Cheryl Cole’s Marriage ‘Worth Fighting For’

Cheryl Cole’s marriage is still “worth fighting for”.

The Girls Aloud beauty, whose husband Ashley Cole has been accused of sending explicit text messages to other women, gave an interview shortly before the revelations in which she admitted the couple have had problems, but refuse to give up on their union.

She said, “If it’s worth fighting for, then fight. And in the case of me and my husband, it’s worth it.

“Sometimes one of you makes a mistake, sometimes the other. Nevertheless, anyone who throws in the towel ends up achieving nothing.

“Let’s just say that during the first six to 12 months everything is always great. You’re totally in love and everything works by itself. Then, at some point, everyday life takes over again. I think that’s normal.”

The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer, who has reportedly been advised to end her marriage by her bandmates and mother Joan Callaghan, even said she and Ashley are hoping to start a family, but admitted it won’t be in the near future.

She told Britain’s Hello! magazine, “I’d like to start a family with Ashley. Not this year, but I don’t want to wait forever to have children.”

Despite putting on a unified front, Cheryl is believed to have been living at the Kensington’s Baglioni Hotel in London since rumors of Ashley’s behaviour emerged – although her publicist claims she is merely using the suite as a base while she is preparing for a promotional tour of Europe.

Jim Carrey’s Special Valentines’s Gift for Jenny McCarthy

Jim Carrey hired a skywriter to declare his love for Jenny McCarthy.

The former Playboy model was delighted when the ‘Yes Man’ star made the public Valentine’s Day, February 14, gesture and urged all her friends and neighbours to see what he had done for her.

She tweeted, “Just had sky writer come over our house and write J (heart) J in the sky. So fun. Anybody in LA go look at the sky.”

The 37-year-old star had earlier used her twitter page to give her own public declaration of love to Jim.

She wrote, “Happy valentines day!! To all those who don’t have one I’m sending a love burst. And to my man, … You are my light, my love, my forever (sic)/”

Jim recently claimed that “every day is Valentine’s Day” because he is so happy in his four-year relationship with Jenny.

Jim – who is twice divorced – said, “Jenny is the first person that I’ve been with where I don’t have a giant question mark over my head. Every day is Valentine’s Day, baby.”

Jim, 48, believes honesty and good communication are the key factors in their happy union.

He added, “Say what you mean. No one has the energy for mind games.”

But for Jenny, who has a seven-year-old son Evan from a previous relationship, the special thing about the actor is he makes her feel sexy.

She listed her relationship tips as “communication, being turned on by each other and being each other’s soul mate”.

Roman Polanski’s Extradition on Hold

Roman Polanski’s extradition to the US in on indefinite hold.

The film director is currently under house arrest in Switzerland in relation to a 30-year-old statutory rape conviction but authorities are unable to agree whether he needs to be present to be sentenced by an American court.

The Swiss Justice Ministry revealed he will not send the filmmaker back to the US until “a decision on the question of an in absentia trial is finalized”.

Swiss Justice Ministry deputy director Rudolf Wyss added, “When the question is still open, why should Roman Polanski be extradited? As long as the question is still open, our decision depends on that.

“Even if we decide on extradition, he can still appeal. This would take many months.”

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said they are currently looking into “somewhat conflicting news reports from Switzerland” over the extradition process.

However, the office refused to be drawn into the row, issuing a statement saying, “At present, this rests with the Swiss courts. We will comment after a ruling by the courts there, not before.”

Last month, a court ruled that Polanski cannot be sentenced in absentia but his lawyers vowed to appeal.

In 1977, he pleaded guilty to charges of having underage sex with 13-year-old Samantha Gailey, now known as Samantha Geimer.

He believed he would face a jail term of just 42 days, and claimed a judge had reneged on a plea bargain deal to reduce the charges from rape and serious sexual assault if he admitted under-age sex.

On the day of his sentencing he fled to London then Paris as France does not have an extradition treaty to the US.

The 76-year-old film director was placed under house arrest in December, after being taken into custody in September while attending a film festival in Zurich.

