George Clooney wants to make hi-tech underwear.

The ‘Up In The Air’ actor claims he is worried that new airport scanners which can see through a passenger’s clothing will lead him to being subjected to many more security checks by inquisitive airline staff and is thinking of taking drastic action.

The 48-year-old actor joked, “It is a concern. I have nothing to hide of course but nobody likes to be taken advantage of. I think there could really be a market for some special underwear to protect us all from that kind of exposure because it is a little disconcerting.”

Meanwhile, George, who is dating Italian model Elisabetta Canalis, has admitted he is astonished as to how many famous faces have agreed to man phone lines for the telethon he is hosting tonight, January 22, to raise money for the victims of earthquake-hit Haiti.

However, the star won’t let the seriousness of the occasion stop his infamous love of practical jokes.

He said, “You got about 130 to 140 actors, athletes, singers and television hosts, and they’re all coming up not to be on TV, but simply to answer the phones.

“It’ll be the biggest bank of faces that you recognize answering the phones. And that will be streamed live on the Web the entire time. So if you call and you get Daniel Day-Lewis on the line, you can wave at him, and you’ll see him. It’ll be kind of funny, actually. I told everyone to say they’re Daniel Day-Lewis.”

Alicia Keys is desperate to duet with Prince.

The ‘No One’ singer, who has won nine Grammy Awards during her music career, says it would be a dream come true to record a track with her idol, the only celebrity who has left her completely star-struck.

Speaking during an appearance on UK radio station BBC Radio 1Xtra, the 28-year musician said, “I met Prince before. I tried to act cool but I definitely had a little star-struck moment. He’s great.”

Although Alicia, who was interviewed by Trevor Nelson for his show which airs on Saturday evening, January 23, is targeting Prince for a collaboration, she is happy for now to have got the opportunity to work with Beyonce Knowles on her soon-to-be released single ‘Put It In A Love Song’.

Alicia, 28, said, “We had a lot of fun. It’s nice that we just celebrate each others careers, that’s what the song is about, coming together to empower each other. We’ve become really good friends. We’ve been in the business about the same amount of time and both signed to Columbia records together when we were 14. It was like a party in the studio, the energy was so high and chemistry was genuine.”

It’s not only ‘Raspberry Beret’ hitmaker Prince who Alicia has got her artistic eyes on.

She recently revealed she would be keen to collaborate with Kings of Leon and M.I.A. as well.

She said, “Working with other people is definitely something I want to do more of. I love it a lot. It takes me out of my element into a whole other world. I’d love to collaborate with Kings of Leon and M.I.A. I think would be crazy.”

Kate Winslet was “over-exposed” last year.

The actress, who picked up an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘The Reader’ and two Golden Globes for her performances in ‘The Reader’ and ‘Revolutionary Road’ respectively in 2009, decided to take some time out so people wouldn’t get tired of her.

She told the Daily Mail newspaper, “I was in hiding a little bit, just doing family stuff and very little work.

“To be honest, I felt so over-exposed this time last year with the Golden Globes and the Oscar. It was fantastic and everything, but I was sick of me, let alone what other people must have felt.”

However, Kate is ready to get back to work and presented an award at the Golden Globes ceremony last Sunday, January 17, and will do the same at the Academy Awards in March.

Discussing her upcoming projects, Kate is shooting a mini-series for US TV channel HBO based on the James M. Cain novel ‘Mildred Pierce’.

She revealed, “We’re doing it from the book, not the film version with Joan Crawford.

“It’s such a deliciously meaty role and we cover a lot of ground, with Mildred raising her two girls during the Depression era. She runs her own business and, of course, there are men. And because it’s a mini-series for HBO we can really explore the characters and go into the kind of things you could only hint at when the film was made in 1945.”

Lily Allen wants to have a baby.

The ‘Not Fair’ singer, who recently announced plans to take an indefinite break from music to pursue her interests in fashion, let slip that she and boyfriend Sam Cooper’s desire to start a family is the real reason for her planned hiatus.

She told fans at Australia’s Big Day Out festival in Brisbane, “I want to have a baby. I’m not saying I’m pregnant now. Shut up, Lily. Shut up, Lily. That’s the sort of stuff that gets me into trouble I suppose.”

Lily, who was left devastated after suffering a miscarriage with then-boyfriend Ed Simons’ baby in January 2008, recently spoke about her desire to settle down outside of London and live a quiet life with her builder boyfriend, who she started dating last summer.

She admitted recently, “I just want to have babies and live in the countryside, that’s my goal really.

“I’m not a careerist, what I really want is to be a mum. I am driven, but that drive goes as far as keeping a roof over my head and having a routine.

“I have been in a relationship for six or seven months now and its going really well, so why not?”

Despite their intentions, Lily recently denied speculation she and Sam are engaged.

Mischa Barton is being sued for not paying her rent.

The former ‘O.C.’ star has been accused by her landlord, M.R.A. Realties, of failing to provide her $7,000-a-month rent on her New York apartment for the last three months and the company has now filed a lawsuit.

