Cheryl Cole Performed at the BRIT Awards Without Wedding Ring

Cheryl Cole performed at the BRIT Awards last night, February 16, without her wedding ring.

The 26-year-old singer left her $252,350 diamond-encrusted band at home as she performed an energetic version of ‘Fight for This Love’ at London’s Earls Court – the first time she has been seen in public since revelations of her husband Ashley Cole’s alleged affair emerged.

She reportedly vowed, “Nothing’s going to ruin my big night.”

After her performance, Cheryl smiled at the star-studded audience and said, ‘Thank you, thank you,’ while members of the crowd chanted, ‘Dump him, dump him.’

She was comforted by her Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, who hugged her as she left the stage.

Before the show, backstage staff were ordered to leave Cheryl alone after she canceled all interviews and photoshoots.

Another source said, “There was a directive that she should be left alone.

“Cheryl was nowhere to be seen. She just hid herself away. And when she did finally emerge for rehearsals, organisers made all the photographers leave the auditorium.”

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Ashley, who is recovering from a broken ankle, wanted to take Cheryl on a romantic break to Dubai to help solve their marriage problems.

But Cheryl has canceled all plans for the romantic trip after explicit messages and photographs of Ashley in his underwear emerged on two other women’s phones – an unnamed blonde office worker and glamour model Sonia Wilde.

A source explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper, “As soon as the first story came out, that was the end to all of that. All plans for a romantic trip away were dead in the water.”

Another added, “It’s definitely not going to happen. Ashley for one was looking forward to going away to chill out. But Cheryl put her foot down.”

It is believed the brunette singer will now fly away with friends for a few days.

Jessica Simpson Looking For Artistic Man

Jessica Simpson is looking for an “artistic man”.

The US singer-and-actress, who counts American footballer Tony Romo and womanizing singer John Mayer among her ex boyfriends, and used to be married to singer Nick Lachey said she wants her next husband to be fit into her “emotional type”.

She said, “My next husband will be an artistic man. It will show you the colours of my character, the person that I fall in love with next.

“I don’t even have a type! I don’t have a physical type. I have an emotional type.”

Jessica, who was most recently romantically linked to Billy Corgan, also said she would never appear naked in any role, and is saving herself for her next love.

She added, “I will never do nudity. I don’t care how dark and intellectual the role could be, you know. I don’t care if I could get an Oscar for it, I’m not going to do it.

“Those accolades mean nothing to me. I don’t think people deserve to see what’s under my clothing. That’s only for my next husband ha ha ha!”

The ‘Come On Over’ singer, who gave up country music in April 2009 after a widely criticized move from her pop roots to the genre in 2007, also reflected on her upcoming 30th birthday, admitting her life has turned out differently to how she thought when she was young.

She told Allure magazine, “I never really thought, growing up, ‘What am I gonna be like when I’m 30?’

“I just kind of thought I had it figured out; I’m going to be this great pop star, have my songs on the radio, be married, and have babies.

“But things can be taken away from you. A song can not be played on the radio. An album can not work.”

Nicole Richie’s Priorities Changed With Kids

Nicole Richie’s priorities changed after having children.

The 28-year-old socialite, who has been in rehab to be treated for drug addiction – admits everything in her life changed after she had two-year-old daughter Harlow and son Sparrow, five months with fiance Joel Madden.

She said, “When you have the kids, everything changes doesn’t it? It sounds cheesy to say, but it does.

“Your whole life changes and your priorities change 100 per cent… in the best way possible.”

Nicole has also admitted she and Joel are planning to have more children – but are unsure on what they could name their third baby.

Speaking about Harlow and Sparrow, she said, “I didn’t even realise that both of their names ended with ‘ow.

“I love the name Willow, and now that’s out because I’m not gonna have all kids with ‘ows!’”

Discussing her children’s unusual names, Nicole claimed the final decision requires give and take on both her and the Good Charlotte rocker’s part.

