Meghan McCain, daughter of failed US Presidential candidate John McCain and a leading moderate GOP spokesperson in her own right, is in a spot of bother after posting a rather interesting photo to Twitter.

The Meghan McCain Twitter photo (above) shows McCain showing off her ample cleavage while pouting and holding a book on Andy Warhol.

The photo apparently was a bit to risqué for the Republican base, who responded by labeling McCain a slut among other things for posting the photograph.

One hour after posting the picture, McCain responded on Twitter writing “so I took a fun picture not thinking anything about what I was wearing but apparently anything other than a pantsuit I am a slut, this is.” In further tweets she wrote that “why I have been considering deleting my twitter account, what once was fun now just seems like a vessel for harassment” and “when I am alone in my apartment, I wear tank tops and sweat pants, I had no idea this makes me a “slut”, I can’t even tell you how hurt I am.”

Sienna Miller is learning to stay focused on stage.

The 27-year-old star who is currently starring in hit play ‘After Miss Julie’ in New York has had to deal with a string of bizarre distractions from the audience, something you don’t get when shooting a movie.

She said, “The other night there seemed to be someone in the front row convulsing.

“Then he lay down and I thought he had passed out. I stayed in character and carried on, which was just as well because it turned out it was just a guide dog simply shaking itself out before going to sleep.”

Although Sienna is coping well so far, she admits it can sometimes be tough staying professional.

She added to Britain’s Daily Express newspaper, “Another time, a woman in the crowd was making so much noise it was as if she was eating sweets out of a giant trash bag – I nearly told her to shut up.

“But it’s as well I didn’t because she was ill, passed out soon afterwards and had to be taken to hospital.”

Sienna also revealed another trick she has learned during her career – always have a “failsafe” look for the red carpet.

The ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ actress said, “You should always have a reliable big-event look. When I need to feel comfortable for the red carpet, I stick to my failsafe look of smoky eyes and nudge lips. I use black eyeliner, a volumizing mascara and a nude gloss.”

At a press conference held at the Grand Ole Opry, country hit maker Garth Brooks announced that he was coming out of retirement. The singer/songwriter went into retirement after the 2001 release of his hit album “Scarecrow” in order to spend more time with his family.

Garth’s spokesperson Nancy Seltzer told CNN that ” The singer [Brooks] will not be announcing a tour.” However, “If he tours again, it still won’t be until his youngest goes to college,”

It’s welcomed news for the country music industry which has witnessed Garth sell over 100 million albums since the early 90’s. His hits include “Friends In Low Place,” “Ain’t Goin’ Down Till The Sun Comes Up,” and “The Dance” among various others.

No word yet on when a new album may hit store shelves or if that material like much of his catalog will once again be a WalMart exclusive. Either way I for one welcome Mr. Brooks back into the fold, his hit song writing has been missed.

Thankfully Brooks didn’t announce any plans to un-retire his alter ego “rocker” Chris Gaines.

Jessica Simpson was offered a brain sandwich for a snack.

The blonde star has recently been working in Morocco filming her new TV show ‘The Price of Beauty’, and got squeamish when offered the local delicacy.

She said, “We definitely had our moments. Somebody threw a bun in front of me, and I was supposed to make a brain sandwich. You know, that’s not really something I want to partake in!”

Despite the experience, Jessica loved her time in the country and says she found it “really empowering” to realize how much power women can hold without bearing their flesh.

She explained to America’s OK! magazine:,“The women there are incredible. Such powerful people, and going in, you would think that the women would be repressed, but there was nothing repressed about the women. The woman owns the house, she’s in complete control.

“She stays covered to keep herself for her man, so everything is through her eyes. When somebody can carry themselves very confident, sexy, all-knowing, and be completely covered, it’s all about what’s inside of them.

“It’s about what you define as beautiful. I love Morocco.”

Meanwhile, the singer-and-actress has admitted she wants to try online dating.

The unlucky-in-love star, who was previously married to singer Nick Lachey and saw her romance with American football player Tony Romo end on the day before her 29th birthday in July, has never tried using the internet to find a partner, but is eager to give it a go.

She said, “Online dating?! Anybody can find love online, I guess, but I’ve never tried to find love online, I have to say.”

Michael Sheen wants to play John Lennon in a film about The Beatles.

The actor, who has played a number of British icons on the big screen, including former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, would love to depict the late music icon in a film about the legendary band but is convinced he would be cast as Sir Paul McCartney instead.

He explained, “I’d want to play Lennon, but I probably would be cast as McCartney!”

The 40-year-old actor, who played interviewer David Frost in ‘Frost/Nixon’ – would have to get over his nerves before agreeing to any prospective role.

Despite his own celebrity status, Michael was too star-struck to have a proper conversation with 67-year-old Paul when they met on a plane recently.

He is quoted by Canadian publication NOW Magazine, “I met Paul McCartney on a flight not long ago. I was sitting there going, ‘I can’t go over there.’ And then he came over to me. He said, ‘You’re famous, aren’t you? I’ve seen you on the TV.’ And I thought, ‘Yeah, I’ve seen you on the TV a few times as well!’ ”

The sad saga of Jon and Kate Gosselin, their huge brood of kids and their messy divorce has finally been yanked from the TLC lineup.

