Former Happy Days star Scott Baio is back in the news after a Twitter joke he made about Michelle Obama ended in death threats.

Baio, currently appearing in VH1’s “Scott Baio….45 & Counting,” posted the above picture of Michelle Obama to Twitter, along with the line “WOW He wakes up to this every morning.”

Some of his followers didn’t see the funny side, and started hurling abuse, calling him a racist, suggested that he kill himself, and more including death threats.

Baio initially responded on Twitter saying “People need to relax and laugh a bit. Life is too short no matter what party you are with. A joke is just that, a joke,” but apparently things didn’t improve, with a later message reading “PLEASE NOTE: The FBI has been contacted & we have a file number for the threats, along with Twitter support. Thx (thanks).”

Britney Spears takes regular vacations at a hotel close to her home.

The ‘3’ singer has amazed staff at Los Angeles’ Mondrian Hotel by checking in with sons Sean Preston, four, and three-year-old Jayden James, her children with ex-husband Kevin Federline, for a few days every month, even though the building is just a few minutes away from her house.

A source at the hotel told The Sun newspaper, “She’s no reason to be here. Last time she had staff running around after her kids as they had both caught flu and she had no medicine for them.

“She uses the gym, is waited on and she uses the babysitting service.”

Britney, who is rumored to have split from her boyfriend of 10 months, Jason Trawick, recently told how she has recently learned to relax more and is feeling much less stressed since her much-publicized breakdown in 2007.

She said, “I’m learning to take better care of myself and not get stressed or down about things. I’m taking my time and not letting myself get under any pressure other than to just feel happy about myself and to work on my music.

“I want to show people I am a strong woman. I have a lot of great things ahead of me that I want to accomplish.”

Kendra Wilkinson is hosting a Valentine’s Day party at Eva Longoria Parker’s Las Vegas nightclub.

The former Playboy model and her husband Hank Baskett, who became parents for the first time last month with the arrival of their son Hank Randall Baskett IV, are holding a romantic-themed bash on February 13, the evening before big romantic day, February 14, at nightspot Eve.

The party will be filmed for Kendra’s reality TV show ‘Kendra’ and guests will be treated to copious amounts of champagne and cake.

Before the bash, the couple will enjoy a meal at restaurant Beso, which is situated below the club.

Kendra recently revealed she is planning to hit the gym hard as she is keen to regain her pre-pregnancy figure.

Writing on her twitter page, she said, “2 more wks til i get to hit it hard at the gym… and sex of course ;D lol. yay. (sic)”

Despite being told by doctors that she could not work out for six weeks after son was delivered by Caesarean section, she was thinking about ways to get back into shape soon after he was born.

She said, “I’m going to be a hot mama. The doctor said I can’t exercise until after six weeks but getting up and down in the middle of the night – feeding him, changing him when he’s crying – is my ab workout already!”

I’ve pretty well been ignoring the silliness surrounding NBC and their ineptitude that is driving the once great peacock into the ground. At the best of times I can’t even remember the last time I watched more than 10 or 15 seconds of either Leno or O’Brien before digging out the remote to change channels.

However when I saw this clip I couldn’t help but bust a gut laughing. Way to go Conan. It’s not like that bridge will be there anyway so why not have some fun eh.

Charlie Sheen has been allowed to visit his wife while she is in hospital with pneumonia.

The ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor’s restraining order, which was put in place following his alleged assault on Brooke Mueller on Christmas Day, was altered by Pitkin County District Judge James Boyd to allow the 44-year-old star to visit his spouse while she is being treated at Los Angeles’ Sherman Oaks Hospital.

Brooke’s lawyer Yale Galanter, who confirmed the emergency ruling had been passed said, “The judge did sign an order allowing Charlie and Brooke to have contact. The order will read as long as Brooke is in the hospital, Charlie can see her.”

The changes were made after his wife, who he has 10-month-old twin sons Bob and Max with, fell seriously ill yesterday, January 20.

Her mother Moira Fiore explained to E! News, “Brooke had to have emergency surgery to have her wisdom tooth extracted. It became infected. The infection spread and now she has pneumonia in both lungs.”

Brooke, 32, was admitted to the medical centre after suffering from a fever of 105 degrees.

Her attorney said, “Brooke is still in the hospital. She’s doing OK but she’s not doing great. We thought there was a possibility she was going to be released today, but she’s not because she has developed pneumonia in her lungs.”

Following the incident, Brooke had a restraining order placed against her husband.

The pair were due to appear in court yesterday, January 20, to review the terms of the order, but this has been moved back to early next month, after a planned new hearing for tomorrow, January 22, had to be scrapped due to Brooke’s illness.

Galanter added, “When her medical condition changed, it was my opinion there was no way she could be in Aspen for a Friday hearing, and the judge is not allowing her to appear by phone. So, we filed a motion requesting the hearing date be pushed to February 8.”

Parents who brushed off requests for Legoland visits because it was like, in Europe or something are going to have one less excuse when Legoland Florida opens sometime next year.

The site of aging Cypress Gardens near Winter Haven, Florida has been confirmed as the fifth Legoland location- there are Legolands in England, Germany, Denmark and Carlsbad, California. The site has been Cypress Gardens since 1936, but the park has fallen on hard times in recent years and closed indefinitely in 2009.

