Video: Showgirls 2 trailer transcends “so bad it’s good,” achieves “so bad there should be felony charges”

Perhaps you’ve caught replays of the original Showgirls (I cannot believe I just typed that phrase, “the original Showgirls“) on VH1, because apparently no one saw it in the theaters.

In the years since it tanked spectacularly, arguably taking Elizabeth Berkeley’s career into the fiery depths of cinema hell with it, the movie has become a bit of a “so bad it’s good” cult thing- like something you watch at 3:30 in the morning when you’re too drunk to safely make it to the remote and because there’s boobs. And it has Kyle McLachlan, before he started playing neutered men on lady-shows. So there’s that.

Apparently (and I really, really would be surprised if this wasn’t a lame stab at humor) there’s a sequel to Showgirls. No, really, I’m not even kidding. There’s a website, and a full screen trailer, and the absolute most amazingly worst acting and general other movie stuff I’ve ever seen in the history of ever. This makes Boondock Saints look like Schindler’s List, and Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day look like a speech by Winston Churchhill.

The trailer (and I use that word loosely, it actually seems to be a bunch of random three second clips, and is highly NSFW) is below, but you really should get the full-screen experience by going to Showgirls2.com.

Jennifer Hudson’s Fiance to Marry Her in Wrestling Ring

Jennifer Hudson’s fiance wants to marry her in a wrestling ring.

David Otunga, who is one of eight professional wrestlers appearing on the World Wrestling Entertainment’s new reality show ‘WWE NXT,’ believes the squared circle would be the perfect place to tie the knot.

When asked whether the WWE could convince the couple to get married in the ring, David joked, “We could do that. I don’t know if Jennifer would go for it, but I’d be up for it.”

As for the date, he says it’s set but won’t reveal anymore information. He revealed to E! Online, “I can’t divulge the date or anything but we definitely have the plans.”

The couple met at Jennifer’s 27th birthday party in 2008 and have a six-month-old son, David Jr., together.

Grappler David claims their child is already trying to follow in his singer mother’s musical footsteps.

He revealed, “One of his favorite things is to hear the piano. Jennifer will play the piano or sing to him, and he will calm down immediately.

“We had a guy over once tuning the piano and he was pecking the keys, and David started trying to sing and imitate the notes. It was the most unbelievable thing.”

Vegetable Fan Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp only leaves the house to check his vegetables.

The ‘Alice in Wonderland’ actor, who has children Lily Rose, ten, and Jack, seven, with partner Vanessa Paradis, admits he prefers his existence in France to a glitzy, Hollywood lifestyle.

He said, “We have a great place in the South of France. It’s a little hamlet, only about 45 acres, and I don’t do anything.

“I’ve not left the property for three months at a time. I literally just wake up, go out, check the garden and see the vegetables growing. It’s a pristine existence in terms of simplicity.

“There’s no talk of movies or work and, infinitely more important, the telephone never rings. It really is a beautiful, simple life.”

The 46-year-old star also claims a decision to buy an island in the Caribbean was a spur of the moment decision.

He said in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Like everything else in my life it wasn’t planned, it just kind of happened. I went on vacation to escape with my kiddies and my girl and someone said that there was an island down the road for sale.

“I said, ‘Let’s go see it.’ I looked at it, I walked on it and I was done. It had to be. It came at the perfect moment for me.

“The island provides me with simplicity and somewhere I can go where no one is looking at me or pointing a camera or a finger at me. I can just be. When we’re there we do absolutely nothing.”

While he insists he prefers the quiet life, Johnny jokingly claims he took a role in upcoming movie ‘The Tourist’ with Angelina Jolie, who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt, because he wants more attention.

He said, “I feel I’m not getting photographed by the paparazzi enough, so I figure I’ll go and hang out in Venice with Brad and Angelina.”

Andrew Koenig still not found, may be “lying low”

While the search for missing actor Andrew Koenig intensifies, conflicting clues have emerged in the investigation.

As is common in missing persons cases, there have been several sightings of the actor near Vancouver where he disappeared, but none are confirmed. Although Koenig was last seen on February 14th, his cell phone was last used on the 16th. Koenig’s ATM card was last used around the same time, and police have stated that they believe Koenig is just “lying low in Vancouver.” In a statement, police said:

“Cell phone and banking records up until the time he disappeared lead police to believe he is still in the Vancouver area. There has been no cell phone or bank activity since February 16th when he was last seen in south Vancouver.

“Police are still hopeful that Andrew will be found alive and safe.”

Though friends and family are concerned about Koenig’s safety, some believe the disappearance may have been a conscious decision on the part of the long depressed actor in response to dissatisfaction with his life:

Pal Lance Miccio visited Koenig’s California apartment on Monday night and said the flat was cleaned out and that the actor told friends two weeks ago he planned to move back to Vancouver to “start over.” Koenig, who was last seen February 14 and is said to be suffering from depression, chose the site of this year’s winter Olympics because he lived there nearly 20 years ago and considered it his “place for solace.”

Charlie Sheen Checked in a Rehab Clinic

Charlie Sheen has checked into rehab.

The ‘Two and a Half Men’ star, who is currently facing charges following allegations he attacked wife Brooke Mueller on Christmas Day, December 25, entered an undisclosed treatment center yesterday, February 23, his representative confirmed.

