Glenn Beck added a new mix to his radio show this morning when he suffered an unexpected attack of appendicitis.

According to reports, Beck left the show complaining that he was not feeling well., and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he had his appendix removed. Spokesman for Beck joked that “before going under Glenn asked the doctor to draw out the surgery procedure on a blackboard.”

Later reports suggest that Glenn Beck’s Appendicitis surgery went well and he is expected to make a full recovery. Andrew Napolitano is guest hosting Beck’s Fox News in his absence.

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean, outspoken anti-gay Christian spokesperson has….wait for it… a sex tape.

According to reports, Prejean and the Miss USA California pageant have dropped lawsuits against each other due to the presence of the sex tape, according to TMZ. The site claims that Carrie backed down from her multi-million dollar suit after a lawyer for the pageant showed her the tape.

An official statement only read that “Carrie Prejean, [pageant director] Keith Lewis, and K2 Productions [the pageant producers] have dropped their claim against each other and wish each other the best in their future endeavors.”

“We are moving forward from the past and looking towards the crowning of two winners and the new look of the upcoming Miss California USA pageant, telecast live on Nov. 22″ the statement continued.

Sadly it would appear that the Carrie Prejean sex tape will probably remain unpublished as part of the deal, which is a shame really, I’m sure all the gay haters that are her fans would have loved it….well, presuming it didn’t show her with another woman.

Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are to co-host the Academy Awards.

The comedians will be the first people to co-host the ceremony as a pair since the first Oscars show in 1929.

Steve joked, “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin.”

Steve, who has presented the show twice before, earned an Emmy Award nomination for his first turn in 2001, but this will be the first time ‘30 Rock’ star Alec has taken on hosting duties.

Referring to Steve’s musical abilities, Alec joked, “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Oscars producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic said, “We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars.

“Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”

Baldwin was Oscar-nominated in 2004 for his role in ‘The Cooler’ and won consecutive Emmy awards for his role in ‘30 Rock’, which Martin has also guest-starred in.

Among the actors expected to receive nominations at the 82nd Academy Awards, which take place on March 7, are Meryl Streep for ‘Julie and Julia’, Christoph Waltz for ‘Inglourious Basterds’ and George Clooney for ‘Up In The Air’.

Critically acclaimed drama ‘Precious’ – starring singer Mariah Carey – is widely-tipped to receive the nod for Best Picture.

Hugh Grant said most of his films leave him feeling “suicidal”.

The ‘Love Actually’ actor told how when he has saw the first cuts of a number of his films – which include the hugely successful ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ and ‘Notting Hill’- he felt so bad about his performances he wanted to die.

He said, “Normally, when I see the first cut I’m suicidal. I want to go to that euthanasia clinic in Switzerland, Dignitas, and have myself put down.”

Despite his negativity, the actor was pleasantly surprised when he saw an early version of his latest film, comedy ‘Did You Hear About The Morgans?’ in which he stars alongside Sarah Jessica Parker.

Hugh, 49, added, “This film looks a lot better. This one is quite beautiful.”

The self-proclaimed “reluctant actor” has threatened to quit Hollywood many times and to give up acting, even claiming he was semi-retired after appearing in ‘Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason’ in 2004. He said the reason is because he “freezes up” in front of the cameras.

He explained, “I like everything about filming except the acting. I’m wonderful in rehearsals, but I have never been very good when they actually switch the cameras on.

“In recent years I’ve had really bad attacks where I totally froze up. I thought, ‘Well, if I am going to get stage fright, then I am packing it in.’ ”

He did, however, add he would not consider joining the theatre.

He added, “I’m not suited to the theatre. I get bored after the first week.”

Russell Brand is set to propose to Katy Perry.

The British comedian, who has been linked to a string of beauties in the past and is known for his womanizing ways, has amazed friends with his new attitude to romance and pals are convinced he is getting ready to ask the singer to marry him.

A source close to Russell said, “We’ve never seen him like this. He always has a woman on his arm, or in his bed, and hasn’t been interested in monogamy.

“But this is different – we all think it won’t be long before he marries Katy. I’m waiting for a call to say they are in that Little Chapel in Vegas and have run off to get married.”

Former Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher added, “He’s a changed man, Russell.”

The 34-year-old ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ star admitted he has never been happier than since he embarked on his romance with Katy, 25.

He said, “To be honest I haven’t stopped smiling. She’s a lovely girl and it’s going really, really well. In fact I’ve never felt more settled in all my life. Katy is fantastic. I’m really happy.”

Earlier this week Russell, who was first romantically linked to Katy at the MTV Video Music Awards in September, admitted he was ready to settle down and start a family.

He said, “I am ready for children actually. It’s been seven years since I took drugs. I’ve made a film. I don’t have to fight so much. I’ve grown weary of the carousel.”

David Beckham’s wife has bought him some pigs.

Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham paid $2,300 for two miniature pot-bellied Gloucester Old Spot cross-breed animals for the soccer star as an early Christmas present

A source said, “What can you possibly buy the multi-millionaire, superstar footballer who has absolutely everything?

“In the case of David Beckham, the answer is, obviously, a pair of cuddly designer piglets.