She admitted, “Joel and I have very different tastes in names. We really just have to work with whatever it is we both agree on, so I really liked Sparrow from Captain Jack Sparrow, and he liked it for different reasons.”

Yesterday, February 16, Nicole’s father, soul singer Lionel Richie, admitted he was excited about walking his daughter down the aisle.

He said, “My happiness for Nicole and Joel knows no boundaries. They have given me two beautiful grandchildren, Harlow and Sparrow, and have proven to be great parents.

“I am not sure who is luckier, Nicole and Joel to have each other, or me, to have both of them in my life. I cannot wait to give away the bride!”

Simon Cowell: Mezghan Hussainy is “The One”

Simon Cowell thinks Mezghan Hussainy is “the one”.

The ‘American Idol’ judge, who has sparked rumours he is engaged to the make-up artist, admitted he is thinking about starting a family with the brunette beauty.

Speaking to his friend Piers Morgan on an episode of his UK TV show ‘Life Stories’, Simon who once claimed that he would never risk his fortune by getting married revealed, “I’m smitten with Mezhgan – I think she’s the one. She’s very special.”

Asked if he would have kids with the 36-year-old beauty, he revealed, “I think I need to have little Simons around.”

Mezhgan, 36, was in the audience – and she and Simon lovingly pulled faces at each other throughout the chat.

An audience member revealed, “She was two or three rows back but they kept exchanging glances. Piers asked him several times whether he was engaged but he would not confirm anything.”

Despite his comments, many former girlfriends of 50-year-old Simon, including singer Sinitta and presenter Terri Seymour, have admitted he always vowed not to marry or have children.

Shortly before they split in 2008, Terri said, “Everyone knows he doesn’t want marriage and kids. Although marriage doesn’t really bother me as my own mum raised me on her own, I definitely want a baby some time down the road. But it’s never something we discuss.”

Simon and Mezghan sparked speculation they were engaged earlier this week when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger.

However, both have refused to comment on the speculation.

Kylie Minogue Wants a Baby

Kylie Minogue wants a baby.

The 41-year-old singer, who is dating Spanish model Andres Velencoso, is hoping to start a family but needs to concentrate on her career commitments first.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper,“It won’t happen just yet but soon I hope, it would be lovely. I’ve got a new album coming out – I’ll have to get that out of the way first.”

Although Kylie wants to start a family with Andres, the ‘In My Arms’ songstress recently claimed she won’t be getting married to the 31-year-old model, who she has been dating since September 2008, any time soon.

Radio personality Bo Griffin dies at 51

Television and radio personality Bo Griffin, known as ‘Bo the Party Animal” in her home market of South Florida, has died of intestinal cancer at the age of 51.

Griffin, who successfully made the jump to television and worked on successful projects with networks such as GSN Live (The Game Show Network), HGTV and affiliates of Fox and NBC, was diagnosed just this past January with the disease. Griffin was also known for hosting the nationally syndicated relationship talk show Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. Griffin produced a line of clothing, called Goddess, sold in a boutique in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. (You can read a more in-depth bio for Griffin on HGTV’s website.)

Griffin was diagnosed with intestinal cancer after complaining of back pain last month. She is survived by her father and two sisters. In a statement, co-worker DJ Laz from Griffin’s days at Power 96 had this to say:

The world has lost an amazing talent today. Bo, you were my friend, my co-worker and my mentor for many years. You inspired everyone that was fortunate enough to hear your voice. May you rest in peace. God bless.”

Katie Price’s Equal Marriage With Alex Reid

Katie Price insists her marriage with Alex Reid will be “equal”.

The glamour model, who wed the cage-fight earlier this month in Las Vegas after dating for just seven months, says she and her new spouse will share everything, especially when it comes to financial issues.

The mother-of-three, whose divorce from ex-husband Peter Andre was finalized late last year said, “I want to buy a house with Alex. I want it all to be equal – his money, my money, completely split down the line. Whatever work we do together, it’s not going to be, ‘I take my half, he take his.’ We’re putting it all in a joint account and that’s how a marriage really should be.”

