Canton, OH (CNS) – Kid Rock and Dave Grohl aren’t letting anyone steal their music. The rockers have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit on a small bar in Canton, Ohio.

According to TMZ.com, Mallonn’s Grill & Bar is facing a lawsuit after playing tunes without having the necessary licensing agreements. Rock and Grohl want the bar to discontinue playing any of their music and they are suing for damages.

They aren’t the first musicians to make the news for suing establishments. Within the last month, Taylor Swift, Gwen Stefani and Bon Jovi have also filed various suits against bars across the nation for ripping off their tunes.

I have to admit that the show “Lost” lost me at around the third season but that won’t stop me from sharing a brand new promo trailer for the show that has popped up on the web. It is an extension of the previous 30-second spot that was set to the Willie Nelson cover of “Amazing Grace”.

Johnny Depp can’t understand why he wins awards.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor, who was recognized with a career achievement award at the  last night December 12, feels “stupefied” as to why his “strange” work would be honored by anyone.

He said, “Whenever anybody says they are going to give me some kind of award, I’m always a little stupefied by the notion. The first thing I say is, ‘Why?’

“I just go to work like anyone else, except my job happens to be a little stranger.”

The 46-year-old actor, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his performance ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,’ also admitted he is surprised to still get offers of work.

He joked, “I’m still amazed I get jobs after all this time.”

Paying tribute to Johnny, who was presented with his award at the Balmoral Club in Nassau by Sir Sean Connery, festival founder Leslie Vanderpool described him as an “icon”.

In a statement, Leslie added, “What makes this tribute to Johnny even more special is that he has a home in the Bahamas and possesses a true love and appreciation for the region and culture.”

I’ll cop to it right now: yes, as a born and bred Long Islander, I am watching the trainwreck that is Jersey Shore with a combination of horror, amusement and a decent sized dash of “there but for the grace of God go I.”

The Daily Show annoyingly pegged the relationship between Long Island and Jersey as conjoined twins dead on. Jersey Shore could easily be taking place in any number of towns and villages a stone’s throw from my hometown of Babylon- and the most viral clip from the show “stars” a violent goombah thug type from one of the next towns over, Deer Park. Thank you, Brad Ferro, for making the connection the rest of us have been violently trying to shake off since the show began airing and giving Jersey Shore a verifiable Long Island connection by punching Snooki/Snookie in the face.

It’s a conundrum for feminists everywhere, because no one wants to see a girl sucker punched in a sleazy club, but if you want to see one girl punched, it’s this one. Tanned and teased and nasal, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is a self-styled Italian-American princess drama queen. Snooki dominated the first episodes of the show with a contrived dramatic episode about leaving the house. The clip also presents an interesting dilemma for MTV- Snooki/Snookie getting punched in the face is the most sought out clip from the show, but advertisers don’t want to be involved with the controversial episode. The clip has been virtually scrubbed from the internet, and MTV decided finally not to air the assault despite the ratings draw:

“What happened to “Snooki” was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing,” said an MTV spokesman in a statement. “After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in next week’s episode. The show will still make it clear what events transpired, including the full aftermath.”

The animated GIF above seems to be the only available footage of the event. Snooki/Snookie sustained “an injury to the inside of her mouth” from the assault.

Chris Brown is furious major US stores are refusing to stock his latest album.

The ‘I Can Transform Ya’ singer, who was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February, leaving her covered in cuts and bruises, has posted angry messages on his twitter account blasting stores who refuse to sell his LP ‘Graffiti’.

He wrote, “I’m tired of this s**t. major stores are blackballing my CD. Not stocking the shelves and lying to customers. what the f**k do I gotta do? (sic)”

He later added, “WTF… yeah I said it and I aint retracting s**t.

“I’m not biting my tongue about s**t else… The industry can kiss my a*s. (sic)”

Chris, 20, has received widespread criticism for his attack on Rihanna, 21, following a pre-Grammy Awards party.

He was found guilty of the assault and ordered to carry out 80 hours of community labour, undergo 12 months of domestic violence counseling and received five years probation for the incident. He also has to stay at least 100 yards away from Rihanna for the next five years.

Since the attack, Chris vowed to “learn from” his behavior.

He said, “Domestic violence is totally wrong whatever the circumstances, no exceptions.

“I’m only 20. This is a bad mistake I made, but one that I’m not denying nor running away from. I don’t believe I should let it shatter my life.

“I’m owning up to the wrongs I’ve done and am working on myself. I’m trying to find the positive amid the negative. I’m urging people to learn from what I did and not take the same route. If I do that – act as an example – then I feel I have no reason to go through the rest of my life with my head hanging down.”

