nick-jonas

The 16-year-old musician is keen to make the move into politics, and has wanted to serve his country since he was a child.

He said: “I’ve always said that I would like to be president. It’s kind of my whole thing. I’m starting the campaign now.”

Nick also spoke about his struggle with diabetes – a medical condition where the body does not produce enough or respond properly to insulin, and which can result in renal failure and blindness - saying he was keen to raise awareness of the condition.

He explained to CNN show ‘The Situation Room’: “I’m here to basically raise awareness and encourage people to continue to do what they can to raise awareness as well in their own circle and on a broader scale.

“Obviously, we’ve made some advances in technology to better manage our diabetes, but we’re hoping for a cure one day, and that’s what the main goal is.”

Jennifer Aniston will only date celebrities

jennifer_aniston

Jennifer Aniston – who is divorced from actor Brad Pitt and split from musician John Mayer earlier this year – prefers to have relationships with people who are already in the spotlight as she knows they will empathise with her hectic lifestyle.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: “Jennifer won’t date a normal guy. She goes after the hottest thing of the moment.”

The star is currently believed to be dating her ‘The Bounty’ co-star Gerard Butler.

The couple were spotted at Manhattan’s The Jane Hotel last weekend, with onlookers saying they looked thrilled to be together.

A source added: “They were hand in hand with each other. They went out together on Saturday night (22.08.09).”

The pair were later seen enjoying an intimate meal at eatery Freemans.

However, Jennifer’s spokesperson has denied romance rumours, insisting the stars are socialising because they work together.

The representative said: “Gerry was one of many from the film there.”

Stand-Up Comic Sunda Croonquist Sued By Mother-In-Law over Mother-In-Law Jokes

sunda-croonquist

Stand-Up Comic, Sunda Croonquist, is being sued by her mother-in-law for defamation because she doesn’t find that being the butt of mother-in-law jokes is funny.

Croonquist, who is herself half African American and half Swedish, married into a Jewish family and as you can imagine, the ethnic mix has given her copious amounts of fodder for her comedy act. Mother-in-law jokes are part of the foundation for her act and the in-laws thought it was funny at first, but became increasingly tired of the jokes over time. Then after croonquist posted her upcoming schedule and highlights on her website that her mother-in-law claims contained enough information to clearly identify her family, she filed suit in April 2009.

The suit is looking for unspecified damages and demands that Croonquist remove any offensive statements from her website, her future comedy routines and any recordings she takes part in from now on.

Croonquist says she doesn’t really have a problem with dropping any language her family sees as offensive, but says she will refuses to pay any settlement to her mother-in-law. Croonquist’s Attorney has filed a motion to have the suit dismissed, and the suit goes before a judge on Sept. 8.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt want their daughter Shiloh to be an actress

angelina_brad1

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are keen for the three-year-old tot to become a movie star and are even considering sending her to drama school when she is old enough so she can hone her acting skills.

A source said: “They’re thinking about enrolling her into a performing arts school. Shiloh is the most famous child in Hollywood and was the first baby to get a waxwork at Madame Tussauds. They think she could emulate their success.”

Shiloh – who appeared in ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ alongside her father Brad – has apparently caught the acting bug and told her friends she wants to be just like her parents.

She reportedly said: “I want to do what mummy and daddy do.”

Although the couple – who raise another five children together - are keen for Shiloh to follow in their footsteps they don’t want her to start her career too young.

The source added to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Shiloh’s a mix of the two best-looking actors in the world – she was born to be a star. Brad and Angelina were a little worried about her interest in acting, however, they have vowed to let their kids pursue their dreams.”

Michael Beasley’s Tattoos Show Why He’s Now In Rehab

michael-beasley-tattoos-photo

Michael Beasley’s tattoos are just one of the signs that clearly show why the Miami Heat star forward finally checked himself into rehab this morning.

