Singer Katy Perry might have discovered some of the not-as-exciting aspects of being a newlywed in the public eye, as husband Russell Brand tweeted a picture of her without makeup to his 1.7 million followers.

The pic was quickly deleted, but the internet remembers everything, and the image quickly popped up on news and gossip sites around the world. It’s certainly not a terrible pic, but isn’t one most of us would have selected as our main Facebook picture given the choice.

Russell is set to finish recording his voiceover for animated movie Hop – in which he plays the Easter Bunny.

Ryan Phillippe has congratulated ex-wife Reese Witherspoon on her new engagement.

The ‘Cruel Intentions’ actor, who has two children, Ava, 11, and seven-year-old Deacon with the star, explained he was “very happy” for Reese and her fiancé, Hollywood agent Jim Toth.

In a statement to the New York Daily News newspaper, he said, “I am very happy for both Reese and Jim. I wish nothing but the best for the mother of my children.”

However, 36-year-old Ryan – who was married to Reese for seven years and is now believed to be dating ‘Mamma Mia!’ star Amanda Seyfried – recently admitted he still has “complicated” feelings about the couple’s 2007 divorce.

He explained, “I still have sadness and complicated feelings about my divorce. But how beneficial is it to keep hanging onto those feelings? If someone lives through an accident, his aim is to become better and healthy.

“My aim is always to progress – to make better decisions and be a better father, a better boyfriend, a better husband if it happens again, a better friend, a better actor.”

Reese and Jim got engaged to Jim over the Christmas period, the 34-year-old actress’ spokesperson confirmed earlier this week.

The impending nuptials are said to be supported by Reese’s children.

One insider said, “Ava and Deacon are happy with him.”

Cheryl Cole has gone on a New Year’s holiday to South Africa with Derek Hough.

The 27-year-old beauty, who caught potentially-deadly malaria after a trip to Africa with her close pal and rumoured boyfriend in June, is spending time with the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ professional in Cape Town to mark the turning of a year which also saw her split from husband Ashley Cole amid allegations he had cheated on her with several women.

A source said, “He wanted to make sure Cheryl had a good start to 2011 after her worst year ever.

“Then he just told her to pack a bag as he’d organised a holiday for them.”

Cheryl’s friends have been concerned about her traveling back to Africa so soon after recovering from malaria, a disease spread my mosquitoes, but worries were settled when Derek confirmed the insects in the country do not carry it.

The source added to The Sun newspaper, “Friends warned about going back to Africa so soon afterwards. But Derek did his homework and found Cape Town to be a malaria-free region.”

The pair are staying at a luxury $4,700-a-night villa where they will be able to enjoy a 24-hour butler and a personal chef.

The insider said, “Cheryl can relax and be pampered which is what she wanted.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Flood’ singer is believed to be taking acting lessons in preparation for a possible judging role on the US version of UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’.

A pal said, “Alongside the acting lessons, she’ll be getting a coach to train her for the judges’ role in America.”

Taylor Swift’s dad sells her T–shirts at her shows.

The 21-year-old country singer’s father Scott is her biggest fan and likes to be heavily involved at her concerts to show his support for his famous daughter.

Taylor explained, “My dad is adorably optimistic, positive, pie-in-the-sky. He thinks every new song I write is my best. He sells T-shirts at my merchandise stands and hands out guitar picks to fans.”

Many fans have met Scott while at Taylor’s shows, and said how friendly he is.

One US fan, Emily, told how she met the former stockbroker at a concert in Washington DC.

She wrote on a fan site in June this year, “I got pit passes and met Scott (Taylor’s dad for anyone unaware) He came out and gave us guitar picks then my friend and I talked to him for a minute or two by the soundbooth during ‘Hey Stephen’.

“I was so close to hugging Taylor but she had to turn around and go the other way to get back to the actual stage. But I touched her hand at one point during the show. And she looked right at me during ‘Fifteen’ on the moving stage.”

Taylor also told how she takes elements of her mother’s personality into her onstage persona too.

She said, “Mom is a planner, an organiser. She’s very strong and practical. She’s the person that’ll tell me if I ever start to change my personality. The balance of the two of them created my personality.”

Mel B is worried married people will think she’s “a pervert,” because she speaks about her sex life so much.

The former Spice Girls singer is happy to openly talk about her bedroom antics with husband Stephen Belafonte, but does worry about how people could perceive her.

Mel said, “We have lots of sex, we raise our kids very well and Stephen cooks dinner every night for the whole family – life’s good.

“Everybody has sex, especially if you’re married. I don’t know if married people will be inspired by me though – they might just think I’m a pervert.”