Nicole Kidman’s husband and baby watched her latest film.

The Oscar-winning actress had just given birth to 17-month-old daughter Sunday Rose when she started shooting musical movie ‘Nine’ so took her and her spouse Keith Urban to work with her so they could all be together.

The film’s director Rob Marshall said, “She was excited to be part of a company and go back to work right away. And her baby was on set with us. It was beautiful.”

The movie’s choreographer John DeLuca said, “Keith just watched and had this big smile while holding the baby. It was nice to have little Sunday Rose there.”

Although Keith is a huge country music star, he didn’t offer any advice vocal tips to his wife for her singing role.

Rob added to ‘E!’, “Keith was always there, but he stepped back into the background. He just steps back, which is really nice.”

Nicole recently revealed she took on her role in ‘Nine’ to prove there is more to life than motherhood.

She explained, “I’d just given birth, so I was like, ‘OK, I’m still a woman – I want to do this film! And I do have a life other than simply feeding this baby.’ I think when you give birth you get itchy to get back to work and you want to feel life still goes on.”

Leona Lewis believes in aliens.

The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer is concerned for the future of the planet and believes it will only be saved when occupied by other “life forms”.

She told The Sun newspaper, “We’ve done so much damage I worry the world will have to end and start again.

“It will be the next people who occupy the planet who will learn from our mistakes. People are too selfish to stop the things that have caused global warming now.

“But the universe is too big for us to be the only life forms.”

The vegetarian singer – who performs ‘I See You’, the theme song from new blockbuster science fiction movie ‘Avatar’ – hopes to meet an extra-terrestrial, especially if they are like the otherworldly Na’vi who appear in James Cameron’s movie.

She added, “I hope aliens are like the Na’vi. I really like them.

“They care about the things I’m passionate about – nature, the planet, the environment.

“This song required a powerful performance so I had to find an emotional connection. I found one to them.”

Leona is not the only star who believes in aliens.

Robbie Williams is fanatical about extra-terrestrials and regularly takes late night trips in the hope of spotting UFOs.

The ‘Angels’ hitmaker claims to have had three close encounters of the third kind over the years and believes in ghosts.

He said, “People will think I’m mental – which I am!”

Renee Zellweger is set to move in with boyfriend Bradley Cooper.

The Oscar-winning actress and her ‘Case 39’ co-star have been house-hunting together in Los Angeles because they want to take their relationship to the next level.

A source is quoted by gossip blogger Perez Hilton as saying, “Until Renee, Bradley had a reputation as a ladies’ man and a heartbreaker, but he seems so happy with her. They prefer to stay in rather than hang out at show business parties, and he has already introduced her to his parents.”

In October, it was reported Renee was going to be introduced to Bradley’s parents so he could get their approval.

A source said, “Things have been heading in this direction for the two of them for a while, but this definitely solidifies how serious they are.”

“It’s quite serious. Renee and Bradley are crazy about each other.”

Robbie Williams’ mother is putting pressure on him to have children.

The ‘Bodies’ singer, who is dating actress Ayda Field, has revealed his mother Janet is so desperate for him to settle down and start a family, she told people he was already engaged to try and hurry him along.

He said, “I’m probably going to get married but I didn’t get engaged on the radio the other week. It was just part of the interview. Then my mum went, ‘Oh yes, oh yes. I’ve bought the hat, I’ve bought a card.’ She just wants grandkids. She just wants to speed up the process.”

Last month, Robbie jokingly proposed to his lover of three-years during a live interview with an Australian radio station.

He said to Ayda, “Will you marry me, baby? Ayda Field, I love you so much, would you mind being my betrothed until the end of time?”

The 30-year-old beauty replied, “Yes, I’ll marry you.”

The next day, Janet claimed the engagement was real and admitted she was “excited” about seeing her son getting wed.

She said, “It’s a lovely match. She’s a lovely girl.

“We don’t always have to have the ring, but there is one. I’m very excited.”

Keira Knightley has posed nude for a portrait.

The ‘Atonement’ star has reportedly been visiting London’s Halcyon Gallery to be painted naked by artist Mitch Griffiths for a new exhibition.

A source said, “It’s considered a great honour to be painted by Mitch. He is a highly respected nude painter and is painting as number of subjects for a new exhibition next year. He is delighted Keira decided to take part.”

The 24-year-old actress, who is widely considered to be one of Hollywood’s most beautiful women, is currently starring in play ‘The Misanthrope’, which is running in London’s West End theatre district.

In the production, a modern-day version of Moliere’s 17th Century comedy work, Keira plays a vacuous Hollywood starlet.
