New York, NY (CNS) – Sirius XM Radio has announced the launch of a new 24-hour commercial-free channel devoted to the music of jazz legend Miles Davis. The Miles Davis Radio will run on a limited basis from November 20 to 25 on Sirius channel 72 and XM channel 70.

Miles Davis Radio will be hosted by the trumpeter’s son Erin Davis, his nephew drummer Vince Wilburn Jr., and legendary bassist Marcus Miller.

It will feature music from the late jazz icon’s extensive catalog, including over one hundred albums. It will showcase Davis’ never before heard soundtrack for the 1986 film “Wise Guys,” composed by Robert Irving III.

There will also be interviews with former Davis band members and various guests, such as Jimmy Cobb, Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Monty Alexander, Carlos Santana, Ron Carter, and Quincy Jones among many others.

Alec Baldwin isn’t nervous about hosting the Academy Awards.

The ‘30 Rock’ star is co-hosting next year’s ceremony with Steve Martin and believes there are higher expectations on the comic actor because he has fronted the Oscars ceremony before.

He quipped, “It is all on Steve. Steve Martin has done this before, while for me it is the first time. All the pressure is on Steve Martin.”

Despite his confidence, the actor is still amazed he was given the job and keeps waiting for someone to cancel his booking.

He joked, “I am doing it until they change their mind. I do have some preparations, but it is a secret.”

Steve, who fronted the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards, and Alec are the first people to co-host the ceremony since the first Oscars show in 1929.

Producers Adam Shankman and Adam Shankman said, “We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars.

“Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”

The 82nd Academy Awards take place on March 7 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

Hugh Grant says he can’t get a girlfriend because of his golf obsession.

The Hollywood bachelor, who previously dated actress Elizabeth Hurley for 13 years and socialite Jemima Khan for three years, has revealed the sport is his first love and he even gets up in the middle of the night to practice his swing.

The 49-year-old actor told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper, “When you say to a girl ‘I play golf’ her eyes glaze over. I do feel guilty about my golf. You know you’re a sad case when you spend your spare time reading books on putting or going on YouTube to watch slow motion golf swings.

“I’ll get out of bed in the middle of the night and practice my swing in front of the mirror. I’m obsessed and it’s destroying my life. Golf is an addiction.”

The ‘Notting Hill’ star, who has previously revealed he has travelled thousands of miles to play 18 holes, also spoke about the “physical sensation” he gets when he hits the little white balls.

He said, “I’ve decided the most addictive element is the physical sensation when in a rare moment you hit the ball flush in the middle of the club. The only thing that comes close is when I was taught to play the piano,the vibration when you hit a beautiful chord.”

Farrah Fawcett’s last living trust omitted long-term partner Ryan O’Neal.

The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ actress, who lost her battle with cancer in June aged 62, reportedly left $4.5 million to son Redmond O’Neal and $100,000 to ex-boyfriend Greg Lott, who has recently claimed he was the star’s secret boyfriend but had been banned from seeing her by Ryan.

However, Ryan and close friends Alana Stewart and Craig Nevius, who chronicled the actress’ cancer battle in TV documentary ‘Farrah’s Story,’ were not named in the document, which was most recently updated on August 9, 2007 and appeared to have been signed by the actress.

Farrah also left $500,000 each to her nephew Greg Walls and father James Fawcett.

The document, obtained by website RadarOnline, also shows that Farrah’s last wishes were ignored.

The trust states, “Settlor declares that she wishes to remain at home for as long as possible during any period of illness or incapacity and to die at home.”

Farrah passed away at St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica, California on June 25.

Ryan, who is the father of recovering alcohol and drug addict Redmond, and Farrah’s 15-year relationship ended in 1997 but the pair reunited in 2006 shortly after she was diagnosed with anal cancer.

Farrah and Ryan’s relationship was tempestuous, with the ‘Love Story’ actor’s son Griffin O’Neal previously saying his dad couldn’t stay faithful.

Griffin said, “Was he faithful to her in the relationship? No. Are you kidding? She walked in on him and he was with some other woman.

“Their relationship was bombastic at times. There were great times. There were very hard times. By the time Redmond was five, they lived in separate rooms in a very large house.”

Johnny Depp will receive at least $35.3 million for making the new ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film, it has been revealed.

The 46-year-old star, who plays the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie franchise, is returning for the fourth installment and is set to become Hollywood’s highest-paid actor, topping the likes of Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson and Tom Hanks, with the huge pay day.

The ‘Sleepy Hollow’ actor is guaranteed the $35.3 million as a minimum for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’, due for release in the 2011, and could receive even more should it be a huge box-office hit.

Disney bosses are paying Depp such a high fee because his co-stars from the previous three movies, Keira Knightley, 24, and 32-year-old Orlando Bloom, have dropped out.

Geoffrey Rush will once again play Captain Barbossa, while Penelope Cruz is rumored to be in line to take the female lead.

Depp recently vowed to save Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage from financial ruin after because of a massive unpaid tax bill.

The star pledged to support the ‘Con Air’ actor through his plight because of the assistance he gave him when he was first trying to make it in Hollywood.

A source said, “Johnny feels he owes his career to Nicolas and now wants to repay him – if Nicolas agrees.”

