Los Angeles, CA (CNS) – Multi-award winning artist Carly Simon is suing coffeehouse giant Starbucks for failing to promote her CD. She claims that her 2008 album “This Kind of Love” was not available in a lot of stores during the early months of its release.

“This Kind of Love” was released via the Starbucks label Hear Music in April 2008 and was sold in Starbucks outlets.

But Simon, 64, claims that the coffee chain failed to properly promote the LP. The album was apparently not available in a “substantial number” of stores during the important early months following its release.

Also, Starbucks offered the album at a sale price, which “stigmatized” the sale.

Starbucks denied failing to fulfill its obligation to promote and distribute her album, but the CD only had a “tepid response” from customers.

Simon is seeking $5 million to $10 million from the coffee chain.

Mickey Rourke is “painfully arrogant,” according to the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation after “The Wrestler” star used the derogatory word “faggot” numerous times in a TMZ video.

The 57-year-old comeback actor felt the heat last year when he slipped saying the F-word. He apologized for the slip-up, saying it was “insensitive and inappropriate.”

However, in a new video posted by gossip website TMZ, Rourke tried to explain the term, comparing it to a football situation. In the footage, he freely used the homophobic word numerous times, saying back in the days the F-word had “nothing to do with gay” and that it’s just the same as saying “punkass.”

GLAAD then released a statement to the website in response to the video. It does not agree that the word is harmless.

President Jarrett Barrios said, “This is a slur that, regardless of what Mickey Rourke has convinced himself that it means, is often the last word that gay people, and gay youth in particular, hear before they’re bullied, harassed or assaulted.”

“Rourke is showing himself to be painfully ignorant of how this vulgar, abusive slur feeds a climate of anti-gay hatred, intolerance and violence.”

“Rourke either needs to figure this out, or media needs to stop giving him a platform for promoting these kinds of slurs.”

Kerry Katona, the British reality TV star and former member of Atomic Kitten, won’t be facing assault charges. After being arrested for claims she assaulted her accountant, Katona won’t be facing any further action from police.

The incident in question allegedly happened in August, when she was taken in for questioning following an incident where Katona allegedly threw a cup of tea over accountant David McHugh over a financial dispute.

Chesire police officials have confirmed dropping the allegations, saying “no further action will be taken” in relation to the incident.

The assault and criminal damage allegations came just days after the News of the World published pictures of 29-year-old mother of four supposedly snorting cocaine.

Katona, who suffers from bi-polar disorder, recently starred in her own MTV reality show titled “Kerry Katona: What’s The Problem?,” which documented how she came to terms with her mental illness.

Kylie Minogue loves living in America because no-one recognizes her.

The singer, who has had a globally successful career spanning over 20 years, claims she can walk around incognito in the US and not get hassled by fans.

The 41-year-old Australian superstar who finishes her American tour in New York today October 13 said, “I can keep a much lower profile, which is enjoyable. And then if someone’s looking at me, I’m like, ‘Why are they staring at me? What’s wrong? Have I got something on my face?’ ”

The ‘Wow’ singer also revealed she sees doubles of herself at her concerts because her fans dress up like her.

She told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper, “I’ve had lots of people dressed as versions of me. I’ve had flight attendants, robots, showgirls, all of them – from three-year-old up.”

Kylie is now planning to spend more time in America after being offered a Las Vegas residency.

Her sister, Dannii, recently revealed, “The response from her shows in America have been phenomenal. They love her out there.

“She has now been asked to take the show back to Vegas and extend it as a residency over there. I’m so proud of her.”

Taylor Swift is looking for a boyfriend.

The 19-year-old singer who previously romanced Jonas Brothers star Joe Jonas, says music has always come first but she is ready to start dating again.

The blonde starlet said, “I have always been really busy, so finding a date was never easy.

“I’m better on my own, moving around and doing career things. But if someone comes along who is right for me I will definitely go for it.”

Although Taylor is ready to find ‘Mr. Right’, the ‘Love Story’ singer’s previous relationships have not gone well.

She said, “I would probably run in the opposite direction if I saw someone I had a crush on… and then write a song about it! Shows why I haven’t had successful relationships.”

Taylor won Best Female Video prize at last month’s MTV Video Music Awards. Her victory caused massive controversy after Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech to proclaim Beyonce Knowles should have won.

Mel B says the Spice Girls are planning an “exciting” reunion.

The 34-year-old singer has revealed that the girl group consisting of Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Geri Halliwell, are ecstatic to be working on the comeback project.

She told BANG Showbiz, “We are definitely going to be doing something together again soon. We’re actually working on it right now. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it’s really, really exciting. I can’t wait to be singing with the girls again!”

However, Mel – also known as ‘Scary Spice’ – has refused to give extra further details of their reunion.

