Paris Hilton was arrested today for allegedly smoking marijuana during the World Cup’s quarterfinal between Brazil and Holland.

Police confirmed that the 29-year-old socialite had been arrested, and that an “investigation was underway.” The Telegraph reports that Hilton had only been in South Africa for a day at the time of her arrest:

South Africa’s Times newspaper reported that Hilton was escorted by police to the Mount Road Police Station in Port Elizabeth shortly before 8pm.

Hilton only arrived in South Africa on Thursday for a World Cup trip.

Hilton has been tweeting about her trip but hasn’t mentioned her legal troubles:

It is believed that Hilton will appear at a special World Cup court established to handle additional crimes during the event.

Mel Gibson subjected his ex-girlfriend to an explosive tirade of racist abuse.

The ‘Braveheart’ actor blasted Oksana Grigorieva, with who he has an eight-month-old daughter Lucia, in a series of angry outbursts which see him calling her a “w***e”, “f***ing fake” and a “****” several times.

In one taped tirade, RadarOnline.com claims he said, “You’re an embarrassment to me.

“You look like a f***ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n***ers, it will be your fault.”

In another row, the 54-year-old star threatens to “burn down” the Russian singer’s house.

He ranted, How dare you act like such a b***h when I have been so f***ing nice.

“I am going to come and burn the f***ing house down… but you will blow me first.”

A friend of Oksana, 40, claims she was forced to tape her arguments with Mel after he made a series of death threats and says she hopes the recordings will be admissible in any potential trial.

The source said, “Oksana’s motivation for recording this was to show Mel how mean he was, and because she feared for her life.

“She wanted to get evidence that he was dangerous and violent.”

Mel has reportedly heard two of the tapes and is trying to get them blocked.

The source added, “Mel is doing everything he can to suppress this… they are the rantings of a mad man.”

Last week, Oksana filed for a restraining order against Mel, and allegedly claimed he had been “extremely violent” towards her, something which the actor’s friends have denied.

In 2006, Mel – who has seven children with ex-wife Robin – was arrested for drink driving and stunned police with an anti-Semitic rant.

The former couple appeared in court yesterday, July 1, for a closed hearing, where Oksana’s legal representatives are said to have “vehemently denied” she leaked the tapes, as she is the subject of a restraining order forbidding her to do so.

Sarah Harding has revealed her secret to staying in shape is seaweed.

The Girls Aloud singer always has a stash of kelp tablets at home to take before meals because they help you digest delicious foods.

She said “I have a few kelp vitamins before I eat. They contain cider vinegar which help to break down carbs and dairy. They help bloating.”

And that can only be good news for Sarah who admits that spaghetti bolognese with lashings of butter and parmesan cheese is her favorite food.

She said “I love cooking spaghetti bolognese. I always make it with loads of parmesan cheese and butter on the pasta.”

As well as kelp pills, Sarah also regularly takes a host of other vitamins to stay in shape.

She said,Sarah Harding “I do take a lot of vitamins to keep myself in shape, Vitamin E, glucosamine, evening primrose oil, acidophilus for digestion and, of course, the kelp tablets.”

Kylie Minogue thinks her clothes get treated better than she does.

The 42-year-old singer donated several of her stage costumes, including the iconic gold hot pants she donned in the video for her 2000 single ‘Spinning Around,’ to Melbourne’s Performing Arts Museum in Australia and is amazed at how well the garments are cared for.

She said, “The gold hot pants are locked behind high security at the performing arts museum in Melbourne, where I’ve donated all my show costumes.

“The hot pants are not on display right now though, they’re in storage in a temperature-controlled room. I’m not making this up.

“They went on tour – with some other outfits –and when they were displayed at the V&A museum in London they were behind a glass box. They’re better treated than I am!”

The ‘All the Lovers’ singer admits she almost ran into trouble with museum curators when she started rearranging one of the displays.

She explained in an interview with BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, “Before the first exhibition, there are ladies running around in white gloves putting everything in place.

“I went in to look at the display the day before they opened to the public and I was looking at this big crow feather headpiece. It wasn’t sitting right on the mannequin so I moved it and the assistants were just there quivering at me.

“I still regard them as if they were mine so I was just manhandling them.”

Kristen Stewart doesn’t want to be the next Angelina Jolie.

The 20-year-old actress, who plays Bella Swan in the ‘Twilight’ movies, respects Angelina’s acting talents and commitment to humanitarian work but she would not want to trade places with her.

Despite being in one of the biggest films of the moment, ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’, Kristen doesn’t enjoy being in the limelight.

The brunette beauty, who is rumored to be dating her co-star Robert Pattinson, added, “I don’t think there’s anything about being a celebrity that’s desirable. I understand, though, that everybody’s going to know who you are and what you look like, but why be so obsessive? People are in love with you and they don’t even know you. It can be isolating.”

Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend has sparked speculation they have reunited.

Caitlin Beadles, who split from the ‘Baby’ hitmaker shortly before he found fame early last year, spent time with the 16-year-old star in the Bahamas last month when he was doing a photoshoot with Kim Kardashian.

Despite their split, Justin and Caitlin have remained close, with the ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ singer flying to see his former love last August after she was involved in a serious boating accident.

In December, he serenaded her onstage during a concert in Georgia.

However, despite the speculation, Justin insists he is not romantically involved with anyone.

Megan Fox didn’t tell her father she was getting married.

The ‘Transformers’ actress, who tied the knot with Brian Austin Green in a low-key ceremony in Hawaii last week, only told Franklin Fox about her nuptials in a telephone call after the ceremony.

Franklin, who is divorced from the brunette beauty’s mother said, “Megan gave me a call after the ceremony, and then sent a photograph of her and Brian with her iPhone.

“My daughter looked very happy in the photograph that she sent me in what was a very private ceremony.

“I’m delighted for her and I’ve met Brian before and I think that he is a good guy and I hope they will be happy.”

Megan, who had been dating Brian since 2004, grew up with her mother and stepfather but still sees Franklin regularly.

He added to RadarOnline.com, “We are in regular contact and I usually go and see her when she visits her sister in Florida. I’m really thrilled for them both.”

Megan, 24, and 36-year-old Brian wed in secret last Thursday, June 24, in a small ceremony with only half a dozen guests.

The nuptials took place at the Four Seasons Resort on the Big Island and Brian’s eight-year-old son Kassius – who he has from a previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil – gave his dad away.
