Insufferable douchebag Tucker Max’s long hemmed and hawed over movie I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell is closer to release. (Believe it or not, it’s based on a book of the same name.) The trailer just dropped on MySpace, and kind of looks like a TV movie version of The Hangover. But even less funny than that, if you can imagine it.

Well, thank God for that. I tell you, I’ve spent years indoors, too shame-faced to step outside my own house, terrified of being exposed as one of those leprous gamers.

But it’s okay now. Just when I was about to lose all confidence in my favorite hobby, actress and self-appointed sage of ‘cool’ Eliza Dushku (Bring It On, lots of Buffy) has given me the validation I need to keep going with the joypad:

“Videogames have almost become acceptable and cool for grown ups - not for people who are just in their teens. I know so many people - friends, actors, directors - who are older and used to maybe play in private, but who can now say it loud and proud.”

Phew! I’m remaining wary, however - particularly as Eliza couldn’t quite make the jump from “almost acceptable” to “totally acceptable.”

For gamers who want more of Eliza, she’ll be doing a spot of voice-acting in Bethesda’s forthcoming action shooter, WET.

Cameron Douglas – Michael’s 30-year-old son with ex-wife Diandra Luker - was reportedly targeted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in New York as he was trying to move half a pound of the illegal narcotic with a street value just over $18,000.

He was arrested on July 28 at Manhattan’s Hotel Gansevoort.

A law enforcement source told website RadarOnline: “Cameron was living at a hotel, renting his room by the month and also had a similar setup in Miami and Los Angeles.

“A DEA informant visited Cameron in New York to set up a buy - he wanted a large amount of crystal meth - the informant told DEA Cameron was strung out and his hotel room and was a mess.”

The informant reportedly claimed Cameron was not mentally sound at the time, but that he had promised he would be able to get hold of the drugs.

The source added: “Cameron called a drug contact and said he was going to ship out the crystal meth. It’s unclear if the drugs were being couriered by car or other means but the DEA was able to track the shipment out of Los Angeles.”

It is not known if Cameron – who appeared alongside his father and grandfather Kirk Douglas in 2003 movie ‘It Runs in the Family’ - is still in custody. Michael’s publicist and agent have not yet commented on the reports.

This is not Cameron’s first brush with the law. In 2007, he was arrested in California for possession of a controlled substance when liquid cocaine was discovered in the car he was travelling in.

Sienna Miller thinks it is easier for male Hollywood stars to be successful and protect their private life.

She said: “The truth is, if you’re a man it is a lot easier. I would love to be, you know, Johnny Depp - be a great actor and do great choices and be very private, I would love that. But you become a target for a certain kind of attention, and it’s hard to shake. And I’ve done a lot of things that have probably inadvertently attracted attention. All sorts of things – just generally the way I live my life, going out, getting p***ed, being seen.

The 30-second film sees Jenna posing in a sexy strapless dress while describing the company’s slaughter of chickens. She says: “Chickens killed for McNuggets are slammed into metal shackles. Spinning blades meant to cut their throats often tear through their wings or bodies instead.

“Many birds survive this terrifying, painful process, only to be scalded to death in de-feathering tanks. There’s a less cruel method of slaughter that renders chickens unconscious, but McDonald’s chooses to allow birds to be
mutilated and scalded instead.” Jenna’s advertisement is due to air in September.

She has previously appeared in the animal rights group’s campaigns against Kentucky Fried Chicken and the use of fur and leather in fashion.

The late pop icon’s mother reached an agreement last week with Debbie Rowe – mother to the star’s eldest children Prince Michael I, 12, and Paris, 11 – over visitation rights and was yesterday (August 3) officially legally appointed as their carer.

She was also given custody of Michael’s youngest son – seven-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as ‘Blanket’ - who has “no legal mother”.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff said: “It’s not my intention to deprive the children of anything.”

Debbie – who had little contact with the children before the singer’s death – is believed to have been granted the right to see her kids four times a year, as well as continue to receive the financial support she got from Michael until his death from a suspected cardiac arrest on June 25.

Her attorney, Eric George, said afterwards: “Today the parties and the California court brought about a result that is selfless and wise through a process that was collaborative and fair.

“Everyone sought the same objective - doing what is best for the children of Debbie Rowe and Michael Jackson. Today’s result, five-and-a-weeks after the tragic death of Michael Jackson, eliminates uncertainty and offers stability to the lives of these children.”

While Debbie and Katherine – who was accompanied to court by her children Randy and LaToya – were happy with the agreement, the singer’s dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein made an objection.

The doctor – who is rumoured to be the biological father of the two eldest children – had a claim for access rejected after the judge heard he was “not a presumed parent”.

Lawyers will return to court in January for a review hearing.

During the probate hearing, Katherine also withdrew her petition for control of Michael’s estate, leaving it in the hands of Michael’s long-time attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain until another hearing in October..

Lawyers for AEG Live – who were promoting Michael’s planned ‘This Is It’ London residency – also requested to be named a party to estate hearings and to be kept informed of business decisions.

The group reached an undisclosed settlement involving merchandise and rehearsal footage with the estate.

A closed hearing regarding the settlement has been scheduled for Monday (August 10).

John Mayer revealed his desire to be a transexual on his Twitter account in the early hours of Monday morning (August 3.)

He wrote: “I’m going to pick up a wayward tranny on the way home. Not a tranny who knows where she’s going. I’m talking a chick with a d**k who’s lost (sic).”

In May, John - who has been single since he split from ‘Marley and Me’ star Jennifer Aniston earlier this year – used the social networking website to brag he had persuaded “dozens” of women to leave red lipstick marks on his
face during a night out in Los Angeles. He wrote: “OK, check it. Just spent the last hour getting the reddest
lipstick on me for a gag. When you see the pics of me leaving the club covered in kisses it’s all a gag.”
