Jane Adams, the star of the HBO series Hung has put forward her nomination for bitch of the month after she had a waiter who tweeted about her not paying her bill fired from his job.

Waiter Jon-Barrett Ingels at Beverly Hills restaurant Barney Greengrass was the unlucky target, when Adams skipped paying her $13.44 bill. According to Ingels, Adams told him she had to get her checkbook from her car, but then never returned to pay up. Her agent though appeared the next day to settle, and didn’t leave a tip, causing Ingels to accurately write on Twitter: “Jane Adams, star of HBO series “Hung” skipped out on a $13.44 check. Her agent called and payed the following day. NO TIP!!!”

According to reports, Adams found out about the tweet a month later, returned to the scene and angrily gave Ingels a $3 tip. Adams though took it further, complaining to management about the tweet, a complaint that resulted in Ingels getting fired.

The majority of David Letterman’s viewers think his sex scandal confession was sincere. A new media study among 505 viewers of the “Late Show” reveals that their perception of the host has not changed after the confession.

Last week, Letterman revealed to his audience that a man tried to blackmail him for $2 million in exchange for keeping quiet about his past sexual affairs with some female staff of his show, which he admitted was true.

HCD Research, using its MediaCurves.com website, conducted the study from October 1 to 2 to learn what viewers think of the late night talk show host and his recent involvement in the extortion scandal.

Only 22 percent of the respondents have a more negative perception of Letterman, while 55 percent has no change in perception. 23 percent of the viewers have a more positive reception of the host.

When asked if the incident will change their likelihood to watch the program, 11 percent said they are more likely to watch the show now, 15 percent said they are less likely to watch the show, and 73 percent said there’s no change.

HCD Research president and CEO Glenn Kessler said, “While sincerity levels remained high throughout Letterman’s confession, the curves spiked when he talked about protecting his family and the people involved in the situation.”

Good: Jon Gosselin gets his sniveling, Ed Hardy clad ass handed to him.

Bad: It’s by professional kvetch Nancy Grace. But if you can forget that for a moment, Grace really lays into Gosselin, calling him on his selfishness and college girl philandering. She basically calls him a liar, says both Jon and Kate are self-absorbed, and points out that he only wanted the kids off the show when he got booted. Watching him hem and haw at the end after Grace nails him for answering a question about the kids with a response about himself was fantastic. I suppose we can like Nancy Grace for a day.

My favorite part was Niecy Nash. That woman can say anything and be fabulous and compelling.

Cancer-stricken Dame Maggie Smith has vowed to “stagger through” the final “Harry Potter” film. The Oscar-winning actress – who plays Professor McGonagall in the hit boy wizard series – has vowed to complete her scenes in the big screen adaptation of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” despite her “hideous” illness.

The 74-year-old star told Britain’s The Times newspaper: “If there’s work to do I’ll do it. I’ve still got to stagger through the last ‘Harry Potter.’ The cancer was hideous. It takes the wind out of your sails and I don’t know what the future holds, if anything.”

“You feel so ghastly, you wouldn’t mind dying a lot of the time. The last couple of years have been a write-off, though I’m beginning to feel like a person now. My energy is coming back. S**t happens. I ought to pull myself together a bit.”

Maggie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007.

She had chemotherapy immediately, leaving her struggling to cope with the filming schedule for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

She explained: “I was hairless. I had no problem getting the wig on. I was like a boiled egg. The chemotherapy made me feel horribly sick. I was holding onto railings, thinking, ‘I can’t do this.’”

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” – the seventh and final book in the series written by J.K. Rowling – is being made into two movies.

George Michael has split from his boyfriend.

Kenny Goss walked out on the ‘Faith’ singer last Christmas after 13 years together.

The pair have been living apart ever since, but friends and family have kept the break-up a secret because they fear George is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Kenny is thought to have ended the relationship after George, 46, was arrested in the public toilets on London’s Hampstead Heath and charged with possessing drugs last year.

One pal told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “Kenny had given George many chances. But after the Hampstead Heath incident he said he couldn’t take any more. Everyone knew George wasn’t just in there to do drugs – the place is well known as a place to pick up men.

“Despite George saying they had an open relationship, Kenny never agreed with George’s urges to go out cruising for other men, or with his excessive use of cannabis. He is embarrassed by what George had
put him through.

“They had been due to marry on their 10th anniversary back in 2006, but Kenny told him it was off unless he changed his ways. But it seems George just couldn’t.”

The split has reportedly turned George into a “hermit” who is addicted to computer games. He has postponed all his work commitments and stays in his north London mansion for days at a time.

A friend said, “When Kenny left him, George wasn’t in the right frame of mind for anything. He seemed to become really depressed and no one could talk him out of it.

“George would get up at 2pm, have a couple of cannabis joints, and play computer games until 7am, then do it all again the next day.