Michael Jackson’s Pop Star Daughter

Michael Jackson’s daughter wants to be a singer.

The family of the late pop superstar are astonished at how similar his three kids – Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, who is known as ‘Blanket’ – are to him with the eldest pair in particular showing signs of following in his footsteps.

A source said, “Talking to Prince is like talking to Michael. He’s so smart and mature – way beyond his age. Paris, meanwhile, wants to be a singer.”

The children are now living with the singer’s mother Katherine in California and according to family insiders, they are able to live a much more “normal” life than they did with their father.

The source told People magazine, “They like not wearing the masks when they go out. It’s a different experience for them.

“It would have been hard to imagine them going out in public or showing up at someone’s house hanging out and playing video games before their father died. That had a lot to do with Michael, because every time he showed up there were bodyguards and chaos. And now, not so much. It feels much more normal and they’ve adjusted really well to that.”

The children spend a lot of time with their older cousins, which their family believe has helped them deal with their father’s death last June.

Family attorney Adam Streisand said, “They’re doing great, thanks to the love and support they’ve gotten. With the kids running around the house, laughing, playing, they’ve given each other a lot of joy.

“Katherine really listens to the kids. She wants to give them a sense of freedom when she can. She wants to encourage them.”

Catherine Zeta Jones Tops PETA’s Worst Dressed Celebrity List

Catherine Zeta-Jones has been named Worst Dressed Celebrity.

The actress topped an annual list compiled by animal welfare organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) because of her “fetish for wearing anything that once moved”.

The group even staged a protest outside New York’s Walter Kerr Theater where she is starring in ‘A Little Night Music’ on Saturday, February 13.

PETA said, “With her cow-skin pants, ugly fox coat, and icky alligator bag, Catherine Zeta-Jones looks like she’s working her way through Noah’s ark with a knife.

“Maybe she’s trying to get into character for an upcoming role as a serial killer – or a taxidermist.”

Other stars to make the organization’s list included singer Aretha Franklin, US reality TV star Jill Zarin and singer-and-actress Jennifer Lopez, who was dubbed ‘Jenny from the butcher block’ for wearing fur.

‘How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days’ actress Kate Hudson, who recently split from baseball star Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez, also made the list.

Describing Kate’s look, PETA said, “Kate, there’s no easier way to lose a guy in 10 days than by wearing a hairball. Maybe your furs are the reason why ‘A-Rod’ ran for home.”

PETA also had harsh words for singer-and-actress Jessica Simpson, whose transition into country music flopped last year.

The group said of her outfits, “All resemble her career – dead.”

Kate’s mother Goldie Hawn and singer Rihanna were the other finalists on PETA’s Worst Dressed list.

Cheryl Cole Devastated by Husband’s Text Messages

Cheryl Cole has been left devastated after her husband was caught sending explicit photos and text messages to another woman.

The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer has been encouraged to split from her soccer player spouse Ashley Cole by her Girls Aloud bandmates and mother Joan Callaghan after it emerged he sent sexual pictures and texts to an unnamed secretary, just days after he was accused of sending similar messages to glamour model Sonia Wild.

A source told The Sun newspaper, “As far as they’re concerned Ashley is holding Cheryl back. He doesn’t deserve any of this worry. Sarah Harding is particularly angry, furious in fact, but all the girls are upset and see each other as sisters. They will fight tooth and claw to protect Cheryl.

“Cheryl’s mum is also livid. She has said she’ll support whatever decision Cheryl makes, but privately believes she deserves better.”

A collection of over 300 messages were allegedly sent to the secretary by Ashley in October 2008.

One of the photographs shows him posing in front of a bathroom mirror in a pair of white briefs, while another, sent eight days later, show him gazing at the camera whilst lying on his bed.

One message wrote, “can I have 1 more of ur t**s please. (sic)”

Another read, “No its not big. Ur make me laugh. X (sic)”

Cheryl, 26, is distraught over the news, and “looked miserable” yesterday, February 14, as she avoided spending Valentine’s Day with her husband and instead spent the day rehearsing for her BRITs performance tomorrow night, February 16.

