Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are in a relationship, Catherine Hardwicke has confirmed.

Despite previously denying they are a couple, the director who helmed the first movie in ‘The Twilight Saga’, in which the pair play lovers, insists persistent rumors they are enjoying an off-screen romance are true.

Recalling a conversation she had with 19-year-old Kristen, Catherine told Time magazine, “I didn’t have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say. In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film.

“I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, ‘OK, I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.’ ”

Catherine also admitted she initially warned Robert, now 23, about trying to pursue a romance with his co-star after realizing the British actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the franchise, was attracted to Kristen.

She added, “After I cast him, I told Robert, don’t even think about having a romance with her . . . She’s under 18. You will be arrested.”

However, Catherine, who worked on the first ‘Twilight’ film, did not direct on sequels ‘New Moon’ or ‘Eclipse’, so there is doubt over how much insight into their relationship she would have.

Thandie Newton “forgot” to act in her new movie.

The ‘2012’ actress, who plays the US president’s daughter in the big-budget blockbuster, was mainly kept out of the action adventures in the disaster epic, but became overwhelmed during the frantic scenes she was involved in.

She said, “The only really big action scenes I was involved in were two water sequences, one where I’m in a corridor and this huge tidal wave comes bursting down towards us. It was amazing but I forgot to act because gallons of water were rushing down from floor to ceiling towards me.

“The director had to shout ‘cut’ and all the water went down. I don’t even know where it drained to. Then 10 minutes later we did it again and the water comes rushing round the corner, blasting down the set.”

Although she enjoyed working on the movie, the 37-year-old star admits it left her drained.

She added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “On ‘2012’ when I’d finished a scene I’d go back to my trailer and just collapse. There were huge sets, lots of cameras and it was kind of exhausting.”

Ashton Kutcher has defended Demi Moore’s honor.

The ‘Valentine’s Day’ star and his wife were at the after-party for Broadway’s ‘24 Hour Plays’ – where Ashton had been performing alongside Eva Mendes – but the mood turned sour when a fellow guest started to mock the couple’s relationship.

A source told gossip blogger Perez Hilton, “Demi and Jennifer Aniston were happily sitting together in the VIP area when this guy starting really obviously making fun of Demi and things like her relationship with a younger man.

“It went on for quite a while. Ashton heard it and approached him. At first he thought the guy wasn’t serious and was like ‘what the…?’ He then realized he was serious. Ashton lost it.”

Ashton, 31, reportedly flew into a rage at the guest while 47-year-old wife Demi looked embarrassed.

The source added, “It got pretty heated, nobody knew what to do.”

When the fight calmed down, the couple and Jennifer left the Crest Lounge’s Opera Ballroom venue through a back entrance.

Demi, who married Ashton in 2005, recently said she didn’t understand the fuss about her marrying a younger man.

She said, “I’m certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man, but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl.”

Daniel Radcliffe looked “spaced out” as he reportedly smoked cannabis at a party.

Photographs have emerged of the ‘Harry Potter’ star appearing dazed and confused after apparently smoking a “joint” – a term commonly used to describe a cannabis-laced cigarette – at a recent London bash, where he boasted of his drug-taking and even let a girl draw a moustache on his face.

Fellow guest Wadia Tazi, 26, said, “He was really friendly and talking about his dad a bit. Then he pulled out a huge joint and lit up. Daniel said he loved it.

“Daniel was laughing and seemed to find it funny. But he didn’t really look like he knew what was going on. I was surprised by his behavior.

“He looked spaced out and away with the fairies.”

After giggling and chatting to other guests at the private bash, it has been reported the 20-year-old actor started telling everyone, “I love weed!”

However, Daniel was seemingly determined Wadia and his friend, who arrived at the party in the early hours of the morning, didn’t work out who he was.

Wadia explained to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “I didn’t recognize him as he looked so different to what I expected from the films. When my friend told me who he was, I was shocked.”

However, spirits dropped when a man called Sam, believed to be Daniel’s minder, realized the two guests had noticed his behavior and were possibly making recordings on their mobile phones.

The actor then made a swift exit from the party with his on/off girlfriend Laura O’Toole.

Wadia explained, “Laura was very protective. She said Daniel had a reputation to protect and couldn’t ruin it. I presume she meant by being seen smoking. I said I didn’t know what she was talking about. But almost immediately afterwards, she and Daniel left.”

Cindy Crawford has become the victim of an extortion plot involving a photo of her daughter bound and gagged.

The supermodel and husband Rande Gerber’s former nanny is alleged to have taken a photo of then-seven-year-old Kaia tied to a chair and passed it on to suspect Edis Kayalar.