“Victoria fell in love with them and realized she’d found the perfect present.”

The former Spice Girls star was said to be particularly keen on the pigs, which David wants to name Pinky and Perky after characters in a children’s TV show, because they are easy to house-train.

The source added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “”Micro pigs are incredibly clean and easy to train. They will be given the run of the place and could even end up watching TV on David and Victoria’s laps.”

The couple – who have three children, Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, seven, and Cruz, four – are not the only stars to think pigs make perfect pets.

Earlier this month, Paris Hilton added a fully-grown micro-pig called Miss Pigelette to her collection of animals, while ‘Harry Potter’ star Rupert Grint has adopted two of the animals.

George Clooney spearheaded the trend for pig ownership with his giant potbellied pig, Max, and was devastated when the animal died in 2006 after 18 years together.

Hilary Swank says learning to fly is like reading a book.

The actress took piloting lessons to prepare for her role as famous aviator Amelia Earhart in upcoming movie ‘Amelia’, and says the experience of trying a new skill transported her back to childhood.

Hilary said, “Putting my hands on the wheel for the first time was a rush. After a certain age, there’s not many firsts you experience in your life, so learning to fly reminded me of the childlike feeling of exhilaration when you first ride a bike or read a book.”

Hilary, 35, was disappointed to be banned by film bosses from completing her full pilot training and plans to continue working towards her license in future – even though she struggled to get to grips with some elements of the course.

She explained to The Scotsman newspaper, “I’d like to get my licence and continue to go up on my own.

“I flew for 19 hours, but they couldn’t let me go up when they were shooting. I taxi the plane, but that’s on the ground, and I would like to see this through. What I didn’t know when I started was the calculations that go into flying. It was like I was back in school doing calculus. I don’t sweat much, but I’d do a two-hour flight and I’d be drenched from the concentration.

“I do want to go back. I don’t want to just say, ‘Yeah, I flew.’ ”

The ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ star also had different experiences of flying, jetting across the world so frequently to promote her projects that flight attendants started to mock her.

She explained, “The air staff actually laugh at me because they know me so well and they tell me it’s illegal for them to fly as much as I do. I’m constantly in the air.”

Mariah Carey uses “uplifting” songs to help troubled fans.

The ‘Hero’ hitmaker stars in harrowing movie ‘Precious’ based on best-selling novel ‘Push’ about an obese teenager who has two children through incestuous rape, and believes her music has helped girls in similar situations to the main character.

She said, “There are a lot of girls that I see at my shows that may fit the description of what people might think a ‘Precious’ girl is. When I sing certain songs, you really see that it brings out emotions in them.

“I see tears of gratitude or joy because they relate to the message. So that’s why I continue to do songs that I feel will be uplifting.”

Mariah, who plays a social worker in the film, said she could relate to the plight of the characters in ‘Push’, but it also made her more aware of other people’s suffering.

She added to Parade magazine, “I guess the button that the story pushed in me would be just empathy. I mean your heart has to go out to Precious because she is going through so much. It touched me as a woman. It touched me just as a person.

“It’s like you think, ‘Maybe I’ve walked past someone who is a girl like this and not really focused on them or just totally ignored them.’

“And it’s also one of those things where you relate something in yourself, your own feelings of doubt and negativity. And while you haven’t suffered nearly as much, you know what you’ve gone through is similar.”

Rihanna felt like “Britney Spears” after she was attacked by Chris Brown.

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker was astonished by the attention she attracted after she was abused by her then-boyfriend in February, likening it to that of which the ‘Womanizer’ singer received following her well-publicized breakdown in 2007.

She said, “I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”

Despite the horrific attack and subsequent publicity it generated, the 21-year-old singer is trying to remain positive and wants to be a role model for other women experiencing similar ordeals.

She added, “The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that.

“I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.

“Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight.

“Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight.

“It’s one of the things women will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery.”

Chris attacked Rihanna in his car as they left a pre-Grammy Awards party in February, repeatedly punching her in the face and biting her arms.

He pleaded guilty to assault and in August was sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counseling and five years probation.

The judge also issued a restraining order which requires him to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna for five years.

Copenhagen, Denmark (CNS) – Rockers Kings of Leon are moving out of the chart-topping business and into creating tops, as well as jeans, and accessories. The “Use Somebody” singers are starting their own fashion line complete with flannel shirts and black leather jackets.

The band joins Paris-based Surface to Air in creating the collection, which is set to be sold exclusively in Copenhagen boutique Paris, Texas. Available in only a limited amount of pieces, the collection is expected to hit the store in early December.

The collection includes pieces regularly found in Kings of Leon’s wardrobe, including flannel shirts available in both red and grey. Along with some skinny denim with patchwork, the collection also includes a black leather bomber jacket and a pocket tee.

“Now it’s time to start creating the next musical chapter in the novel that is Kings of Leon,” said band member Nathan Followill earlier this month on his Twitter. The next chapter must include creating accessories, as the band’s new collection also includes a red bandana, scarf, braided belt, shoes, and even jewelery. It can also all be topped off with a black hat with slim buckle detail.
