Michael Jackson thought he could “cure” Adolf Hitler of his evil.

The ‘King of Pop’, who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June, praised the Nazi leader’s “genius” in a previously unpublished interview, before insisting he could help rehabilitate him because no one was “all evil”.

Michael expressed his thoughts in a series of taped interviews conducted by his friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach in 2001.

In one conversation, the ‘Thriller’ singer said, “Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn, change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was.”

Boteach then asked, “You believe that if you had an hour with Hitler you could somehow touch something inside of him?”

To which Michael replied, “Absolutely. I know I could. Nobody is all evil. You have to help them, give them therapy, teach them that somewhere, something in their life went wrong.”

The tapes, which recorded more than 30 hours of dialogue, were intended to be released in 2001, but were delayed when Boteach and Jackson had an argument.

By the time they had reconciled, Michael had been arrested on child molestation charges and he decided the tapes might sway public opinion further away from him.

The interviews have been published today September 25, in a new book called ‘The Michael Jackson Tapes: A Tragic Icon Reveals His Soul In Intimate Conversation’.

Boteach said, “He desperately wanted these conversations to be published. Nobody had any sympathy for him before but there was a groundswell of sympathy after his death.

“I believe a public who once judged Michael negatively are now seeing a fuller picture. He was a man who yearned so deeply to do good with his life but was ultimately consumed by loneliness and pain.”

Drew Barrymore says sexual love is “secondary to her”.

The ‘Whip It’ actress who has been divorced twice and is rumored to have rekindled her romance with actor Justin Long, no longer seeks out romance as she wants to concentrate on other aspects of her life.

She explained, “Sexual love is secondary to me right now. I’ve spent a lot of time in my life dedicating myself to love or the pursuit of love or the understanding of love. But for the last few years, my life just hasn’t been about that for me. It’s just not about the mother baggage. It’s not about the boy. It’s about something completely different, and it’s very refreshing. I’m trying to understand it and relish it.”

The 34-year-old star is also trying to put her troubled childhood behind her.

She completed her first stint in rehab aged 13, and tried to kill herself a year later. She had a notoriously difficult relationship with her mother Ildiko Jaid, resulting in her choosing not to live with her when she left rehab for the second time aged 14.

The pair became legally emancipated in 1991.

Although Drew has gained inspiration from her turbulent family life for many of her on screen performances, she didn’t need to for new movie ‘Whip It’ – which is about a girl called Bliss whose mother is determined for her to enter beauty pageants, although she prefers roller skating.

She told Parade magazine, “I used to pull a lot emotionally from all the stuff with my family. But oddly, with ‘Whip It’ I didn’t have the emotional bones to pull from because my mom and I are separated. But those tumultuous, sort of scandalous aspects of a mother-daughter relationship, of course I had those with my mom, so, if needed, I can bring a lot to the table in my heart and soul with that. But the things I have been trying to reach in these two projects are oddly separate from that. They are more about me defining myself on my own terms.”

The ‘Bodies’ singer checked into rehab on his 33rd birthday in February 2007 after realizing he was “physically and mentally ill” from years of taking painkillers and anti-depressants.

Speaking about his three-week stint at the Meadows treatment center in Arizona, Robbie said, “It was damn serious. Robbie Williams does not go into rehab if his life gets a bit out of control. It was damn serious. Death had to knock on my door to help me with my decision.”

The former Take That star who was smoking 60 cigarettes a day and downing 36 shots of espresso coffee when he went into rehab admits he constantly lives in fear of relapse but refuse to let it ruin his life.

He told Germany’s Stern magazine, “I have a self-destructive character but does this hold me back from being happy? No.”

One of his reasons for the troubled singer’s new-found happiness is girlfriend Ayda Field, who has helped the 35-year-old singer turn his life around.

He said, “A friend said, ‘Robbie, I know a woman who would be perfect for you,’ and he was right.

“She didn’t try to change me and just like that, she changed me for the better. I am a very happy man at the moment. I’m now in love with someone who returns this love as strongly as I love her. I’ve never experienced that before.

“That’s what makes me so careful in this relationship, because I don’t want to hurt Ayda.”

Robbie and Ayda, 30, have been dating for two years and recently moved back to the singer’s native UK from Los Angeles ahead of the release of his new album ‘Reality Killed The Video Star’.

Jude Law will not see his newborn daughter for three months.

The ‘Sherlock Holmes’ actor is currently appearing in a theatre production in New York and his work commitments will reportedly prevent him visiting Sophia, who was born in Florida on Tuesday September 22, until the end of the year.

A source told Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, “Sadly, Jude will not be able to see Sophia until he finishes work on ‘Hamlet’ on Broadway in December.

“Jude is keen to see Sophia and will make sure that he visits her before he returns to Britain.”

Jude is said to be concerned for the newborn and her mother Samantha Burke, a model who had a brief fling with the actor last year, could be affected by the attention surrounding his visit.

The source added, “Jude thinks that if he goes to Florida immediately, it will be a media circus. He doesn’t see why he should give the paparazzi the pleasure.”

Meanwhile, Jude is facing a $2.9 million payout to cover Sophia’s living costs until she turns 18 and becomes an adult.

The maintenance bill will include medical and school fees, along with $7,400 monthly living expenses.

