Olivia Munn Thrilled By Robert Downey Jr.

Olivia Munn could only enjoy her role in ‘Iron Man 2′ when Robert Downey Jr. complimented her.

The 29-year-old actress, who plays the socialite-turned-superhero Janet Van Dyne in the action movie, couldn’t get excited about the part until she met her famous co-star who helped her to relax.

She said, “I should take a deep breath and go, ‘That’s pretty cool.’ But I’m afraid to take any of it for granted. When I was with Robert Downey Jr. on set he was just so complimentary. I let myself be happy then.”

The brunette beauty, who is best known for being the face of the US cable network G4, also confessed she is so scared of failure in Hollywood she tries not to get too carried away by any successes she has.

Speaking of her reaction to getting the part in ‘Iron Man 2′, she told FHM magazine, “Jon Favreau, the director, had talked to me a bit about it. He said he’d love me to be in the movie. I get excited about things, but I don’t freak out because I get afraid.

“I feel like if I put my head up I’ll get hit by a bucket and it will be all gone, so I get to the point where when something good happens, I take it and I keep moving because it could all go in a minute.”

Country singer Chely Wright comes out

A country singer who had a few hits in the genre in the 90s has come out of the closet.

Chely Wright was the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Female Vocalist eleven years ago, and she has an album (Lifted off the Ground) and a book (Like Me: Confessions of a Heartland Country Singer) hitting shelves Tuesday.

The lead up to her revelation has been massive, and the singer says:

“There had never, ever been a country music artist who had acknowledged his or her homosexuality. I wasn’t going to be the first.”

(Pssst, Chely- her name is k.d. lang and she was openly gay almost two decades ago.)

Reaction has been fairly cynical, mostly comprised of people pointing out the timing of the announcement- just a day ahead of both an album and book release for the singer. Wright will also be appearing on the Today Show tomorrow to discuss coming out and to plug her products.

Alicia Keys Won’t Record a Song Unless She Can Sing it Live

Alicia Keys won’t record a song if she can’t sing it live.

The ‘Doesn’t Mean Anything’ singer won’t rely on studio trickery to help her voice and is prepared to scrap tracks if she can’t get the vocal right.

She said, “I never use Auto-Tune, or anything like that. I won’t have that software in my life. I don’t others using it. But if I can’t sing on my own, then I’m not going to record it.”

Alicia is always writing new songs and even uses her phone to make notes when she feels creative.

She added to Q magazine, “I made some notes on my cell phone a couple of days ago. I’ve got an old idea on there called ‘Holy Love’. But the new one is just a title – ‘The Day After The Night Before’. It’s going to be about love and romance, but it could be about someone waking up and deciding they don’t like the curtains in their bedroom.”

Halle Berry “Kicked Out” Gabriel Aubry

Halle Berry reportedly “kicked out” Gabriel Aubry several months ago after realizing their relationship was over.

The Oscar-winning actress decided to end her four-and-a-half year union with the Canadian model as she knew her future wasn’t with him, but wanted the split to be as amicable as possible for the sake of their daughter, Nahla, two.

A source told People magazine, “She kicked him out months ago because he wasn’t able to pull his weight in the relationship and she wanted to move on.

“They’re very amicable in healthy ways because of their child. Her main concern is for the health and happiness of her daughter.”

A representative for twice-married Halle confirmed the break-up, saying, “They have been split for some time, but remain friends and committed parents to their daughter.”

Gabriel, 34, has recently spoken out about the split saying the priority for him and 43-year-old Halle was little Nahla.

He said, “While I will not comment on all of the wild inaccuracies being speculated about in the media, I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time.

“She is, and will forever be one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another.”

“We have been blessed with the most amazing daughter in the world, and her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us. Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time.”

Sophie Ellis-Bextor To Team Up With Girls Aloud’s Hitmakers Xenomania

Sophie Ellis-Bextor wants to work with Girls Aloud’s hitmakers Xenomania.

The 31-year-old pop beauty teamed up with the songwriters on her previous album ‘Trip the Light Fantastic’ and is keen to collaborate with them again.

She told BANG Showbiz. “I think Brian Higgins and Miranda Cooper from Xenomania are two of the best pop writers around, they’re great.

“I had a lot of fun doing that. I really liked the song we created, ‘If You Go’. I’ve performed it a few times and hopefully if I do my next tour I can wheel it out. Because it sounds so good live with all the drums.”

Discussing the possibility of a new tour, Sophie – who canceled her own string of concerts to support Take That in 2007, is keen to get back on the road.

She told BANG Showbiz, “We’re talking about doing an autumn tour and hopefully we’ll get that on sale soon. It would be good to get it up and running.

“It’s been too long. I haven’t done a solo tour in ages. I’ve done lots of support tours and I have done the odd one-off solo show, but nothing flat out. It’s pretty shameful really.”

Marriage Makes Demi Moore Feel Sexy

Demi Moore’s marriage makes her feel sexy.

The actress, who wed husband Ashton Kutcher in 2005, says she feels great about herself because her actor spouse loves her so much.

She told Look magazine, “I feel sexy because I feel loved. That’s what sexy is – it’s feeling good from the inside. When you feel sexy or sensuous, you naturally want to open up and give, and I think that comes from being able to receive love and desire.”

Demi – who, at 47, is 15 years older than Ashton – also believes because she’s so happy in her personal life it helps her to look good.

She said, “Laughter and smiling are the best antidotes to ageing you could possibly have. I pretty much think of myself as still being five. I think that’s why my twitter picture is of me at five. I’m still trying to figure it all out myself. I think there’s quite a few women in the public eye who are really defining the way women in their 40s and 50s are perceived.

“The more we see ourselves as interesting and sexy, the more other people will receive us in that way too.”

Taylor Swift Ditched By Junior High Friends

Taylor Swift doesn’t have many friends.

The 20-year-old singer admits she always struggled to fit in at school but expected to be more popular after finding fame, yet thinks she now has fewer pals than she used to.

She said, “In middle school and junior high, all my friends ditched me, so I was really lonely.

“I was doing different things at the weekend and I wasn’t part of the gang any more. I just wanted to play shows and I think it got really irritating to them.

“It’s weird, I thought I’d have so many more friends now but I feel like I’m less popular than I’ve ever been. My best friend is Abigail and we’ve been friends since I was 15.”

As well as struggling to make friends, the ‘Love Story’ singer admits she has never been popular with the opposite sex.

She added to Top of the Pops magazine, “I’ve never really been popular with the boys. I had my first boyfriend when I was 15 and we dated each other for about a year, then I was perpetually single after that.”