The first 100,000 of an estimated 40 million Lego bricks arrived on site today. The CEO of Merlin Entertainments, the company that bought the site for an undisclosed sum thought to be around $22m, expressed excitement about the new Legoland:

“When I first set foot in Cypress Gardens, for the first time, I could not begin to tell you the hairs on the back of my neck stood up,” said Nick Varney, CEO Merlin Entertainments.

Everyone present at today’s ceremony received a Lego orange, which will later break into pieces only to appear underfoot in the dark at 3am. Admission prices are expected to be in line with those of Disneyworld and Sea World, and the new park will create around 1,000 jobs in the area.

Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones are to re-record charity single ‘We Are the World’.

The duo, who were behind the original 1985 single, are working on a new version of the track for its 25th anniversary, with all proceeds going toward aid relief for victims of the two devastating earthquakes which have hit Haiti in the last ten days.

The single and accompanying video will be recorded at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on February 1, the day after Grammy awards, and the cast list is expected to include artists nominated and performing at the event.

A source said, “We expect that, as with the original, everyone will leave their egos at the door. Most of the Grammy nominees are expected to stay for an extra day after the show to record the single, and some are expected to fly in especially for it.”

Usher and John Legend have already been asked to take part, and are expected to be joined by other singing stars including Wyclef Jean, Sting, Fergie, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake.

The original 1985 single was the brainchild of Quincy, Lionel and Michael Jackson and featured performers including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Cyndi Lauper and Billy Joel.

The single is also expected to pay tribute to the late ‘King of Pop’, who died suddenly in June last year, and he may even appear on the final record, as he had hoped to include ‘We Are The World’ in his ‘This Is It’ comeback shows and a version of it was reportedly recorded in rehearsals for the show.

Reality TV mogul Simon Cowell is also planning a single in aid of Haiti, and U2 have recorded a song with Jay-Z which they are hoping to release to raise funds for aid in the disaster stricken state.

Keira Knightley is living on a houseboat.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actress and her boyfriend Rupert Friend have been using the barge, which is moored on a canal in London’s East End, every weekend and have rented it up until the summer.

The pair were spotted walking along the canal, close to the city’s trendy Hoxton area on Sunday, January 17.

A source told BANG Showbiz, “I was really shocked to see an actress as huge as Keira walking about. Everyone walking past was doing a double take.

“The pair looked really happy. They were wrapped up warm, linking arms and giggling – just the two of them.”

Keira, 24, is currently starring in ‘Misanthrope’ at the London Comedy Theatre, while Rupert just began a run in the ‘The Little Dog Laughed’ at the Garrick Theatre in the British capital.

With many evenings taken up at the theatre, the pair are enjoying all their spare time on the canal boat.

A nearby resident added, “They spend most weekends on it, brewing up pots of tea. They’re a very sweet couple. They regard their houseboat as their sanctuary.”

Simon Cowell is putting together a charity single in aid of victims of the Haiti earthquakes.

The music mogul is keen to help aid relief in the Caribbean state, which has been ravaged by two earthquakes in the past eight days, leaving hundreds of thousands dead – and decided yesterday, January 20, to recruit an all star cast to record a charity single to raise money.

Speaking at the British National Television Awards (NTAs) last night, he told BANG Showbiz, “It’s very, very short notice. We made the decision today, so I’ve got to get it all together in about 48 hours.

“It’s going to feature as many people as possible. I haven’t made up my mind on the song yet, I’ve got a couple of ideas. It will be a cover version, yeah.”

The reality TV megastar added that while he hadn’t made any calls to artists at the time, he would assemble as large a cast as possible for the single.

This is expected to include artists from Simon’s Syco record label, such as Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, as well as the company’s parent label, Sony, and other musicians the star is close to in both Europe and the US.

Simon added, “We’ve got about two or three days to put it together, some of it may have to be done in America.

“I literally haven’t made any calls, but we’ve just decided – literally as many people as possible

“Whoever we’ve got available is going to be on the record.”

Although Simon had no release date for the song, it is expected to be ready within a week.

John Mayer isn’t over his split from Jennifer Aniston.

The ‘Gravity’ singer, who had an on/off relationship with the former ‘Friends’ star from April 2008 until March 2009, is still struggling to come to terms with their separation, but still believes he did the right thing in ending their romance.

He said, “I’ve never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life.

“I have this weird feeling, a pride thing, for the people I’ve had relationships with. What would I be saying to Jen, who I think is f**ing fantastic, if I said to her, ‘I don’t dislike you. In fact, I extremely like you. But I have to back out of this because it doesn’t arc over the horizon. This is not where I see myself for the rest of my life, this is not my ideal destiny.”

Despite his reputation as a womanizer, the 32-year-old musician claims he is desperate to settle down.

He explained in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, “I’ll be happy when I close out this life-partner thing. Think of how much mental capacity I’m using to meet the right person so I can stop giving a f**k about it.”

However, the musician is finding it difficult to meet someone new and claims he is constantly being rejected by the girls he approaches.

He said, “Blowing me off is the new s**king me off!”

Instead, the singer – who has dated a host of famous beauties, including Jessica Simpson and Cameron Diaz – wants to revisit his old flames in the hope of finding love again.

He added, “All I want to do now is f**k the girls I’ve already f***ed, because I can’t fathom explaining myself to somebody who can’t believe I’d be interested in them, and they’re going, ‘But you’re John Mayer!’ So I’m going backwards to move forward. I’m too freaked out to meet anybody else.”
