Britney Spears hooks up with Jason Trawick

jason-trawick

Britney Spears may have finally found a man who doesn’t mind the odd bit of craziness: her agent Jason Trawick.

Rumors about the pair have been circulating for months, but more recently they’ve been spotted together more frequently.

“In my eyes, Britney and Jason are definitely together,” a member of the paparazzi recently claimed. “I’ve never seen any other celebrity spend as much time with their agent as Brit does - vacation in Costa Rica, dinner, the Bahamas, running out to get Starbucks on a Saturday afternoon - I mean, it’s not just business as usual.”

Jason Trawick works as a talent agent for William Morris, where he represents the Duff sisters as well as Britney. Trawick is credited by insiders as being a key figure behind Britney’s comeback.

Danny Gans cause of death was acute hydromorphone toxicity

acute-hydromorphone-toxicity

The mystery behind the death of Las Vegas entertainer Danny Gans in May has been solved.

The Clark Country Coroners office has revealed that Gans died from accidental acute hydromorphone toxicity. The report states that Gans developed a toxic level of hydromorphone in his system, causing his respiration to become depressed. Gans was taking hydromorphone to treat chronic pain. A cardiovascular condition is also believed to have contributed to his death.

Hydromorphone is an opiate based medication sold under numerous names, including Hydal, Sophidone and Hydrostat. While the drug does come with a range of possible side effects, overdoses are rarely observed in long term users, but when they do occur they may lead to circulatory system collapse. Hydromorphone users are also advised to avoid drinking alcohol as the alcohol can increase the toxicity of the drug.

Mike Tyson and Lakiha Spicer marry in Las Vegas

lakiha-spicer

Mike Tyson and partner Lakiha Spicer married Saturday in a wedding chapel in Las Vegas.

The marriage follows the tragic loss of Tyson’s daughter in an exercise equipment accident late May. Spicer is not the girls biological mother, although the tragedy is believed to have been behind their decision to marry now.

A spokesman for the La Bella Wedding Chapel at the Las Vegas Hilton said that the couple was “very happy and very sincere” at the ceremony. Wedding pictures have not be released.

This is round three for Tyson, who has previously been married to Robin Givens and Monica Turner.

The guerrilla drive-in movie movement

Guerilla_Drive-In

There’s a move afoot to bring back the old drive-in that many of us grew up with and miss in this day and age of multiplex cinemas. Whether playing the movie using good old fashion 16mm 1970s style projectors or the more modern DVD guerrilla drive-ins are gaining ground as a great way to see older, or indie, movies.

For the past four years John Young, a 38-year-old web developer and driving force behind the West Chester Guerilla Drive-in, has been showing films from a projector mounted on the sidecar of his 1977 BMW motorcycle.

He has presented more than a dozen movies at locations suited for the theme: “Meatballs” at a canoe rental centre, “Caddyshack” on a golf course, and most recently, “Ghostbusters” at Fort Mifflin, a favourite haunt of paranormal investigators.

It’s not exactly an evening at the local multiplex – and that’s the point.

“What a great idea. What a great way to see a movie,” said Jim Haighey, of West Chester, one of more than 60 people watching “Ghostbusters” projected in front of the fort’s 211-year-old Citadel. All had to first find a hidden AM receiver in West Chester transmitting a secret code before being e-mailed the location of the movie.

However these various guerrilla drive-ins decide to show their movies it gives a whole new meaning to “community theater” In many cases these MobMovs (the shorthand for mobile movies) begin to take on the feeling of community tailgate parties.

Of course anyone running these “MobMovs” are urged to keep it legal by getting property owner approval to show  the movies on their property and to from movie distributors. Many of the distributors will charge you anywhere from $150 to $300 per showing. These costs are generally alleviated by donations from the people attending the showing.

Gwen Stefani does Elle, and her biggest fan is still Gwen Stefani

elle-gwen

Self-satisfied cry-rocker Gwen Stefani spoke at length to Elle magazine about her favorite subject in the world- Gwen Stefani.

In the July issue of the US women’s mag, Stefani aims to clear up rumors that her No Doubt bandmates are newly-jealous of her. No, no- they were always jealous of her. Stefani modestly opines:

“Everybody’s making it like there’s all this new tension, you know, like I stepped away from the band and now they’re jealous of me. And look, maybe there is a little bit of that.”

Stefani goes on to talk about the challenges of balancing motherhood and her career, no doubt newsworthy to the scores of working mothers across the country. Go on, Gwen, tell us what it’s like- we’re rapt!

“I wasn’t even married. Now I’m a wife and a mother of two. It’s a really different role. I always referred to No Doubt as a marriage, because that’s what it’s like to be together for so long and go through what we’ve been through. I can’t really have that relationship with them anymore. My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now. That’s a huge, huge thing.”

I bet no one else in the band has families or lives to deal with!

Stefani also slanders her fellow pop-songstresses, cheerfully dismissing any work her peers might put into their careers and music. On her solo projects, Gwen chirps:

“I just did the circuit. You write with all the same people Christina Aguilera writes with. And the music’s very programmed and done in this very patchwork way. But it was so fun. I felt like I was playing a character.”

Christina Aguilera! That’s hilarious!

Gwen wrapped up with a peek into her inner turmoil. On future projects, she wisely states:

“I just feel very in between at the moment. Like in my cocoon waiting to blossom. I’m so screwed. I might never be able to write another song… I want so badly to write a record. I want to make every other songwriter jealous. But it’s just not happening right now.”

Adam Lambert is Gay, Rolling Stone Confirms

Yes, Adam Lambert IS Gay.

The Inquisitr had Adam Lambert pegged as gay all along but the American Idol star contestant remained mum on the topic of his sexuality, never really ‘coming out’ and saying for sure, even though he had been spotted holding hands with other men, photographed dressed in drag, etc., etc.

In the latest issue of Rolling Stone hitting newsstands tomorrow, Adam Lambert speaks candidly about his sexuality.

“I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay. I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It’s just another part of me.”

But the reason why Lambert didn’t say much about being gay before is because he wanted to come out on his own terms and didn’t want his sexuality to influence his music career. Lambert says:

“I was worried that [coming out] would be so sensationalized that it would overshadow what I was there to do, which was sing. I’m an entertainer, and who I am and what I do in my personal life is a separate thing. It shouldn’t matter. Except it does. It’s really confusing.”

Stern on Letterman: I mooned the MTV awards seventeen years ago!

Howard Stern had some classic Howard Stern moments on Letterman last night in a lengthy interview.

Stern touched on a number of hilarious topics- dissing the Eminem/Baron Cohen stunt, Conan O’Brien, and receptionists stealing your radio show in part one.

In part two, Stern and Letterman traded barbs about their respective weddings- Stern rips Letterman for depriving his wife of a celebrity wedding and for “living on a farm in Montana.”

For part three, viewable below, Stern and Letterman discuss keeping Richard Simmons happy and answer some viewer questions. Stern gives some “personal advice” on what makes a happy marriage and divulges his secret on his newlywed strategy, which includes seeing a psychiatrist three times a week.

Stern goes on to critique Rush Limbaugh and dishes on his calling in life- “extracting sexual information from people.”
