David Hasselhoff Reported To Be Under Psychiatric Hold

David Hasselhoff psychiatric hold

Authorities may have finally stepped in to save David Hasselhoff from himself with a new report claiming that the fallen star has been detained under a involuntary 72 hour psychiatric hold.

Radar Online claims that Hasselhoff was “picked up under the California Welfare and Institutions Code 5150 that allows authorities to take into custody persons they believe may be a danger to themselves or others, are gravely disabled or suffer from a mental disorder.”

The order follows Hasselhoff ending up in hospital Friday morning after passing out following yet another drinking session. The admission to hospital, as we noted at the time, was the third time Hasselhoff had been admitted to hospital this year following a drinking session.

Tiger Woods releases statement via web about crash, alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel keeps quiet

tiger woods statement

Tiger Woods has blown off meeting with cops about the one-car accident for the third day in a row, opting instead to release a statement on his website asking press and fans to please leave him the hell alone.

Woods was cryptic in the statement, as was alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel when confronted by press early this morning outside her apartment. Rather than denying the rumors or declining comment, Uchitel said:

“You know I would love to speak to you, but you know that I can’t,” Uchitel said when approached by a Daily News reporter. “I really wish that I could say something, I really wish I could.”

Hmm… In contrast, below is Woods’ statement on the incident:

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

One of the best sci-fi short movies yet [VIDEO]

movie

I came across this great sci-fi movie short over at the Quiet Earth blog via a post by Alex Billington at FirstShowing.net. Now Alex isn’t all that hot over the video that has been getting a lot of web-play since being dropped on the web but I thought it was really cool and wanted to share.

It should also be mentioned that the director of this little gem, Federico Alvarez, has just signed a movie deal worth $30 to $40 million with Ghost House Picture for a script yet to be written. Who says good things can’t happen to people with imagination eh.
