Halle Berry is “proud” of Rihanna.

The ‘X-Men’ actress, who has previously spoken about the abuse she and her mother suffered at the hands of their partners, is relieved the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker ended her relationship with Chris Brown after he assaulted her in February.

She said, “Any time a woman frees herself from that kind of bondage and that kind of situation I’m proud.”

Meanwhile, Halle has denied she and long-term boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, with whom she has 19-month-old daughter Nahla, are planning to have another child, insisting she is too busy with working on her new perfume range.

When asked if she was contemplating having another baby, she told US TV show ‘Access Hollywood’: “Not my real baby, but my career baby and it’s called Pure Orchid. I have to say it’s pretty.”

Halle recently admitted she used to be attracted to abusive men because she regularly saw her father attacking her mother when she was growing up.

She said, “My mother was a battered woman and that was my childhood for a good chunk of it.

“Early on in my life, I made choices, and I chose men that were abusive because that was what I knew growing up.”

However, she underwent therapy and learned what to do if and when a relationship became violent.

Lily Allen has made a U-turn in her stance on music piracy.

The ‘Not Fair’ singer, who launched a scathing attack on illegal file-sharing on her MySpace blog and attacked indie group Radiohead for giving their latest album away on a pay-what-you-want basis, claims she doesn’t care if people copy her albums and sell them on for a profit.

Lily, 24, told UK radio station Key 103 Radio: “If someone comes up with a burnt copy of my CD and offers it to you for £4, I haven’t a problem with that as long as the person buying it places some kind do of value on my music.”

In Lily’s original blog post she said downloading was starving up-and-coming artists of money they need to keep producing music, and attacked the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) – whose members include Travis singer Fran Healy, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree and Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien.

She wrote, “I’m going to be writing to British artists, saying just this: File sharing’s not OK for British music. We need to find new ways to help consumers access and buy music legally, but saying file sharing’s fine is not helping anyone and definitely not helping British music.”

The FAC recently called for the British government to abandon proposals to cut off the internet connections of people who illegally download music.

James Van Der Beek has filed for divorce.

The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star split from actress Heather McComb earlier this year and has now started legal proceedings to officially end their six-year marriage.

The papers were filed at a Los Angeles court and James cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their break-up.

The pair tied the knot in Malibu in 2003, six months after the sixth and final season of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ aired.

James’ co-stars Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips attended the intimate ceremony.

Friends suspected a divorce was brewing when the couple sold their $2.5 million home in Studio City, California, in March.

They put the mansion, which features 180-degree canyon, mountain and city views, and a luxurious mist cooling system, on the market.

Since they tied the knot, James – who played Dawson Leery in the US teen drama – has guest starred in ‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘One Tree Hill’, ‘Ugly Betty’ and ‘Medium’.

Heather has appeared in ‘Prison Break’, ‘Crossing Jordan’ and ‘CSI: New York’.

Nine people suffered minor injuries and a bus driver was killed when the tour bus of teen pop star Miley Cyrus flipped over about 40 miles south of Richmond, VA.

Miley was not on board at the time of the crash, which was apparently caused by the bus “drifting” off a wet road. The crash occurred at about 8:15 a.m. Friday on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie, VA. Cyrus has a show scheduled for Sunday in Greensboro, NC.

Hugh Grant is ready to have children.

The Hollywood bachelor, whose relationships with actress Elizabeth Hurley and socialite Jemima Khan broke down because he didn’t want to settle down, now feels is qualified to be a dad after getting plenty of practice helping with his nephews, nieces and godchildren.

But the 49-year-old actor admits he would employ a team of nannies to help raise his offspring.

Hugh, who is currently single said, “Ten years ago, I wouldn’t have thought about having children at all. But now I have so many nephews and nieces and cousins and godchildren, I like the thought.

“But that’s on the basis that I can leave after ten minutes. I don’t know what it would be like 24 hours a day. I think I’d have a lot of nannies.”

Asked if he still believes he will raise a family of his own, he added to Parade magazine: “Yes, yes, yes. I have not given up hope!

“I find I’m not as bad with children as I used to be.”

The ‘Music and Lyrics’ star even has theories on how to raise the perfect child, by not smothering them with love.

He explained, “If you have a smothering parent, the effect it can apparently have on a child is to give them, in equal doses, a sense of too much self-esteem, because they are mummy’s little princess or prince, and low self-esteem. It affects future relationships.”

Zac Efron’s fans are so obsessed with him they even traveled to an island to see him.

The ‘High School Musical’ actor was shooting new movie ‘Me and Orson Wells’ on the Isle of Man, a small island located in the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland, and was stunned to discover his legion of female fans had even managed to hunt him down there.

