Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder Sued By Musician For Altering Lyrics

New York, NY, United States (CNS) – Pearl Jam lead Eddie Vedder is being sued by a Canadian musician for changing some of the words of his song. Gordon Peterson claims the rocker altered key lyrics of his song “Hard Sun.”

Vedder recorded Peterson’s song for the soundtrack to the 2007 film “Into the Wild.”

But Peterson, who goes by the stage name Indio, was fuming when he realized that Vedder “altered certain key lyrics” of his 1987 track, “eroding the integrity of the composition.”

He also included Universal Music as defendant in the lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court for licensing his tune without his approval.

He is asking for all profits from the “acts of infringement.”

Vedder’s lawyer, Gregory Clark, denies the charge, telling the New York Post that they don’t see any basis for copyright infringement.

Zelda Rubenstein, the squeaky voiced psychic from horror classic Poltergeist, has been taken off life support and only has a short time to live, RadarOnline is reporting.

Rubenstein, 76, became well known for the role in Steven Spielberg’s 1982 blockbuster and subsequent Poltergeist sequels. She has been hospitalized for over a month at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, and the decision to remove life support was made after two of her major organs failed:

In addition to her distinctive voice, Rubenstein is known for her small stature, of which she says:

“Little People are societally handicapped. They have about two minutes to present themselves as equals—and if they don’t take advantage of that chance, then people fall back on the common assumption that ‘less’ is less.”

Rubenstein’s work after Poltergeist includes roles in Cages, Teen Witch, The Wildcard, Southland Tales and National Lampoon’s Last Resort. Rubenstein also did voice-over work for commercials and the TV shows Hey Arnold! and The Flintstones.

Jim Carrey’s Christmas Comedy Routines

Jim Carrey used to throw himself down the stairs at Christmas time.

The ‘Dumb and Dumber’ star loved the festive period when he was growing up because it gave him the audience he needed to practice his comedy and would do anything to make them laugh.

He said, “Christmas was really where I started coming into my own as a performer because I did all this stuff on my own, all this performing on my own. When other kids were outside playing, I was in my room conjuring characters and impressions and things like that. It came to fruition, it all came together on the Christmas holidays when everybody would come over to our house, all the relatives and neighbors and everybody would storm our house because it was the Jim Carrey show. I was a little kid but I would throw myself down stairways and do all kinds of characters.”

Jim says his comedic routines helped him become one of the most popular members of his family.

He added, “That’s how I first got popular within my family. It’s funny, I needed to get popular within my family. That’s really the test. But that was important to me.”

The Scottish singer, whose debut album ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ was the fastest-selling debut LP ever released by a woman, will team up with the Italian operatic legend for a new TV talent show even though she beat him in the US album charts.

The pair will join together for upcoming ITV1 show ‘Pop Star to Opera Star’, where pop musicians will compete against each other by singing classical arias.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Susan has held Andrea off the top of the US charts for weeks – it’s incredible. But he holds no grudges, he joked that he ‘must sing with this amazing woman.’ ”

The blind tenor’s latest album, ‘My Christmas’, was kept from the Billboard top spot by 48-year-old spinster Susan’s LP.

When they perform together, the pair are expected to duet on one of Grammy-nominated Andrea’s most famous songs – either ‘Time To Say Goodbye’, which he famously performed with Sarah Brightman, or ‘The Prayer’, which he sang with Celine Dion.