It has been claimed Samantha, 24, is planning a tell-all interview about her romance with 36-year-old Jude, and is also considering selling exclusive photographs of the baby.

A source said, “Samantha is getting offers ranging up to $176,000 for an interview and baby photos. She will talk openly about her relationship with Jude. While Jude has promised to provide for Sophia, Samantha doesn’t think his behaviour was entirely chivalrous.”

Jude has three other children Rafferty, 12, Iris, 8, and six-year-old Rudy, with his ex-wife Sadie Frost.

Olivia Newton-John, the ‘Grease’ actress, claims she spotted a flying silver object which blazed across the sky at “amazing speeds” when she was a teenager.

Olivia is convinced most British people share her belief in the existence of alien life.

Describing her other worldly encounter, the 60-year-old actress told Britain’s The Sun newspaper, “I have seen one when I was very young. It was unidentified and it was flying.

“It’s true that I’m intrigued by them. I have seen so many shifts in belief systems over the years.

“In England most people now think UFOs are possible. Twenty years ago, how many people would have thought that?”

Singer Robbie Williams is an extra-terrestrial fanatic and claims to have had no less than three encounters with alien life.

Robbie, 35, first saw a “square thing” pass 300 ft above his head as he was sunbathing in California. The second occurred as he played a song he wrote about alien contact.

Robbie also claims he saw a “big strip of black light” appear when he was in a recording studio.

Anna Paquin’s dog will be the ring bearer at her wedding.

The 27-year-old actress is planning to marry her ‘True Blood’ co-star Stephen Moyer next year, and the couple hope their pet pooch will play a major part in the ceremony.

Speaking at the Good Dog Rescue Foundation gala in Los Angeles earlier this week, Stephen said, “Splash, my alpha, will be the ring bearer, although my son may not be too happy about that.”

But the canine’s participation is the only detail Anna and Stephen have decided on so far.

He exclaimed, “We haven’t planned anything. People always say that we are engaged to be married and I always say that I thought we were just engaged!”

The 39-year-old actor also revealed the details of Anna’s engagement ring, which was designed by a close friend.

He said, “It’s made of silver, and it has this amazing rustic diamond, it’s not a rough diamond, but a diamond that isn’t sort of clear and we decided to make it into a ring.”

Citing a “close friend” of the rapper, Media Takeout posted yesterday that a close friend of Soulja Boy claims the pair are engaged. Although Soulja Boy tends to update his nearly 1.6 million Twitter followers on the details of his life regularly, he did not mention an engagement via microblog. He did, however, tweet this yesterday:

Matt Damon likes George Clooney because he has a great house.

The ‘Informant’ actor befriended George when they starred in ‘Ocean’s 11’ in 2001, and has maintained the relationship because George loves splashing cash on his pals.

The 38-year-old star said, “George has this beautiful place in Italy where he brings all of his friends and he’s an amazingly generous person.

“As a friend of George, what you really need to do is try and stay on his list because he’s got an incredible life that he shares with all his friends.”

Despite his desire to stay in George’s good books, Matt is quick to mock the older star’s gambling abilities.

He added to Parade.com, “George is a loser. We were in Vegas and he was like, ‘I have never won anything in my life gambling.’ I said, ‘I know how to play. I’ll show you. Don’t worry about it.’

“Then, he lost 25 straight blackjack hands in a row, which I think is a record. I would never have believed it unless I saw it happen.

“Afterwards, he slipped a cheque under my hotel room door for $2,500 that said, ‘For services rendered,’ but it wasn’t signed, so I couldn’t cash it.”

Johnny Depp is directing a music video.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor was spotted in the UK shooting the new promo for British band Babybird on Tuesday, September 22.

RadarOnline reports, “A scruffy Johnny Depp was snapped in the UK on the set of Babybird music video he is directing.

“The video, which was shot over two days at Hatfield House, stars Babybird lead singer Stephen Jones and ‘Snatch’ actor Stephen Graham.”

Johnny was spotted on set sporting a beanie hat, heavy jacket and white-rimmed glasses.

The 46-year-old actor is known to be a fan of the band, who is best known for their 1996 hit ‘You’re Gorgeous’.

This is not the first time Johnny’s love of music has been documented.

Last year, he admitted he has always wanted to sing a duet with Barry Manilow.

Referring to his musical movie ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’, Johnny said, “I don’t think I would have attempted this kind of project with anyone but a director like Tim Burton.

“But if there’s a chance of doing a duet with Barry Manilow now, then I’m in!”

Robert Pattinson, the ‘Twilight’ star is so sick of seeing his photograph in magazines and newspapers, he stuck an image on the wall of his trailer and invited his co-stars to throw darts at it.

A source on the set of ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ told the National Enquirer magazine, “Robert got a magazine cover with a picture of his face on it and pinned it to a dartboard that was in his trailer.

“He took shots at it and asked everyone else to do the same.”

Robert, 23, is finding his new-found fame increasingly difficult to cope with, and has confessed he came close to “losing it” earlier this year.

He said, “I was getting really paranoid. But then I realized that if tomorrow I say, ‘OK, I’ve had enough we’re stopping everything,’ it won’t change anything.

“Might as well try to accept it and stay Zen as I have no control over it. It’s not always easy. But whining won’t change anything.”