A statement said, “As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility.

“He will take some time off his series ‘Two and a Half Men.’ He has asked that his privacy be honored. No further statements are planned.”

Filming on ‘Two and a Half Men’ will be “temporarily suspended” and CBS, the network who produce the comedy, wish Sheen “nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter”.

The news comes just days after it was revealed Sheen had been visited by child protection services on Sunday, February 21.

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) dropped by the family home he shares with Mueller to check up on their 11-month-old twin sons Bob and Max following his December arrest.

The 44-year-old actor was arrested over domestic violence allegations, and was charged with a felony and two misdemeanours. He is expected to plead not guilty when he returns to a Colorado court next month.

While Sheen enters rehab, real estate investor Mueller quit her facility over an alleged breach of privacy.

The 31-year-old beauty, who had been staying at The Canyon rehabilitation centre in Malibu for substance abuse treatment, left after a staff member allegedly tried to passed confidential patient admissions documents onto the media.

She is now in another rehab center receiving treatment.

Cheryl Cole’s Husband, Ashley Cole, Begged for Therapy Rehab

Cheryl Cole’s husband offered to go to sex rehab to save their marriage.

The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer spent her first night back in the UK alone yesterday, February 23, after ending her marriage to soccer player Ashley Cole by text from Los Angeles, when it was revealed he had cheated on her with five other women.

Although Ashley, 29, bombarded Cheryl, 26, with a string of increasingly distressed voicemails, she ignored them as she discussed the end of the relationship with hunky dancer Derek Hough in the US.

A source close to Ashley told The Sun newspaper, “Ashley was calling every ten minutes or so and leaving messages.

“Ashley suggested they could go for counseling and that he could try therapy. He admitted for the first time that he has a problem.

“She was with Derek at the time talking about her future. One minute she was really upbeat, feeling strong and positive about a new life on her own. Then she would come crashing down and feel sorry for Ashley. But in the end she decided that she has to stay strong and stick to her plan.”

After landing back in the UK, Cheryl returned to the couple’s marital home in Surrey, hours after Ashley left to receive specialist treatment in France on his broken ankle.

Once at home, Cheryl phoned her mother, Joan, 49, for a heart-to-heart chat, but refused all visitors.

The Girls Aloud beauty left the house just once, when the fire brigade arrived after she accidentally set a fire alarm off.

Cheryl is said to have initially made the decision to dump Ashley two weeks ago, when allegations surfaced that Ashley had sent naked pictures of himself to a model, but waited until after last week’s BRIT Awards when she could fly to Los Angeles and have some time to think over her future.

Her final words to her husband were to tell him of her “disgust” at his behavior.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper, “She thought his excuses were pathetic. She didn’t believe a word he was saying.

“Her parting words to him were, ‘You have lied, lied and lied. You disgust me. I’ll see you around.”

Woody Harrelson’s Approving Mother

Woody Harrelson’s mother only approves of his career now he’s been nominated for an Oscar.

The 48-year-old star, who is up for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role as Captain Tony Stone in ‘The Messenger,’ has only just been accepted as an actor by his mum Diane, because he has been shortlisted for an honor alongside Hollywood veteran Christopher Plummer.

He revealed, “I got a note from my mom, and she said, ‘You finally arrived. You’ve been nominated in the same category with Christopher Plummer.’ So, I got my mom’s approval, which is enough, you know what I mean? I don’t need a statue.”

Woody and Christopher are up against ‘Invictus’ hunk Matt Damon, ‘The Lovely Bones’ star Stanley Tucci and ‘Inglourious Basterds’ actor Christoph Waltz for the prize.

Because of the star-studded nominees, Woody is convinced he only has a minute chance of scooping the coveted award.

He revealed on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, which will air tonight, February 24, “I look at being nominated as a win. I have to think that way. I think my chances of winning are probably about less than one per cent.”

The 82nd Academy Awards will take place on Sunday March 7, at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.

America Ferrera in ‘Ugly Betty’ Denial

America Ferrera is “in denial” that ‘Ugly Betty’ has been canceled.

The actress, who has portrayed dowdy Betty Suarez in the US TV show since 2006, can’t bring herself to think about her impending final scenes, because she completely adored playing the frumpy fashion magazine assistant and is devastated it is about to end.

She said, “I’ve lived with this character who I’ve loved from day one and I have only grown to feel more connected to her and also responsible for making sure her journey is a complete one. Her entire journey was about a transformation, kind of coming into her womanhood and owning herself both physically and emotionally. It’s hard to say goodbye. I haven’t really started going there yet because I still have four episodes to shoot. So I’m staying in denial for now and I’ll deal with all those emotions in a little bit. I imagine that when we finally wrap it’s not going to be a dry-eyed goodbye.”

It was recently revealed ‘Ugly Betty’ would be canceled once cast and crew had finished working on the fourth series.

Part of the reason why America is sad to leave the role behind is because her portrayal of Betty has greatly helped her develop as a person herself and made her realize her ambitions as a TV actress.

She explained to Parade.com, “I never really pictured myself being on television. I couldn’t imagine a world coming along that would entice me enough to sign away years and years of my life to one character. Then Betty came around. I was 21 when I started and I’ve learned so much and grown so much as a person. It has to be about believing in what you’re doing.”