Michael Beasley has been on a downward spiral lately and it appears he’s hit rock bottom. He’s been exhibiting some strange behavior and the horrendous tattoos he had inked recently are just part of the puzzle. Beasley took to his Twitter account with some really strange tweets over the weekend, like “Feelin like it’s not worth livin!!!!!!!” and “I Feel like the whole world is against me I can’t win for losin”, which are obviously the product of a disturbed (or drugged) mind. The tweets have since been deleted.

Then there’s the photo Michael Beasley uploaded of his tattoo, wwhich reads “Supercool Beas,” across his back from shoulder to shoulder and feathered wings extending half way down his back underneath. But the most striking thing about Michael Beasley’s tattoo photo is in the lower right hand corner. If you look closely there you can clearly see what appears to be drug paraphernalia.

This morning, Tueaday, Beasley checked himself into rehab for a 30 day stay. The rehab was suggested by his team and he’ll be treated for depression and substance abuse.

Jessica Simpson’s dog is a lesbian

jessica-simpson-fat

Jessica Simpson claims her Maltipoo pooch Daisy – who was a gift from ex-husband Nick Lachey – has found happiness with a hound called Bella.

Alongside a dimly-lit picture of the dogs, Jessica, 29, wrote on her Twitter page: “Daisy and her best friend Bella back together again. Lesbian lovas forever! (sic)”

While Daisy has found love, Jessica is single after recently being dumped by American football star Tony Romo shortly before her 29th birthday.

It was recently reported the scorned star had paid a witch she met on the internet to put a curse on her ex-boyfriend.

A source said: “Jessica is normally a really sweet girl, but she still can’t believe Tony callously dumped her.

“She found a woman in California. The two met at the star’s Beverly Hills home where they lit a candle, burned some incense and performed a couple of incantations.”

Danyl Johnson: Simon Cowell’s latest creation (video)

danyl-johnson

Meet Danyl Johnson, Simon Cowell’s latest creation and the first singer in this season of UK talent show The X Factor to go viral (video below.)

A 27 year old teacher from Reading, Danyl Johnson wowed the crowd singing The Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends,” The performance was strong; maybe not tear jerking staggeringly strong, but Johnson is an entertainer as well with a strong stage presence, which is definitely going to help him win votes.

But the important question isn’t whether the audience liked Johnson, but what Simon Cowell thought? In the Danyl Johnson video below, you’ll see Cowell get immediately to his feat for a standing ovation.

It’s early into the current series of The X Factor, so Johnson probably won’t be the last “sensation” out of the show (Cowell’s getting very good at the game now) but he deserves to enjoy his 15 minutes of fame.

Jerry Hall has branded Mick Jagger an “eternal dissatisfied adolescent.”

mick-jagger-jerry-hall

53-year-old model Jerry Hall - whose long-term relationship to the Rolling Stones rocker, with whom she has four children, ended in 1999 – says their romance was doomed because of the 66-year-old singer’s immature rock star lifestyle.

She said: “I suppose when you’re younger you’re looking for an alpha male with lots of testosterone. Mick was very, very charismatic and very funny, but the eternal dissatisfied adolescent. He was irrelevant and loose. He always used to make me laugh – and there was definitely some chemistry going on.”

Jerry and Mick wed in a Hindu beach ceremony in 1990, but the legality of their nuptials was debated.

Their marriage was annulled in 1999 at the rocker’s request, after it was revealed model Luciana Gimenez was pregnant with his child.

But blonde Jerry – who is now stripping off for her role in the London-based play ‘Calendar Girls’ – has learnt from her past mistakes and says she would never date anyone like Mick again.

She explained to Britain’s Weekend magazine: “A lot of rock stars never grow up, and I’m not looking for that now – definitely not.

“I would never go out with a rock star again. I have moved on from Mick. I just want someone who I like - someone who is kind and is going to be nice to me.

“I fell in love and I stayed with him because I was very, very in love for a very long time. I met Mick when I was 19. He was very young, too – in his late twenties. When you’re 19, you’re looking for fun that night.

“Things change when you find yourself single years later. I thought we’d always be together. I thought he would grow up. I thought it was because he was a rock star. But it certainly wasn’t fun being cheated on.”

