Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon split

Long term celebrity couple Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon have split, Sarandon’s publicist has confirmed.

Sarandon, 61, and Robbins, 53, met on the set of Bull Durham in 1988 and had been domestic partners for 23 years prior to the split. The couple, both known for their outspoken opinions and political activism, famously never married. Sarandon said of the decision:

“I won’t marry because I am too afraid of taking him for granted or him taking me for granted – maybe it will be a good excuse for a party when I am 80,” Sarandon has said in the past.

The couple didn’t share details of the split, confirming only that it occurred during the summer. A rep for Sarandon released a statement to People:

“Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer,” her rep Teal Cannaday tells PEOPLE in a statement. “No further comments will be made.”

Blake Lively Set For ‘Green Lantern’ Role

‘Gossip Girl’ actress Blake Lively is set to star in new comic book movie ‘Green Lantern’.

The 22-year-old blonde star is being lined-up to play the love interest of the main character Hal Jordan, who is played by Ryan Reynolds.

However, Blake reportedly faces stiff competition for the part as Jennifer Garner, Diane Kruger and Eva Green are also in the running.

A source said, “Blake would be amazing in this role. She has a busy 2010 promoting ‘The Town’, but she would love to play a part in a superhero film.”

‘Green Lantern’ tells the story of Hal Jordan, an ordinary man chosen by an alien to receive an energy ring that can be used to protect the planet.

Filming is due to begin in 2010, with a rumored summer 2011 release date.

Martin Cambell, who previously worked on ‘Casino Royale’, is to direct the movie, leading some to speculate that former Bond girl Eva may be his choice for the role.

Steven Tyler Checks into Rehab

Steven Tyler has checked into rehab.

The Aerosmith frontman entered an unnamed centre to seek treatment for his addiction to painkillers, which comes from years of orthopaedic injuries.

The 61-year-old rocker, who was recently rumored to have quit the band said in a statement, “With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford.

“I love Aerosmith and I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of.”

Steven’s actress daughter Liv Tyler has revealed she is proud of her father for getting the help he needs.

She said, “My family and I are in complete support of my dad’s decision to seek treatment. He is a courageous man. We love him and are so proud that he is getting help to balance his pain management, not just for himself but for his family, friends and fans.”

In 2008, Steven went to rehab for a pain and sleep medication dependency.

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z’s Name Change

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z are to change their names.

The couple, who married in April 2008, are to take on both of their respective surnames in order to keep the ‘Crazy In Love’ star’s parental line from dying out.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, will now be known as Shawn Knowles-Carter, while Beyonce is to become Beyonce Knowles-Carter.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper, “They want to keep Knowles because Beyonce’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any children themselves.”

Earlier this week, the Knowles family suffered a blow when it was announced that Beyonce’s parents Tina and Mathew would be divorcing after 29 years of marriage.

In October, rumours surfaced that Mathew may have been unfaithful, with a paternity suit filed by Alexandra Wright claiming he was the father of her unborn child – an allegation he has denied.

However, in a statement the estranged couple, who also have a daughter, Solange – claimed that the divorce would not be “an ugly, messy fight” and they would continue working together amicably.

Jennifer Lopez is a Music Graduate

Jennifer Lopez felt she had “graduated” as a singer when she performed at husband Marc Anthony’s 40th birthday party.

The ‘Love Don’t Cost A Thing’ hitmaker admits she was nervous about dedicating Barbra Streisand song ‘My Man’ to Marc but knew she needed to do it to prove her credentials.

She said, “I sang a song for Marc’s birthday, for his 40th birthday, called ‘My Man,’ which is an old Barbra Streisand song from ‘Funny Girl’. When I sang it, you know, she’s so my idol. I was like, ‘I cannot believe I am trying to sing a Barbra Streisand song, this is insane! What are you thinking?!’ But I sang and it was almost like I had graduated, you know what I mean? But I needed to get to that point.

“I sang and he was like, you know the tears in his eyes. And we were both like, ‘What was that?’ I was like, finally, I am a singer. This is what I do. I don’t ever have to doubt that in my mind, nobody can ever make me doubt it again.”

Jennifer also revealed she plans to take her 22-month-old twins, Max and Emme, with her when she tours next year.

She told US TV show ‘Access Hollywood’, “They are going to have to go with me. Sometimes we have them in studio, sometimes I’m just like, ‘Let me go in really quick and get back home really quick, but it’s always with them in mind.

“For anybody who has children, you know, your priorities change as a mom. You just have to… always work everything around their happiness… and their well being.”

Britney Spears’ Conservatorship Extended

Britney Spears’ conservatorship has been extended.

The ‘Toxic’ singer’s father Jamie Spears, who was made co-conservator of her personal and professional affairs after her public breakdown in 2008, will remain in control of her life, a judge has ruled.

Although it is not known how long the conservatorship will remain in place, lawyers involved in the case expect it to last between six and 12 months.

Under the ruling, Britney will pay Jamie $16,000-a-month, while his co-conservator, lawyer Andrew Wallet, received $174,569.10 for his services between July 2009 and November 2009.

Earlier this month, it was reported the mother-of-two’s conservatorship could end.

Jamie had met with lawyers and wanted a judge to review the conditions of the agreement following the conclusion of Britney’s ‘Circus’ tour.

It had previously been claimed Britney feels “completely out of it” because her father is so controlling.

A source said,”She is so out of it she just doesn’t care anymore. She just does what she’s told and is totally in her world.

“She’ll even call people at all hours of night for a general conversation and acts like it’s the middle of the day or something.”

Paris Hilton Believed in Santa Until 16

Paris Hilton believed in Santa Claus until she was 16.

The socialite thought the festive character was real until she was in her mid-teens and still makes her mother Kathy Hilton put out a stocking full of presents on Christmas Day, December 25, so she can pretend he has paid her a visit.

She said, “We usually open our presents first thing in the morning. I’m like a kid at this time of year and I just can’t wait. I literally believed in Santa Claus until I was around 16! My mom still puts a stocking out for me so I can still pretend.”

While she loves being spoil with presents, the hotel heiress tries hard to ensure all her loved ones enjoy the day.

Paris, 28, even invites friends to join her and her family – Kathy, dad Richard, sister Nicky and brothers Conrad and Barron – for the day if they have nowhere else to go.

She explained, “I just love Christmas. It’s a great excuse to go all out.

“I always spend the day with my family. This year we’re doing it at home, which is really exciting. My mom will cook an amazing meal and we’ll eat lots and just spend time together. Later on in the day I’ll invite some of my friends, whose parents have passed away or who don’t have family in town, to come over. I hate to think of anyone being on their own on Christmas Day.”

Angelina Jolie: Fidelity’s Not Important in a Relationship

Angelina Jolie doesn’t believe fidelity is essential in a relationship.

The Hollywood actress, who raises six children with her long-term partner Brad Pitt, believes open romances can work just as well as monogamous relationships, if both partners agree to it.

She told Das Neue magazine, “I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship. It’s worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards.

“Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other.”

The 34-year-old screen beauty, who famously met and fell in love with Brad on the set of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ in 2005, while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston – also revealed the pair have a fiery relationship.

She said, “The sparks fly at home if the nice Brad fails to see that he’s wrong and reacts in a defiant way. Then I can get so angry that I tear his shirt.”