Although she wants their money to be shared, Katie, also known as Jordan, says Alex often treats her.

She told Now magazine, “Actually, Alex is flash with his cash. He spoils me – more than Peter did. I’m a very lucky girl.”

Brit Awards: Lady Gaga Scores a Hattrick and Liam Gallagher Hasn’t Changed – YAWN!

The British music industry celebrated itself last night at the Brit Awards 2010. I must admit that award shows aren’t what they used to be. The Grammys’ aren’t what they used to be. Boring and political correct, but it is broadcasted in the US, so that’s ok. If you live in the States you are not allowed to say or do anything the sponsors or broadcast companies doesn’t like. God forbid someone should show some personality on live television.

The Brit Awards are like that now too. It’s a show for the entire family. It used to be more rock’n roll, curses and drunk performers. The only hint of controversy was Lily Allan’s opening performance with a fake bomb, dancers in pink camuflage and Union Jack umbrellas. Her spokesman has already downplayed it, by saying it has nothing to do with Britain’s involvement in Afghanistan.

It was notorious bad-boy and Oasis singer Liam Gallagher who caused the most panic for a few minutes. Oasis’ album (What’s the story) Morning Glory was declared the best album in the last 30 years. His acceptance speed was: “Listen kids, the best bands in the f****** world live forever.” The producers were ready with the mute button, but everybody could read his lips. After the very short speech he tossed the microphone and award out to the audience. The Gallagher brothers aren’t exactly getting along at the moment (again), so he didn’t bother to thank his brother, who actually wrote all the songs on the winning album.

Besides that the Spice Girls won for the most memorable performance in 30 years with their hits “Wannabe” and “Who Do You Think You Are”. (That it of course the only perfomance in 30 years that comes to my mind…)

Lady Gaga did what no other none-Brit has done in several years – She won three awards and was close to crying when she accepted the third award.

Leonardo DiCaprio Understands Why Actors Go ‘Nuts’

Leonardo DiCaprio understands why some actors go “nuts”.

The ‘Sutter Island’ star, who has been acting since he was 15 but hit worldwide stardom when he starred in 1997’s ‘Titanic,’ says it’s important to keep grounded when experiencing fame and success because it can be taken away very quickly.

He said, “Just because you’ve done a good performance once, doesn’t mean you’re always going to be good. That’s why some of the greatest actors in the world have gone a little bit nuts. They’re saying to themselves, ‘What happened? You used to love me?’ It’s an easy trap to fall into. You just have to realize that when you’re hot, you’re hot, and when you’re not, you’re not.”

The 35-year-old heartthrob says his friends help him stay down-to-earth as they won’t let him act like a star.

He told parade.com, “I know this is going to sound lame, but one of my favourite things is hanging out with my friends. They take me away from the world of show business and keep me grounded. It brings me back to who I am. When I didn’t want to go out in public after all the craziness surrounding ‘Titanic’, they sort of pushed me out the door. They were like, ‘Are you going to hide out like a little hermit?’ “

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Moving to Venice

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are moving to Venice for three months.

The Hollywood couple and their six children – Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, five, Shiloh, three, and 19-month-old twins Vivienne and Knox – arrived in the Italian canal city yesterday, February 16, and intend to stay there while Angelina films her new movie ‘The Tourist’.

The family, who have homes in Los Angeles, France and New Orleans, are renting out the stunning canal side Palazzo, which is situated between the Rialto and Accademia parts of the city and faces San Toma.

After arriving in a private plane at Marco Polo Airport the Jolie-Pitt clan took two speedboats, one for their luggage and another for the family, to their new home.

Angelina, who begins filming on March 15, has previously spoken about the family’s jet-setting lifestyle.

She said, “It’s hard, and maybe one day we’ll have to stay in one place. I’m sure the kids are going to be 18 and say, “God, I just want to stay in one place.” They’ll never want to leave home.”

The couple recently denied reports their five-year relationship was in trouble.
