Chris Brown is a “really, really” good trash picker.

The 20-year-old singer, who is currently carrying out his community labour order following his attack on now ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, had his second progress hearing since his punishment was passed and was praised for his commitment.

At the hearing which was held at Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday afternoon, February 18, Judge Patricia Schnegg said, “You’re doing really, really well. I think you’ve made a lot of progress in the last month.”

As well as being sentenced to 80 hours of community labor, the ‘With You’ singer was also sentenced to five years probation and must attend a 12-month domestic violence counseling program.

Authorities in Richmond, Virginia, where Brown is carrying out the service, have confirmed he has completed 32 days of hard labour so far and 17 out of 52 domestic violence classes.

Judge Schnegg has consequently allowed Chris to leave the US in May and June to perform at a series of concerts.

Brown has repeatedly apologized for his actions, which left Rihanna severely bruised and injured following a pre-Grammy awards party in February 2008.

He previously said, “I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you that I’m truly, truly sorry in that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better. What I did was unacceptable.”

Morgan Freeman’s hand has been left paralyzed.

The ‘Invictus’ actor was involved in a car crash in August 2008 and revealed his left hand has never fully recovered, leaving him unable to move it.

Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Invictus’, 72-year-old Morgan said, “I suffered nerve damage and it hasn’t gotten better. I can’t move it.

“If you don’t move your hand, it will swell up. Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?”

The Oscar-winning star was taken to hospital after he suffered a broken arm, broken elbow and damage to his shoulder after the accident which occurred as he was driving his 1997 Nissan Maxima car in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi.

The car went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over “several times”, according to one onlooker.

Morgan was removed from the car wreck using the ‘jaws of life’, a hydraulic rescue tool, and was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

His representative said at the time, “He has a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage but he is in good spirits.”

Actress Andrea Fay Friedman, 39, voiced a Family Guy character recently in a bit that took a swipe at Sarah Palin.

In Sunday’s episode, Friedman did the voice for Chris Griffin’s date, a girl who has Down Syndrome and says that her mother is the “former governor of Alaska.” Palin predictably struck out at the show, calling the material “unfunny” and the show’s creators “cruel, cold-hearted people.” But Friedman, who herself has Down Syndrome, emailed the New York Times in response to Palin’s camp’s outrage:

I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line “I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska” was very funny. I think the word is “sarcasm.”

In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life.

According to Gawker, the Times didn’t publish more scathing remarks made by Friedman in the email, in which she allegedly also said:

My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes.

Julie Cowell, 84, received a phone call from her music mogul son telling her he had got engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy and she couldn’t hide her delight.

She revealed, “I’m shocked. I was the first person he called to say he was getting engaged.

“He’s very contented with her. She’s a lovely woman and I’m delighted she’s so happy. I thought I would have departed from this world before Simon got married. I’m so happy he’s committed to this girl.”

Cheryl Cole’s home has been targeted by burglars.

The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer had windows in her $6.15 million Surrey mansion, South East England, forced open at 4.30am yesterday, Febuary 18, while her soccer player husband Ashley Cole was asleep upstairs.

After being disturbed, Ashley made a panicked telephone to police asking for help.

He said, “Please come quick. Someone’s trying to break in.”

Police arrived shortly after the call, but the intruders had already fled. Forensic experts were searching the mansion for clues yesterday. February 18.

It is believed the intruders may have been hoping to steal Cheryl’s wedding rings which are worth $418,400.

The Girls Aloud star flew to Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 17, without her expensive sparklers, following her husband Ashley Cole’s alleged infidelity with a blonde secretary.

When she left for LAX airport, Cheryl was wearing a gold-coloured ring instead.

A police source said, “It cannot be coincidence that people attempt to break into the family home when both of them are due to be out of the UK.”

Meanwhile, Cheryl has asked to be given some time alone during her promotional trip to the US.

The 26-year-old pop star is staying at a $1,300-a-night bungalow at the Chateau Marmont hotel, where she told staff, “I just want to be left alone.”

A source said, “She was tired after the flight. She just wanted to sleep and have time by herself. It’s been a hard few days.

“She is making Ashley sweat and wants him to think long and hard about their relationship. She does love him but wants time to think things over.”

Sienna Miller has reportedly been wearing her engagement ring again.

Talking about the lower arm exercises, she excitedly wrote, “It works wonders, especially for the batwing problem.”

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are to fund a school in Haiti.

The Oscar-winning actress and the country singer, who have a 19-month-old daughter Sunday Rose, are keen to help the earthquake-stricken nation by giving money to an education facility.

Keith said, “We’re actually going to be funding a school down there for the next five years.”

As well as providing an education, the school will also help provide the children with basic medical needs.

Keith added to radio station CatCountry 96, “It’s in Port-Au-Prince. The kids will also have one hot meal a day. They’ll have all of their medical taken care of by the school, and clothing, as well.”

The couple will be working with Oscar-winning director Paul Haggis and the Artists for Peace and Justice organization on the project.

The 35-year-old actor admits he struggles to cope when he is not surrounded by his friends and family and suffered from depression when he shot latest movie ‘Shutter Island’.

He said, “The loneliness is my personal demon. During the shooting of the movie it was like I fell into a black hole and was totally depressed.

“You’re cut off from friends, family – and your girlfriend. That’s brutal. The world kept turning while I was stuck on the set. It’s like a strange form of everyday amnesia.”

The movie is directed by Martin Scorsese and Leonardo admits he has became like a father to him after working together on several movies including ‘Gangs of New York’ and ‘The Departed’.

He told TV movie magazine, “We share a special relationship. Martin trusts my instincts.

“He is also Italian, from the same neighborhood and at the same age as my father. He gives me as an actor always the feeling of security.”