Rihanna made her live return in London last night, November 16 – her first full concert since she was assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February.

The singer debuted tracks from her forthcoming album ‘Rated R’, including ‘Wait Your Turn’ and ‘Hard’, and was joined on stage by rapper Jay-Z for ‘Run This Town’ and ‘Umbrella’.

The 45-minute show at the 02 Academy Brixton was attended by music industry guests and competition winners, but also broadcast live across the internet on the Nokia website.

A guest at the concert told BANG Showbiz, “She may have been away for nine months, but she has certainly not lost anything when it comes to her voice. She sounded incredible, hit every note and completely owned the stage.

“She also had two backing dancers dressed in hijabs. She pulled off some very sexy moves, she even grabbed a mannequin’s crotch at one point!”

Dressed in a provocative leotard and sporting a shock of dyed blonde hair, Rihanna was backed by a live band, showcasing a new, more rock orientated sound for her new LP.

The 21-year-old pop star recently revealed she sought solace in the recording studio following the vicious assault by Chris, which left her battered and bruised and resulted in Chris being sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counseling and five years probation.

She said, “When I was given time off in March it was a little crazy. Being at home was driving me mad.

“I couldn’t go anywhere. It was, like, ‘Look at the poor victim!’ So I called my label and said, ‘I’m ready.’ ”

If you’re under the age of 30, you’re probably not too familiar with Ken Ober or the classic MTV game show Remote Control. (Clip below.)

You can actually thank Remote Control in part for all the later music-free programming- it was the first item on MTV’s lineup to not be related to music. The premise (admittedly, a lot of this went over my head at the age of seven or eight, though I recall finding it hilarious) was that Ober, the host, wanted badly to host his own TV game show. Set up in his “mother’s basement,” the set had a rec room feel, with barcaloungers, sunburst clocks and retro light fixtures dangling over contestants heads. Adam Sandler, Denis Leary and Colin Quinn all appeared on the show regularly. In the intervening years (Remote Control’s aired from 1987-1990), Ober has worked behind the scenes on a variety of projects, including Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn (which was also excellent and underrated), The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Mind of Mencia.

A manager at Brillstein Entertainment Partners, who represented Ober for over 20 years, confirmed his death to press yesterday. Ober is reported to have been complaining about flu-like symptoms as late as Saturday, but cause of death is unknown. Ober is survived by his parents and a brother.

Madonna is setting up a new Brazilian children’s charity.

The ‘Celebration’ singer met with wealthy business people and politicians during her recent five-day trip to the South American country and managed to secure a $7 million donation for Success for Kids from Brazil’s richest man, Eike Batista.

Madonna was invited to the father-of-two’s estate on the island of Angra Dos Reis on Saturday, November 14, to discuss the project after Batista agreed to fund a large proportion of her latest charitable venture.

During dinner, Batista, who has an estimated $7.5 billion fortune, offered to give Madonna $7 million after asking how much more she needed to set up her charity’s initial projects, leaving the pop superstar in tears.

At the meal, Madonna declared her love for the country, saying, “I worship Brazil.”

During her trip to Brazil, Madonna was accompanied by her rabbi.

Despite speculation her visit to Rio de Janeiro was to meet her Brazilian boyfriend Jesus Luz’s family, she insisted she was there to carry out humanitarian work.

Speaking ahead of her visit, she said, “I am going there strictly for fund-raising and humanitarian purposes.”

Paris Hilton is stopping her boyfriend seeing his friends, it has been claimed.

‘The Hills’ star Brody Jenner hasn’t seen Doug Reinhardt since he reconciled with the socialite in August and insists their friendship is now over.

Brody told Closer magazine, “We used to be best friends, now I never see him. Some people are so involved in relationships they lose their other friends. Partners come and go your friends are there for you always. I’m done. Paris has taken him away.”

Meanwhile, Paris is said to be furious that former friend Kim Kardashian and her family are now more famous than she is.

A source said, “Paris is furious that Kim got her start by hanging out in Hollywood with her and now the Kardashians have it all – the reality shows, the magazine covers, the big appearance fees and promotional deals.

“She used to command $100,000 for club appearances, but now Kim is the hottest girl, and they aren’t friends anymore. The magazines are bidding around $300,000 for Kourtney’s baby shower and baby pictures. And Khloe’s wedding brought in record ratings.”

Amy Winehouse has made a “miraculous” recovery from her addictions.

The singer’s father Mitch Winehouse is delighted with his daughter’s progress as she battles her drug and alcohol problems and believes she should be given more credit for her hard work.

He told Heat magazine, “She’s doing fantastic and I don’t think enough credit is given to her about what she’s achieved over the last year. It’s been nothing short of miraculous.”

The ‘Back to Black’ singer, who spent several months earlier this year living on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia, has just spent $59,000 on a breast enlargement operation, which Mitch claims was a way of her getting some control of her life.

He said, “I think she looks great, every bit of her including the boobs.”

Mitch also likened his daughter, who recently divorced Blake Fielder-Civil but is rumored to have rekindled her romance with him, to Kerry Katona and Katie Price.

He said, “They all have a knack of choosing the wrong men.”
