Dakota Fanning New Moon poster a fake

new-moon-poster-dakota-fanning

A New Moon poster featuring Dakota Fanning that’s making the rounds over the past couple days was created by a fan. The poster is not an official New Moon promo release.

Several sites have been circulating the New Moon poster featuring Dakota Fanning. Some claim the poster is authentic and some sites aren’t too sure, so the Inquisitr did a bit of digging and we found a Twilight fan site, TwilightMania.com that had published the New Moon poster on March 21, 2009.

The post at TwilightMania.com praised the artist, saying: “The Twilight Examiner posted this on their site. Wish I new who the creator of the poster was so I could give them credit! A new fan-made poster of Jane in New Moon really gives us an idea of how Dakota Fanning might look when portraying the part.”

After the initial post, a commenter on the site came forward as the creator and linked to it at his Deviantart.com account. The original New Moon poster featuring Dakota Fanning has since been removed from the site.

Kate Gosselin bodyguards & paparazzi fight outside NY photoshoot

kate-gosselin-kids-photoshoot

Kate Gosselin and her brood of 8 kids attended a TLC photoshoot Saturday in New York and while they were leaving, a scuffle broke out between paparazzi photographers and Kate’s security guards.

As Kate Gosselin and her kids left the location of the photo shoot in New York, paparazzi photographers followed them and started getting too close to the kids. They were warned several times to keep their distance but they persisted. While security guards tried to block the paparazzi with umbrellas, folding tables and other objects, Kate and her entourage wisked the kids out of harms way and into their hotel.

There’s no word on whether anyone was injured during the melee, but a witnesses at the scene told People.com that it was a frightening experience and the kids were terrified.

Jon Gosselin, Kate’s estranged husband, was not present when the scuffle occurred.

Is there finally light at the end of the dark music industry tunnel?

legal-300

The music industry in general likes to paint all young music listeners as nothing more than downloading pirates out to destroy the music business as we know it. They have been labeled as the killers of the album (CD) format instead being more inclined to cherry pick their favorite songs to download. This opinion though could actually be far from the truth if there is any truth in some research conducted by The Leading Question, a media agency, and Music Ally, a digital music consultancy.

The research is the results of questioning 2,000 music fans about their listening and buying habits. Interestingly enough it found that among teenagers – 66% – there is a stronger preference for downloading CDs rather than just singles. Most striking though was the finding that the percentage of people getting their music via file-sharing – aka piracy – has fallen from 22% to 17%. Even more astonishing according to the research is that among the 14 – 18 year old demographic the fall has been even greater decline going from 42% to just 26%.

The conclusion drawn by the researchers is that habits amongst those digitally aware consumers who don’t buy CDs are changing - they’re moving from downloading illegally to streaming legally.

They’re still not paying for online music then, but at least they’re using legitimate services. And here in the UK, it’s one business, Spotify, which is getting a lot of the credit for that change.

As the post pointed out – the industry bosses think they’ve finally started coming up with services that just might convert pirates into legal consumers – the problem is finding ways to pay for those new ways and services.

Paula Abdul likely leaving American Idol

paula-abdul
After months of speculation former singer Paula Abdul may be leaving American Idol, although not on her own terms.

David Sonenberg, Paula’s manager, is reported to have told The Times that despite Paula wanting to return to the show there has been no new contract offered to her by Idol producers FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment.

“Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol’,” Sonenbe said in a statement. “I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”

Co-host Randy Jackson is on contract until 2011, Simon Cowell has one year left on his contract, and Ryan Seacrest is reported to have signed a new contract for a staggering $45 million. The show recruited new judge Kara DioGuardi last season, and after a year of four judges the rumor mill has strongly speculated that one would go. A similar attempt to use four judges on the Australian version of the show “Australia Idol” resulted in a cut to three after one season in 2007.

Daniel Radcliffe’s parents still do his washing

19-year-old ‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe loves the freedom of living alone, but is relieved to live close enough to his family for them to do his chores.

He said: “I’m living in south west London. It’s lovely. It’s a slightly rude awakening, like, ‘Oh my God! I’ve got to do so much more for myself.’ Got to do the washing. But I still live close to my parents and take it round there sometimes.”

The actor also branded the attention he gets from girls “ridiculous”, insisting his fans are interested in his famous wizard character, rather than himself.

He told Time Out magazine: “You laugh off a lot of the attention. You have to dismiss it as being ridiculous. And realise they’re not there for you, they’re there because you play this character. If I play another role, there won’t be 5,000 people to greet me at an airport. It’s Harry more than me.”

“It’s only when you start to believe you’re as good as they think you are that things go badly wrong.’

Daniel is currently filming the seventh and eighth movies in the franchise, but doesn’t think he has been typecast by the character. He added to Britain’s Time Out magazine: “A lot of people will be generous and open-minded enough to see me as other people. But I think that to a lot of people I will always be Harry.

“However, there’s one thing that might work in my favour, and that’s that I’m still going to change so much, I hope. You know, people say to me, ‘Are you worried about being typecast?’ - I’ve got to say no. I haven’t been so far, so I don’t know why I should in the future.”