While Mischa’s representative is yet to comment on the claims, the landlord wants her to pay the rent and legal fees.

Mischa, who also has a home in Los Angeles, signed the one-year lease last September so she had somewhere to live while she filmed her TV series ‘The Beautiful Life’. However, it was canceled after just two shows.

Last year, Mischa was hospitalized after being placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold but has since spoke positively about the experience saying it gave her the chance to take time out and reassess her life.

The 23-year-old actress said, “I went to the hospital because of pain with my wisdom teeth and I ended up getting ‘put in’, but that’s because I was so overwhelmingly stressed out and upset.

“I think it was my teeth and the stress of having a new job and travelling. I was miserable. Actresses aren’t given the time to recover after stuff like that.

“I was shocked it went that far but I think it was necessary for me to take that time out. I’m so much more settled and calm now.”

Leonardo DiCaprio has donated $1 million to the Haiti relief appeal.

The ‘Titanic’ actor gave the generous amount to help aid victims of the two devastating earthquakes which have hit the Caribbean nation in the last 11 days.

The donation, which will be dispersed through the Leonardo DiCaprio Fund, will help with immediate relief efforts as well as with longer-term redevelopment and infrastructure projects, including a focus towards sustainable development.

Former US president Bill Clinton, who set up the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund (CBHF) with another ex-president, George W Bush said, “I am grateful for the generous gift Leonardo DiCaprio and his Foundation have made in support of our Clinton Bush Haiti Fund around the world of all means, this support will go a long way to help save more lives, reach more people with emergency assistance, and help the Haitian people build their nation back stronger and more secure than it was before the earthquake.”

Other stars to have given help to the disaster-stricken state include Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Wyclef Jean and John Travolta.

The ‘Valentines Day’ star, who lives in Los Angeles with her film producer husband Cash Warren and 19-month-old daughter Honor Marie, loves scouring the classified advertisements on website Craigslist to find interesting and quirky pieces for her home.

She told Self magazine, “I’ve bought 70 per cent of my house off Craigslist! I’ve found so many things; couches, tables, lamps. I love the idea of recycling furniture and there being a history there.”

The 28-year-old beauty, who married Cash in May 2008 after four years of dating, also admitted her relationship remains as fresh as ever and she still loves the way the producer makes her feel.

She explained, “I love the way I feel after Cash and I wake up. Or talk on the phone. Everything! Every time I see him or talk to him, I fall in love with him all over again.”

Jessica is delighted with the home she and Cash have created but recently admitted her workload was smaller so that she could spend more time there watching Honor grow up.

She said, “Life moves so fast as a new mom. Sometimes I wish time would slow down.

“Every milestone is memorable, from the numerous wardrobe changes in her first five months due to her explosive diarrhea to the first time she said, ‘Mama.’ “

Taylor Swift is building a pond in her living room.

The ‘Love Story’ singer is planning to turn her new home in Nashville, Tennessee, into a fairytale palace and can’t wait for building work to be completed.

She said, “It’s going to be my fantasy world. There’s a pond in the living room… The pond is a moat around the fireplace and may possibly have koi fish in it.”

The pond is not the only unusual feature the 20-year-old star is planning for her home as she has also come up with a unique design for an observatory – a human bird cage.

She explained to Rolling Stone magazine, “You step on a stepping stone in the pond in order to get on a spiral staircase, which takes you up to the human-sized bird cage observatory.

“They’re delivering a human-size birdcage, which I’ll put a brass telescope in. The ceiling of my living room is painted like the night sky.”

Johnny Depp never leaves his home.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor hates the attention he receives whenever he leaves the French property he shares with long-term partner Vanessa Paradis and their two children, Lily-Rose, 10, and Jack, seven, so shuts himself away from the “insanity” of modern life.

Johnny, who also owns a private island in the Bahamas said, “I don’t leave the house anymore. If it isn’t necessary I don’t go anywhere. I stay at home. I’m adamant when it comes to that. I will never get used to it. If you do, you must be insane. I’m thankful for everything, but there’s a limit to what a person can endure. I don’t know how Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can bear that kind of life, because personally it’s an issue for me.”

The intensely private actor, who only feels truly relaxed when on his island- said his life is so insular, he learns everything from his children.

The 46-year-old actor explained to Germany’s Tele 5, “Because I never leave the house I live outside society. But I’m a witness of my children’s lives. I see how they’re doing at school and how they treat their friends. My kids are a lot smarter than me. When I watch them I learn a lot. I don’t think there’s anything they could learn from me.”

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame was shot Tuesday in a robbery, but is not dead despite the Waka Flocka Flame dead rumors doing the rounds.

According to reports, Waka Flocka Flame (real name Juaquin Malphurs) was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was injured in a jewelry store robbery. Flame was shopping in the store when it was held up, and was shot after refusing to hand over the jewelry he was wearing.

He did however require assistance, and was taken to Atlanta Hospital for surgery. He is in a satisfactory condition, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Although this rumor had some basis in truth (that is, he was shot) we can confirm for the record that Waka Flocka Flame is not dead…Waka Flocka Flame did not die.