The ordeal that began with the Gosselin’s fertility issues and ended with the Gosselin tots stuck in the middle as Kate cried and Jon romped with his plastic surgeon’s daughter in the South of France will no longer be a cash cow for the family of ten. The show was originally repackaged sans the disgraced and douchey dad of eight, as Kate Plus 8. Ratings tanked, and after Jon was slapped away from the TLC money teat, Jon had an “epiphany” after his public firing. He decided that if he couldn’t be on the show, his progeny couldn’t either.

As even fewer people would tune in for Kate, TLC just pulled the plug full stop. And as we’ve watched the family implode, the Gosselin’s marriage disintegrate and the kids witness their parents sniping at each other in the press and in person, what else is there to see? Kate says she relies on the show to support the legion Gosselings, and that her kids are bereft in the absence of film crews.

TLC plans to cobble together some remaining episodes from existing footage, but it looks like Kate’s on the road to being just another woman struggling with a whole mess of kids and an unemployed babydaddy.

A paramedic claims rigor mortis had already set in by the time he was called to aid John Travolta’s son.

Tarino Lightbourne, who is accused of trying to extort money from the actor following the death of 16-year-old Jett, insists medical aid was called too late to help the boy, who had suffered a seizure in the bathroom of the family’s Bahamas holiday home on January 2.

Lightbourne said, “His pupils were fixed and dilated. He had flakey, dry bloodstains on his mouth, ears and nose.

“This boy was dead. No signs of life. Dead stiff. The veins were collapsed.”

According to the defendant, he was offered $14.3 million by Travolta’s lawyer Michael McDermott to dispose of a ‘Refusal of Transport/ Treatment’ document which the ‘Pulp Fiction’ star had signed because he and wife Kelly Preston wanted Jett to be flown back to the US for treatment.

Representatives for Travolta have admitted he signed the form, believing it to be standard procedure.

Jett was eventually taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It is claimed that Lightbourne and his co-accused, former Senator Pleasant Bridgewater, demanded $29.25 million from Travolta and threatened to sell a story claiming the couple “intentionally killed” their son.

Both defendants deny the charges. The case continues.

Lily Allen’s boyfriend has surprised her with a $2,980 bracelet.

Builder Sam Cooper who has been dating the ‘It’s Not Fair’ singer since July, splashed out the huge sum on the lavish vintage bangle as a romantic treat after she fell in love with it during a holiday in Venice, Italy.

A source said, “Lily spotted an amethyst and sapphire bracelet and said she loved it. The next day Sam sneaked off and bought it as a surprise.”

As well as spoiling her with expensive gifts, the 44-year-old builder is also encouraging Lily, 24, to pursue an acting career.

He reportedly said, “She would rock as an actress!”

The couple have grown increasingly smitten over recent months.

Earlier this week, Lily revealed Sam’s compliments have helped boost her self-esteem.

She said, “I’m so confident and happy in myself now. My boyfriend tells me that I’m beautiful and that he loves me all the time. He says my butt is fabulous and that’s all I need.”

Simon Cowell keeps telling Paula Abdul he loves her.

Former ‘American Idol’ judge Paula is feeling “disturbed” after the 50-year-old music mogul repeatedly expressed his devotion.

She told FOX News, “I’ve talked to Simon. He misses me, and I know it. I talk to him a lot – he says he loves me and that is really disturbing to me.”

Paula, who left the US TV talent show earlier this year after eight seasons is struggling to come to terms with her decision to quit, but will be watching the new series.

The singer-and-choreographer said, “I feel tremendously blessed to have made history with that show. I felt like I was a mamma-bear to cubs and I was there to protect them. I’ll miss that but I’ll be rooting on everyone.”

Paula has also dismissed reports of rivalry between her and fellow judge Kara DioGuardi, insisting they are so close they used to live together.

She explained, “I literally discovered Kara and believed in her. She lived with me and we became the best roommates, we never fought.”

George Clooney has offered to adopt some of Brad Pitt’s kids.

The ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ actor, who has no children, claims he owes his ‘Ocean’s 11’ co-star a favor and is willing help out with his six children.

He joked to BANG Showbiz, “I am planning to adopt. I am going to adopt some of Brad Pitt’s kids. I owe him.”

George previously revealed he has no plans to become a father, but spends time with Brad, his partner Angelina Jolie and their large brood whenever he feels lonely.

He said, “Even one kid running around my villa makes me nervous, so I’m definitely not a candidate for father of the year. If I need to surround myself with children and feel like I have this big extended family, I can always call Brad and Angelina and ask them to stay with me, just to remind myself why I’m so happy.”

George has also revealed he formed such a close bond with his ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ co-star Jason Schwartzman he feels like a parent to him.

When asked if voicing the animated family movie had made him broody, George said, “Broody? That’s a word that Americans don’t understand. Just having Jason here next me was like having a son. And he just got married by the way, so it will soon be like being a grandfather!”

The 48-year-old actor is currently dating Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis.