Court documents then claim Kayalar attempted to extort $100,000 from the couple and repeatedly threatened to sell or release the photograph to the media if they failed to pay.

In a statement, Cindy’s spokeswoman Annett Wolf said, “Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter.”

According to the documents, Kaia – who is now eight – told her parents the photo, which they had been unaware of, was taken during a “cops and robbers” game with the nanny.

Kayalar has now been deported to his native Germany and if convicted of extortion, he could face up to two years in prison.

Cindy and Rande married in 1998 and they also have a 10-year-old son Presley.

Taylor Swift celebrated her win at the Country Music Awards (CMAs) with a “cereal party”.

The 19-year-old singer, who won four awards, including Best Female Vocalist and Best Album, shunned the late-night parties to spend time with her family.

She wrote on her Twitter page, “Just wrapped up a cereal party with my mom and dad at the kitchen table. What a night.”

The blonde beauty also revealed she can’t stop hugging people because she’s so ecstatic with her haul of honors.

She added, “I have said ‘I love you’ to so many people tonight. I can’t stop hugging people. This is magical.”

Taylor, who was left mortified when Kanye West when stormed the stage when she collected an award at the MTV Video Music Awards in September, had previously said she couldn’t believe she had been given four of the top honors.

She said, “I feel like I’m walking around in a dream right now. It’s… the CMA Awards and four awards? I can’t even believe that!”

Eva Mendes uses her sexuality to get work.

The ‘Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans’ actress, who posed nude for a Calvin Klein perfume advertisement campaign, is happy to bare all for a film role and doesn’t mind being hired for her looks.

She said, “I don’t allow myself to be typecast, but when I have to turn up the heat and turn up the sexuality and I do an amazing Calvin Klein campaign it’s very conscious, that’s no accident. It’s very methodical on my part.

“If I feel it’s appropriate to show some nudity in the scenes then I go for it. As much as I use my sexuality, I have never felt exploited. I feel like it’s on my terms and I have no problem with it.”

The 35-year-old actress insists she wants to continue challenging herself with her work, revealing she still goes to school to boost her acting skills.

She added, “I want crazier, edgier, darker, and grittier. I am still a student, I still go to acting class. he darker, more conflicted, the more flawed the better.”

Leona Lewis has admitted her relationship is “difficult”.

The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer, who rose to fame after winning the 2006 series of British TV talent show ‘The X Factor,’ has known her boyfriend of five years, Lou Al-Chamaa, since she was 10 years old but admits their romance has experienced rocky patches following her worldwide success.

She said, “Well, we’re currently happy and together. It’s difficult sometimes, I won’t deny that, but we make it work. I’ve been through it – not all relationships are perfect.”

The ‘Happy’ star also admitted she is unsure about her long-term future with the electrician and has no plans to marry him as yet.

She added, “I don’t see us getting married for a long time yet – you really need to be certain with someone before you get married and, besides, my parents only married about four or five years ago so I just don’t believe you have to get married to be happy together.”

The British beauty also said she doesn’t care if people call her boring.

She added to Company magazine, “I still mess around when I’m with friends. But I haven’t got a lot of time and we’ve got so much to do, so my focus is for everything to look good.

“It’s irrelevant to me if people say I’m boring. They don’t know me as a person or what I’m like when I’m hanging out with my friends.”

Lindsay Lohan’s mother fears “time is running out” for the actress.

Dina Lohan, who has already expressed her fears her daughter may take her own life and has been cutting herself, told ex-husband Michael Lohan how the ‘Mean Girls’ had started drinking again and was concerned at what the alcohol would do to her.

She said in a leaked phone call posted on website Radar Online, “Time is running out with this kid. I know I’m her mother and I feel it and I’m scared.

“She’ll open up to you but it’s nothing compared to what’s going on with this kid. And don’t tell her I told you anything or try to weasel s**t out of her… she’ll tell you when she’s ready to talk about s**t. Right now all I know is she’s starting to drink and that’s bad.”

The phone call was made in 2008 and the tape, along with many others, have been leaked by Michael, much to Dina’s fury.

In other tapes, Dina told Michael – who is estranged from Lindsay – how the 23-year-old actress had been cutting herself as her life spirals more and more out of control.

She said, “Her cutting herself and hurting herself? Yeah, it’s bad Michael, it’s bad.”

Michael recently spoke of his fears for his daughter, saying she has an addiction to prescription drugs which he fears will kill her.

He said, “I want my daughter off prescription medication. She never needed it in her life… I’m not going to watch my daughter die. Hate me now, but you love me more later because I’m gonna turn her life around.”
