Proving perhaps once and for all that there is no God, The Twilight Saga: New Moon’s opening day sales have broken two box office records.

New Moon broke the record for midnight ticket sales Thursday ($26.3 million), and bought home opening day sales of $72.7 million Friday, ahead of the previous record held by The Dark Knight which made $62.2 million.

Industry observers though believe that New Moon won’t break any records over the weekend based on the previous box office for the first Twilight film, which dropped 41% on the Saturday following a similar big Friday opening.

Sales for New Moon for its opening weekend are being estimated at $110-$120 million.

A Courteney Cox family matter has bought filming on TV series Cougar Town to a halt as Cox has had to leave to tend to it.

What the Courteney Cox family matter is though is a complete mystery; an ABC rep would only confirm that “production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter” and reps for Cox won’t fess up to what the issue is either.

Cox is married to David Arquette, and the couple have one child. Reports earlier this year suggested that with her clock ticking at 45, she wanted to have another child.

Cougar Town has been one of the more successful new shows this year, with the show being picked up for a full season in October.

It’s the weekend, and that means its time for a fake celebrity rumor, and first off the mark Saturday is a Robert Pattinson dead rumor.

According to reports circulation, Robert Pattinson was found dead in his hotel in New York City due to a heroin overdose.

Notably, perhaps highlighting that there’s only so many ways you can fake kill a celebrity, the same rumor circulated nearly 12 months ago to the day.

For the record, Robert Pattinson is not dead, Robert Pattinson has not died, although we sincerely wish he career (along with the whole Twilight series) would.

The victim in this morning’s Miley Cyurs bus crash has been identified as the driver of the crashed bus.

53 year old Austin, Texas resident William G. Douglas, also known as “Uncle Bill” was named as the only person to have died among the nine injured in the crash.

The Cyrus family said in a statement that “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill “Uncle Bill” Douglas. Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed .”

As we reported previously, Miley was not on board at the time of the crash, which was apparently caused by the bus “drifting” off a wet road.