Mel – who raises her daughters, Phoenix, 11, and Angel, three, from previous relationships and Stephen’s child Giselle, seven, with her husband – also revealed she thinks having sex is a good way to keep fit.

The 35-year-old star, who has been married to Stephen for three years added, “I think any kind of sexual activity is a bit of a workout if you do it right. We have good communication with each other and I never fake it.”

‘Glee’ star Amber Riley doesn’t make New Year’s resolutions.

The actress, who plays Mercedes Jones in the musical drama series, prefers to act immediately if there is something in her life she wants to change.

She said, “I don’t make resolutions – why wait to do tomorrow what you can do today?”

The 24-year-old star is looking forward to 2011 and finishing the current series of ‘Glee’ – which follows the lives of the members of the show’s titular singing club.

She added, “In 2011 I just want to keep working on my dream and finish season two of ‘Glee’ with a bang!”

One storyline definitely confirmed for ‘Glee’ in the New Year is a cameo by Katie Couric.

The ‘CBS Evening News’ anchor will appear as herself in the series’ post-Superbowl episode, which will air on February 6.

Although her storyline is yet to be confirmed, Katie will appear in scenes with cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, who is played Jane Lynch.

Sir Elton John and David Furnish will never reveal their baby’s biological father.

The couple, whose son Zachary was born to a surrogate mother on Christmas Day, December 25, have made a pact to keep the process of the tot’s conception a secret – so he grows up seeing his two dads as equals.

A friend of David’s told The Sun newspaper, “He and Elton made a pact that they are equal parents – no one will ever know who the biological father is.

“They will deal with whether Zach is told, if and when the time arises in the years ahead.”

However, the 63-year-old singer has admitted that he wanted the child to be his – but the couple may have chosen David, 48, as the donor because he is younger.

A friend said, “Elton was clear he wanted his bloodline to continue but also took on board advice that a younger man may be a more appropriate donor. It is a very complicated arrangement – but one forged by love.”

According to reports, Elton is listed on Zachary’s birth certificate as his father, while David is mentioned as mother.

Meanwhile, Elton and David are using their new fatherhood status to renew their bid to help two HIV-positive brothers, Lev and Artyom, they tried to adopt in the Ukraine.

David said, “Although Ukranian law does not permit Elton and I to adopt Lev and Artyom, we are determined to give them the best chance of living a happy and healthy life with a loving Ukranian family.

“The arrival of our son has done nothing but strengthen our resolve to help these two wonderful children.

“We are, however, constrained by Ukranian policy and legal procedure, and this is why for the past 12 months we have retained a leading Ukranian law firm to assist us in this process.”

Lindsay Lohan will be moved to a secret location with her mother when she leaves rehab next week.

The troubled actress, who is due to complete a court-ordered treatment programme at the Betty Ford clinic next week, will not be returning to her West Hollywood home, and instead will be taken to a residence out of the public eye by her mum Dina and siblings Ali, 17, and 14-year-old Cody.

A friend of the ‘Machete’ actress told X17online, “Lindsay will be staying at a secret location starting January 4, with her family, mother and siblings. She also has the support of me and her other friends.

“As long as she doesn’t fail any tests – and everyone is going to make sure she doesn’t – she’ll be put on summary unsupervised probation on February 25.”

Lindsay’s estranged father Michael – who has a notoriously strained relationship with Dina – welcomed the move, admitting he is pleased his daughter will be kept away from her “old haunts”, which he believed contributed to her struggles.

He said, “Being away from her old so-called friends and haunts in Hollywood would only behoove Lindsay as long as when she gets to New York, she stays away from the old haunts and friends, as well.”

However, Michael is keen for his ongoing feud with his ex-wife not to come in the way of Lindsay’s progress following her release from rehab.

He added, “Another important part of Lindsay’s release, if she does spend time with Dina, is that Dina does not put Lindsay in between, or include her, in any of our differences. Lindsay needs two parents who will stand by her and become united rather than two parents who oppose each other.

“To any extent, I’m proud of Lindsay, I’m happy for her and I want her to be happy, as well. Family is the most important thing in recovery.”

She said, “My actual birthday was in December and I turned 30! It was a big one – the next chapter of my life. I’m a Sagittarius. But, because I was working so much on the movie, I postponed my birthday party, so New Year’s Eve is my big 30th birthday party.”

Rather than be worried about turning 30, the pop star insists she is pleased to leave her 20s behind her because she now knows so much about life going into a new decade.

She said, “Being 30 is better than being 20, I’ll tell you that. The lessons I’ve learned and how I’ve grown is incredible.”

Christina endured a tumultuous 2010, splitting from husband Jordan Bratman, the father of her two-year-old son Max, in October after nearly five years of marriage.