A source said, “Cheryl turned up wearing sunglasses. She didn’t speak to anyone and just went straight into her dressing room.

“She came on stage, did her performance and then left. She didn’t back out of her performance and was in the venue for three hours but she looked miserable.”

Jude Law and Rachel Weisz Receive Theater Awards

Jude Law and Rachel Weisz have been named the Best Actor and Actress in a Play.

The British stars are just two famous names who have been honoured at the annual Whatsonstage.com Awards, which is voted for by theater-goers, for their outstanding work on the stage over the last 12 months.

The Oscar-nominated actor received 40 per cent of votes for his portrayal of the title character in the 2009 adaptation of the famous Shakespeare play ‘Hamlet’, while Rachel received the prize for her starring role in ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ both produced by the Donmar Warehouse group.

Rachel’s performance also contributed to the production being named the Best Play Revival.

‘Star Trek’ actor Patrick Stewart won the Best Supporting Actor in a Play gong for his role as Claudius, in a rival production of ‘Hamlet’ by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).

The 69-year-old actor was also honored alongside his ‘X-Men’ co-star Sir Ian McKellen, for their pairing in ‘Waiting for Godot’ at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket, which was praised as the Theatre Event of the Year.

A host of celebrities turned up to the Prince of Wales Theatre in London’s West End theater district last night, February 14, for the 10th anniversary of the annual awards.

Terri Paddock, editorial director of Whatsonstage.com, said, “What a fantastic night, my thanks to all the performers, nominees and, of course, the audience. It’s been wonderful to see such amazing talent get the recognition they deserve – and what could be better than receiving an award chosen for by the ticket-buying public.”

Lady Jeff Bridges

Jeff Bridges admits he is a “pretty lazy guy”.

The Oscar nominated actor, who is tipped to win Best Actor at this year’s awards for his role as a country singer Bad Blake in ‘Crazy Heart,’ said although he enjoys his work he is always “avoiding” it.

He said, “I spend most of my time avoiding work. Honestly, I’m a pretty lazy guy. It’s a lot easier for me to turn down a role than take it.

“I know the effort it takes once you engage and commit.”

Jeff, 60, also said there is an upside to having been nominated for an Oscar five times previously but never winning – you don’t have to give a speech.

He added, “I’d rather come in not having high expectations. There’s a certain weight and pressure with awards and fame in general that you have to work with. But there’s a downside to winning, too.

“I’ve been nominated for Oscars five times, and you would think that being an actor for as long as I’ve been, I could get up in front of people and give a speech – but no, I’m just as nervous as anyone.

“So it’s kind of a relief not to win, although I’d be lying if I said it wouldn’t be wonderful to get the Oscar.”

Robert Pattinson Allergic to Vagina

Robert Pattinson is “allergic to vagina”.

The ‘Twilight’ hunk said he found a recent photo shoot difficult as he had to pose with a number of naked models.

He joked, “I really hate vaginas. I’m allergic to vagina. It was a 12-hour shoot, so you kind of get the picture that these women are going to stay naked after, like, five or six hours.

“But I wasn’t exactly prepared. I had no idea what to say to them. Thank God I was hungover.”

Robert, 23, added he was pleased the resulting photos, which see him pose next a naked woman in a bath and having his photo taken by another girl wearing nothing but a pair of tights, looked classy rather than seedy, as he takes exception to modern pornography.

He added to Details magazine, “If you look at porn in, like, the eighties, there was something kind of quaint about it, quite sweet – like this little naked community.

“The people who made it liked it, they had respect for it. Not remotely like the porn that’s available now – it’s just everything, everywhere.”

Robert, who has publicly told how he finds it hard to meet girls, despite being one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, also said the closest thing he has to a relationship is with his dog.

He added, “The only emotional connection of relevance is with my dog. My relationship with my dog, it’s ridiculous.”