The pop star, who was partying with celebrity guests at exclusive London nightspot Shoreditch House last night October 12, at the launch of the new O2 Palm Pre mobile phone – added, “I really don’t want to say too much just yet.”

Last month, it was reported Mel wanted to get the band back together for a one-off performance in South Africa next summer, at the same time as the soccer World Cup.

At the time, it was suggested Victoria – whose husband is England soccer star David Beckham – may not take part and the girls could perform as a foursome.

A source said, “Mel’s determined to get the girls back together for the World Cup and wants them to plough ahead as a foursome if Victoria doesn’t want to take part. She has got the others excited by the idea of a one-off appearance. They are very interested.”

Hayden Panettiere found kissing a girl “exciting”.

The 20-year-old actress had no problem locking lips with Madeline Zima, who plays Hayden’s character Claire Bennet’s roommate Gretchen Berg on US TV show ‘Heroes’, as she thinks it’s something lots of girls do.

Hayden said, “It’s very exciting! When you are young, you experiment and you have fun. It truly is a person that she just falls in love with, because she fulfills her and she is her best friend.”

Hayden was so keen to shoot the sexy scene, which aired in America last night October 12, she suggested it to script writers.

She explained, “I kind of threw it out there. The writers put you in relationships and I was like, ‘Can I just be with a girl or something? Let’s do that.’ So they took it and ran with it.”

Hayden has previously spoken about her own lesbian experiences, admitting she “experimented” with her female pals when she was younger.

She said, “It’s great to be single. It’s great to have boyfriends. Or girlfriends. There are occasions when you kiss your best friend growing up, having fun and goofing about. Like perfecting your technique.”

Elvis Presley’s honeymoon ranch is up for sale for $6.08 million.

The late music legend bought the luxury estate – a 155-acre property near Memphis, Tennessee – in 1968 to share with his new wife Priscilla.

Known by fans as the ‘Elvis Ranch’, the rock ‘n’ roll star owned the Circle G estate in Lake Horn from 1966 to 1971.

Estate agent Rodger Motz expects the ranch to be snapped up by a fan and has already had one interested buyer contact him from Denmark.

He said, “I knew before I listed the property that there were a lot of Elvis fans out there. But I have to admit, I was surprised to get a call from that far away.”

The estate includes two barns and the lakeside cottage where Elvis spent his honeymoon with Priscilla.

But the extensive ranch has been “zoned for development” and could be transformed into a new estate of homes and businesses.

The famous honeymoon cottage will have to be preserved as part of the deal.

Previous attempts at turning it into a tourist resort had been turned down.

Jamie Foxx says Roman Polanski would “be missing” if he had touched his daughter.

The ‘Soloist’ actor has spoke out against the film director – who is currently facing extradition to the US after he fled the country in 1978 when he was convicted of having sex with a 13-year-old girl – insisting he wouldn’t hesitate to take the law into his own hands if his child was in danger.

He told Parade magazine, “If it had been my daughter who was barely a teenager – my daughter is 15 – Roman Polanski would be missing… period. It wouldn’t even get to the court case.

“But, that’s me and I wouldn’t want anyone else to follow that because you should let the justice system work it out.

“On the other hand, I don’t know Roman Polanski, but maybe if I had a relationship with him my answer would be different. I just think this whole issue is bigger than Roman Polanski.”

Jamie, 41, admits he has no idea how far he would go to seek retribution if someone hurt his loved ones.

He added, “Revenge is a tough thing. When it comes to someone bringing harm to your family, it’s hard to think about turning the other cheek.

“Some of things I’ve said I’d do to sexual perpetrators were pretty graphic. But I also read some stories of people taking the law into their own hands, which is bad too. So it’s tough to know how far you’d go.”

Madonna’s daughter Lourdes doesn’t want to wear skimpy outfits like her mother.

The ‘Celebration’ singer’s daughter who turns 13 on Wednesday October 14, has vowed never to wear flesh-flashing outfits like her pop star mother because she would feel too embarrassed.

A family source told Britain’s Hello! magazine, “Lourdes is fairly conservative. I recently heard her say she would never be comfortable wearing some of the costumes her mom wears on stage. ‘Oh that is so not me,’ she said.”

Despite not wanting to don outrageous costumes, Lourdes – who recently appeared in Madonna’s ‘Celebration’ music video wearing a mock-up of the pop superstar’s iconic 1984 ‘Like A Virgin’ outfit – often rows with her mother about her fashion choices.

A source explained, “Occasionally, they argue because Lourdes might like to wear something her mother doesn’t agree with.

“Like all mothers and daughters, they have disagreements. That’s OK with Madonna. Madonna told me, ‘I want her to learn to argue and stand up for herself. And if she can stand up to me, she can stand up to anyone.’ ”
