Abu Dhabi’s Flash Entertainment Purchases Minority Share of UFC

Las Vegas, NV, United States (AHN) – The UFC announced Flash Entertainment has purchased a 10 percent share of the organization. Flash is an event company based out of the United Arab Emirates.

The UFC has invited this, and welcomes their new partners.

“Over the past few years, we have built a relationship with all levels of the Flash organization. They share our vision, passion, and enthusiasm for the UFC,” said UFC CEO and Chairman Lorenzo J. Fertitta said in a press release. “We are confident that this partnership will accelerate the worldwide growth of the UFC.”

Flash Entertainment is a leading events consultancy founded in 2008, and currently hosts everything from movie premiers to classical shows and tennis tournaments.

UFC President Dana White seemed equally pleased with the partnership.

Not only was fair market value paid for the piece of the corporation, they now have partners who are plugged into a global scene.

According to White, Flash has access to venues that would have taken the UFC years of negotiating to land an event in.

UFC is now looking to expand into countries like China, where Flash already has easy access to.

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z Forbes’ Top Earning Couples

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z are the top earning couple in Hollywood.

The singer and her hip-hop mogul husband have topped a poll of Hollywood’s highest-earning couples compiled by Forbes.com, with combined earnings of $122 million between June 2008 and June 2009.

The couple amassed the massive sum through their music, movies, fragrances and endorsement deals with brands including Budweiser and American Express.

Their earnings were almost double that of runners-up Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, whose $69 million would have mostly come courtesy of Harrison’s $65 million pay cheque for ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’.

That amount still put them $14 million above third-placed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Other couples to make the list include Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes whose $33.5 million was only enough to put them in the number nine slot, a long way below Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith at number four with $48 million, and Victoria and David Beckham at number five with $46 million.

Forbes used interviews with agents, managers, producers and lawyers to determine how much money the couples earned.

Anna Paquin More Excited on Driving Test Than Awards

Anna Paquin was more excited about passing her driving test than being nominated for a Golden Globe award.

The ‘True Blood’ star, who is up for the Best Actress in a Television Drama honor, admits she’s thrilled to be acknowledged for her work but is happier that she now has the freedom to drive herself about.

She said, “I’m oddly more excited about the driver’s license. I’m totally the two-handed driver, and I’m not very good at parallel parking.”

The awards take place on Sunday, January 17, but Anna admits she doesn’t get too excited about attending glittering ceremonies.

Anna, who won the same award at last year’s show and was also the recipient of the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress when she was just 11 said, “It’s probably not any different than any other day.”

Anna recently admitted audiences find it “weird” when she gets nude on screen because she first found fame as an actress when she was still a child.

The 27-year-old star said, “It’s been a gradual evolution for me. It’s probably weird for people to watch it and if they have this image of me as a sweet little child, but it’s not weird for me.”

Denzel Washington Lives Bible Life

Denzel Washington lives his life by the Bible.

The Oscar-winning actor has always had a strong religious belief and follows a lot of advice from the Christian holy book, especially when it comes to showing love.

He said, “My father was a Pentecostal minister for 50 years. We would say prayers for everything and end with, ‘Amen, God is love.’ I thought ‘God is love’ was like one word, ‘Godislove.’ I didn’t really realise what it meant. I’m still learning. But the fundamental message is in the Bible, which I’ve read three times from front to back, along with some of the Koran and the Torah. If you don’t practice love, you’re missing the point. I believe in love thy neighbour.”

The ‘Training Day’ star, who has four children with wife Pauletta, says being spiritual has helped him realize what he wants to do with his life.

He told Parade.com, “I’m sitting around in my big house with all this stuff asking myself, ‘What do you want? You got everything. What do you want, Denzel?’ And it hit me like a brick. I thought, ‘I want wisdom and understanding.’ I was talking to a buddy of mine who runs the Boys and Girls Clubs in the town where I grew up – he’s also a pastor – and he said, ‘Denzel, go back to Proverbs, Chapter 4.’ I told my wife and she said, ‘Yeah, my father lived by that.’ Basically, it’s saying that wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom and understanding even though it costs all your possessions. I thought, ‘That’s a life’s work right there.’ “

Alec Baldwin Wants Mature Love

Alec Baldwin wouldn’t want to have a trophy wife.

The 51-year-old actor, who was married to Kim Basinger for nine years from 1993, doesn’t see the appeal of younger women as he doesn’t think he would be able to have a conversation with someone who didn’t have the same life experiences as him.

He said, “What’s worse than waking up with a 25-year-old woman, you know what I mean? You want to go shoot yourself because you have nothing to say to her. Seriously.

“It’s sad but there are men who go for whatever their earliest ideal of a sexual partner was, they stay with that ideal, meaning men often lock into the image of the first girl they loved at 18.

“They get stuck in an idea of sexuality with young women. Other men learn to see beyond all that.”