Confirmed: Michael Jackson’s death was homicide

michael-jackson

The Los Angeles County coroner’s report found the ‘King of Pop’ died of a cardiac arrest on June 25 caused by a cocktail of drugs – including lethal levels of the powerful anaesthetic Propofol – he had been administered to help him sleep.

The findings were unveiled in a Houston court yesterday (August 25), when a search warrant for Michael’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray was unsealed by officials investigating the case.

The warrant read: “The Los Angeles Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner, Dr. Sathyavagiswaran, indicated that he had reviewed the preliminary toxicology results and his preliminary assessment of Jackson’s cause of death was due to lethal levels of Propofol (Diprivan).”

The official coroner’s report remains sealed at the request of the Los Angeles Police department.

The finding increases the chances criminal charges will be filed against Murray, who was with Michael when he died.

The Jackson family is happy with the homicide ruling, and “look forward” to justice being served.

A statement released by the family said: “The Jackson family has full confidence in the legal process, and commends the ongoing efforts of the Los Angeles County Coroner, the Los Angeles District Attorney and the Los Angeles Police Department. The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served.”

The search warrant affidavit also revealed Murray’s version of the events leading up to the star’s death.

Murray claims he had been treating the singer for insomnia for six weeks before he died, administering 50 milligrams of Propofol every night intravenously.

He told detectives he had been trying to wean the singer off the medication because he feared he was becoming addicted.

In the days leading up to the star’s death, Murray claims he started giving him the sedatives Lorazepam and Midazolam instead of Propofol to help him sleep.

On the day Michael died, Murray said the sedative combination failed to work. At 1.30am he gave the star Valium, before increasing the doses of the sedatives.

At 10.40am an exhausted Murray claims he finally gave Michael Propofol, which finally put the star to sleep.

After 10 minutes of “constant monitoring” Murray claims he left the room to use the toilet, taking approximately two minutes.

When he returned, Michael was not breathing, and he started to administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).

Over an hour later, at 12.21pm, a member of Michael’s security staff called 911.

Murray also told detectives he was not the first doctor to give Michael Propofol, but claims the singer refused to tell him which other physicians were treating him and what drugs they were prescribing.

Police are currently investigating Murray, as well as Dr. Arnold Klein, Dr. Allan Metzger and Dr. David Adams, all of whom have links to the late singer.

Murray’s attorney Edward Chernoff has released a statement to “set the record straight” over what his client “did or did not say” to police.

Chernoff said: “Much of what was in the search warrant affidavit is factual. However, unfortunately, much is police theory.

“Most egregiously, the timeline reported by law enforcement was not obtained through interviews with Dr. Murray, as was implied by the affidavit.

“Dr. Murray simply never told investigators that he found Michael Jackson at 11.00 am not breathing. He also never said that he waited a mere ten minutes before leaving to make several phone calls. In fact, Dr. Murray never said that he left Michael Jackson’s room to make phone calls at all.”

Chernoff did not deny Murray had given Michael Valium, Lorazepam, Midazolam and Propofol on the morning the singer died.

Melanie Griffith back in rehab

melanie-griffith

Actress Melanie Griffith, 52, has entered rehab, her publicist has confirmed to Star magazine.

Griffith has been in rehab at least twice before- once, in 1988, for addiction to painkillers and alcohol after filming Working Girl. Griffith’s second stint in rehab came in 2000 after battling an addiction to painkillers. Her current stay at Cirque Lodge in Utah is said to be due to a “commitment to stay healthy” and “part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago.”

In response to a fan message on her website, Griffith answered:

The truth is that no one ever thinks that they have a problem until they try to stop. Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support. My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so. The thought of my babies and husband really made me focus on my recovery.

Star is not convinced by the “routine checkup” story, and insists that the rehab stay is really a bid to keep Griffith’s marriage to Antonio Banderas afloat. And an entertainment blog at Fox News cites some odd behavior Griffith recently exhibited as proof that all may not be well for the aging actress:

Someone who had recently worked with her told Pop Tarts that Griffith ”had a multitude of crazy demands, including insisting everything around her, from the food to the flowers, be yellow.”