He said, “I was looking forward to that seclusion. From what I heard it was a pretty quiet place and there weren’t a lot of people there. But they found it. But I felt pretty welcome.”

The movie is something of a departure for Zac, who is famous for playing clean-cut jock Troy Bolton in the hit ‘High School Musical’ films, admits he was looking for something a bit “riskier” when he accepted the part.

Zac, who plays a teenage student who, by luck, gets to work with a young Orson Welles, the acclaimed American writer and director, in the coming-of-age drama said, “I was looking for that opportunity, something fresh.”

Zac wasn’t concerned his large, mostly teen fan base, wouldn’t have heard of Orson Welles.

He said, “Perhaps the fans that don’t know about Orson maybe have more of an opinion now when they study this stuff at school… some insight into the early life of this American icon.”

Miley Cyrus felt “anxious and insecure” working with Liam Hemsworth.

The ‘Hannah Montana’ star is rumored to be dating her ‘The Last Song’ co-star, who she describes as her “best friend,” and although she won’t confirm the romance speculation, she says she is amazed by how much they understand one another.

She said, “I’ve never gotten along with someone so well. I was a little anxious about making this movie; I wanted everything to be perfect. To go on set and feel insecure was a totally new element for me. But he felt the same way. He admitted his insecurities, and it was really nice to have someone who understands me for once.”

The 16-year-old singer-and-actress also admitted one of the reasons why she deleted her Twitter account was to protect her relationship with the Australian actor.

She explained to Seventeen magazine, “It sucks when your personal life becomes public. So I’m finding ways to make my personal and private life more of my life – which is one of the reasons why I deleted my Twitter. We’ve decided that any type of relationship that we have, we will always just keep it very D.L (down low). First and foremost, we are best friends, so that’s what I tell people all the time.”

While she won’t comment on any romance, Miley is thankful for Liam’s support and admits he makes her feel special.

She added, “Liam has been a big part of that. All you want is for one person to say, ‘You did a really good job today.’ Or, ‘You look really beautiful,’ or, ‘I was really moved by that.’ You just want one person to make you feel good about something you’re doing.”

Rachel McAdams needed to do lots of yoga to fit into her ‘Sherlock Holmes’ outfit.

The actress had to wear a lot of tight-fitting corsets for her role as Irene Adler in Guy Ritchie’s new movie about the British fictional detective and admits it was a struggle to get them on.

She said, “I wasn’t allowed to take that corset off! I had to rely on yoga exercises! Don’t get me wrong, I’m such a girly girl, I was in heaven being dressed in these incredible costumes. But it was like something out of ’Gone With The Wind’. I’m holding onto the trailer door trying to eek out just a little bit of space so that I can speak properly. Each morning, they tried to make me laugh and on the laugh they’d yank – that’s how they managed to squeeze me in every day.”

Rachel also joked she was so desperate to be in the film, she had to beg Guy for her part.

She quipped to Total Film magazine, “I hunted Guy down and camped on his doorstep until he relented! OK, no, we had a chat in a garden and it went from there… Fortunately, it worked out for me.”

Rachel Hunter is reportedly dating Eddie Irvine.

The New Zealand-born model is said to be getting over her split from ice hockey player Jarret Stoll, who ended their relationship just seven weeks before they were due to marry this year, by spending time with the former Formula One racing driver.

Guests at the Cinema Society’s after-party for ‘Broken Embraces’, which was held at New York’s Standard Hotel, saw 40-year-old Rachel “giggling and flirting” with Eddie.

Rachel, who was previously married to singer Rod Stewart, was heartbroken when Jarret walked out on her in June, leaving her to email guests and tell them their August wedding was off.

A source said at the time, “Rachel is absolutely devastated. Everything was in place for their wedding, she had the venue, the designer dress, the guest list.

“She has absolutely no idea why Jarret has done this. It sounds like it could be a classic case of cold feet.”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is to star in the Broadway production of ‘Chicago’.

The 25-year-old star played murderess Roxie Hart in the London West End version of the musical and is now reprising the part in New York’s famous theater district.

Ashlee starts her run on November 30 and admits she can’t wait to tread the boards once again.

She said, “I’m honored to be reprising my role as Roxie Hart, returning to the stage and joining this amazing cast. Being on Broadway is a childhood dream come true.”

Big sister Jessica, 29, is thrilled Ashlee has landed the part after her disappointment of being axed from US TV series ‘Melrose Place’ last month.

Jessica wrote on her Twitter page, “I can’t wait to watch Ash’ on Broadway in all of her glory!!! I get chillbumps from toes to noggin thinking about it!!! YAY!!!! (sic)”
