quite got to the point of needing one. I did one thing, then the next. I was able to sustain myself.”