“George also has all these ideas about going back on the road – but no one knows if his state of mind will take it. The split has hit him hard.”

Shyne, the rapper who was jailed for a high-profile NYC club shooting incident involving P. Diddy and Jennifer Lopez, is set to be released from an upstate New York correctional facility after serving over eight years.

Shyne, born Jamal Barrow and now known as Moses Michael Leviy, has been in prison since 2001. Over the years there has been speculation that Shyne took the fall for higher-profile stars, and Shyne does seem to harbor some animosity towards Diddy, who did not serve time in relation to the incident:

“How do you call a witness to testify against your comrade? That don’t make no sense. If I’m telling you that [the club bouncer] is lying, and you saying ‘Well hey, she’s helping me’ — I’m facing 25 years. You looking at probation,” Shyne explained in an interview with MTV.

“Those types of things are unacceptable. You don’t have to hold my hand, you don’t have to do nothing. But don’t try to hurt me. That’s intentional,” he added.

Diddy called into Hot97 recently and expressed excitement at Shyne’s impending release.

“It’s a blessing that he’s coming home…I spoke to him like a couple of weeks ago and he sounded like he was in good spirits. I know he can’t wait to get home. I know he is definitely going to heat the whole scene up. He was definitely one of [many] talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with. I’m quite sure he’s been using his time wisely and has some heat.”

Michael Jackson’s thoughts and actions were “controlled” by his team of minders.

The late pop star’s sister La Toya broke down yesterday October 5, as she revealed Michael’s staff had brainwashed the timid singer.

She told UK TV show ‘GMTV’, “Michael was very meek and very kind and people would just barge their way into his life. People controlled him. They did what they wanted and it was very difficult for him to say no. We’ve tried so many times to intervene but they keep everybody at bay, they keep everyone away actually.”

When asked exactly how Michael’s staff had influenced him, La Toya replied, “By controlling him. By controlling his thoughts, controlling what he does, not letting anyone through the gates. We couldn’t even get near security.”

Michael – who was allegedly addicted to prescription medications – passed away aged 50 on June 25 from acute Propofol intoxication.

Propofol is a powerful anaesthetic used to put surgery patients to sleep in hospital.

Los Angeles police are currently carrying out a homicide investigation into Michael’s death.

La Toya said the family is pleased with how this is progressing and are looking forward to the truth about the ‘Thriller’ singer’s life.

She said, “I think the police are doing an absolutely wonderful job. You guys are going to get really, really different information and news that you’re not aware of. More will be revealed probably within the next month or two.”

Russell Brand is “in love” with Katy Perry.

The comedian is so smitten with the singer, who he recently enjoyed a romantic holiday in Thailand with, has vowed to end his womanizing ways.

He said, “I think I’m in love.”

When asked about his relationship with Katy, he added, “I don’t think I should be drawn on that.”

Friends say the 34-year-old British star is keen to keep the romance under wraps so he doesn’t spoil his chances with the brunette beauty.

A friend told Britain’s The Sun newspaper, “Russell has had a crush on Katy for ages and was like an excited schoolboy after they got together.

“He really sees her as an ideal catch and is prepared to stop seeing other girls.

“He doesn’t want to talk about it yet as he doesn’t want to blow his chances.”

Katy, 24, was photographed in London with Russell at the weekend and despite heading to France for Paris Fashion Week, she is keen to return to the presenter’s home.

A source said, “She knows about Russell’s reputation but finds him really charming and funny. She’s keen to make a go of it.”

Katy and Russell were first romantically linked after the MTV Video Music Awards when they were seen kissing at Lady Gaga’s after-party at New York nightspot Avenue.

Mischa Barton is terrified her career is over.

The 23-year-old actres, who was placed under involuntary psychiatric care in a Los Angeles hospital in July, was devastated when her new TV show ‘The Beautiful Life’ was canceled after just two episodes, and now fears she will never find work again.

A source said, “This show was such an ego boost for her at a time when she needed one. She has been insecure about where her career was going and feels she may be a has-been at 23. She hasn’t been overwhelmed with offers since ‘The O.C.’ went off the air.

“She needs to feel she’s still employable. Right now, that’s her deepest fear. That no one will hire her again. It’s not true, but that’s how insecure she can get sometimes.”

Bosses on ‘The Beautiful Life’ – which was produced by Ashton Kutcher – were aware of how fragile Mishca was feeling, and so asked her mother Nuala to break the news the show was over.

The source added to Britain’s Star magazine, “Mischa fell into her mother’s arms and sobbed. Nuala reminded her that there will be other opportunities and it wasn’t the end of the world, but Mischa got mad and screamed how she couldn’t understand. It was rough, apparently.

“She said it wasn’t her fault they didn’t promote the show or keep it running long enough so people could discover it on their own.”