The ‘It’s Complicated’ star also admitted he thinks most men regret divorcing later on, hinting that he still has strong feelings for ‘Batman’ actress Kim, with who he has a14-year-old daughter, Ireland.

He added in an interview with the Metro newspaper, “Men are literally lying in bed with their wives when the marriage is essentially over thinking ‘I’ve got to get the hell out of here’ and have a fantasy woman in mind.

“Then you get divorced, meet a woman, marry her and, by the time all that goes by, you’ve aged a few years and are ready to go back to your ex-wife.

“You want a woman who is sane and normal. A woman who is more like you. You’ve gotten older.”

Harrison Ford Ready For Indiana Jones 5

Harrison Ford is ready for another ‘Indiana Jones’ movie.

The screen legend, who has played the titular adventuring archaeologist in the four previous films in the franchise, said he is keen to make a fifth film, and creator George Lucas is already working on ideas.

Harrison, who also starred in the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy said, “I’d love to do it. George Lucas is working on an idea and if he can come up with something, Steven Spielberg and I have to agree to go ahead with it.

“If we find another story to do and we develop the character a little further and I get a chance to do another one, I’d be happy as pie to do it. I don’t think there’s any other franchise films that I’d want to go back to.”

The 67-year-old star particularly wants to deepen the relationship between archaeologist Indy and his son Mutt Williams, played by Shia LaBeouf in 2008’s ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’.

He said: “I’d love to see a development of the relationship between him and his son and him and his new wife. I think it’d be fun. The series is full of opportunity.”

He has also spoken about how he would like to work with actress Karen Allen, whose character Marion walked down the aisle with Indy in the last movie.

He said, “Karen’s a wonderful actress, I’ve always enjoyed working with her. I’m hoping that there’ll be a part for all of us in the next one.”

However, the actor insists he won’t play the role forever.

He joked, “I don’t think I’ll do it in a wheelchair.”

Avril Lavigne’s New Album Struggle

Avril Lavigne has pushed back her album release because she can’t work with her former husband.

The ‘Girlfriend’ singer, who filed for divorce from Sum-41 rocker Deryck Whibley in October last year, is reportedly struggling to finish her new album ‘Pink Crust’, because he is producing the record and their split is causing tensions in the studio.

A source told the Toronto Sun newspaper, “The uglier it gets in court, the uglier it gets in the studio. The first eight songs, Avril and Deryck worked with a lot of love and it came easy. But there’s three or four more to do and they just aren’t feeling it.

“It’ll be a terrific album if they can put this aside for a month or so and concentrate on what matters – the music.”

The pair are now reportedly planning a tentative production schedule in order to get the album back on track in order for it to be released within the coming months.

Avril, 25, is said to be unhappy that Deryck has demanded spousal support and under Californian law has to divide her money fairly.

The singer, who married Deryck in July 2006, previously insisted their break-up was amicable.

She wrote on her blog, “Deryck and I have been together for six-and-a-half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. Deryck and I are moving forward on a positive note.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’ Ageless Love

Catherine Zeta-Jones forgets her husband is 25 years older than her.

The 40-year-old actress insists her relationship with Michael Douglas works well because he is no longer as focused on his career as she is and so can stay at home with their children, Dylan, nine, and Carys, six, while she goes out to work.

She said, “Until someone actually tells me he’s 25 years older, I don’t actually think about it. I guess he’s been through the mill a bit if he can put up with me and we’re not vying for equal rights in our careers because he already is Michael Douglas. He’s spent all his life doing that and he can take a back seat in a way and not feel so crazed about the consciousness of his career. It works very well with the children, him being at home and me working and vice versa.”

The ‘Chicago’ star, who has been married to the screen legend for almost 10 years, also revealed the attraction between them was instantaneous and has only grown “stronger” over the years.

She told Britain’s OK! magazine, “I fell in love with Michael the moment I met him and our relationship has just grown stronger and stronger. We are very close. I know there were some cynics when we first got together but we married because of love and that has never waned, not for a minute.”

Domestic Goddess Cindy Crawford

Cindy Crawford loves being a domestic goddess.

The 45-year-old supermodel, who designs her own furniture line and is planning a new range of homeware later this year, admits she never imagined she would have such an interest in interiors but believes it suits her life now perfectly.

She said, “I never set out to be the next Martha Stewart. But I love working with interiors, because it reflects who I am today … someone who cares about her home environment.”

Cindy currently lives in Malibu with husband Rande Gerber and children Presley, 10, and Kaia, eight, and admits her home life is much more fulfilling than modelling.

She added to Town and Country magazine, “I want us to be happy here. The kind of happiness that’s not contingent on my looking good in a bikini.”

Cindy recently revealed she wants men to start chatting her up even though she is happily married.

She said, “I really don’t get any of those old chat up lines – any at all actually. It’s actually sad and a bit of a shame because it’s nice to flirt!”
