Steven Spielberg Paranoid About Security

Steven Spielberg is said to be so paranoid about security he has a getaway motorbike permanently parked outside his office.

A new book, written by journalist Nicole LaPorte, alleges the ‘Indiana Jones’ director keeps the never-before-used bike for the gravest emergencies and at one point his employees were issued with ‘survival kits’ which included gas masks.

LaPorte also claims he is so secretive he verges on “near-paranoia” and abides by several bizarre practices to keep his business secret, including keeping a “dome of silence” above his desk.

One extract from ‘The Men Who Would Be King: An Almost Epic Tale of Moguls, Movies, and a Company Called DreamWorks’ reads, “In Spielberg’s office, hanging above his desk, a plexiglass half-moon keeps sound from reverberating so that his phone conversations remain ultra-confidential. When an assistant once asked what the funny thing over Spielberg’s desk was, a security guard referred to it as a ‘dome of silence’.”

Another extract alleges, “When Spielberg’s long-time editor views footage in the screening room, a black cloth is draped over the projection booth window to hide the screen.”

While a third extract claims, “Every document that leaves the office – a script, development report, even a memo – is coded, so that should it somehow get into the wrong hands, the person responsible for the breach can be identified.”

Spielberg’s representative has denied the claims in the book and insists they are not true.

The spokesperson said, “This description is so far from the real world of Steven that it doesn’t deserve a comment.

“If the rest of the book is like this excerpt, readers can expect very little of what they read to be true.”

LaPorte has defended her work, however, saying although none of the DreamWorks founders would talk to her, she has spoken to nearly 200 current and former employees.

Expend two minutes to watch a trailer for a kick-ass movie

If there is one thing that can be said for Sylvester Stallone it is that he can sure make one high powered kicak-ass action movie.

Now toss in Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke and Danney Trejo and you have what will be some of the best two hours of mindless blow shit up fun you have seen in some time.

I am of course talking about Stallone’s new movie The Expendables which is due to hit theaters in August 2010 but for now here is an official trailer for the movie to hold you over.

Young Cougar Courtney Cox-Arquette

Courteney Cox-Arquette is a lot younger than most of her husband’s ex-lovers.

The 45-year-old actress claims spouse David Arquette – who, at 38, is seven years younger than her – has always adored older women and most of his previous partners were a lot older than she is.

Discussing what her husband thinks about her being a “cougar”, the nickname given to older women who dates younger men, she explained, “He loves it! Let me tell you, I’m young compared to some people he’s dated – he likes older women. Always has.

“I don’t have a problem with cougars. My husband David is much younger than me, so I’ve been blazing that trail for over 10 years. To me, it’s just someone who dates younger men, so who cares?”

‘Cougar Town’ star Courteney, who has five-year-old daughter Coco with her husband, believes a lot of men are attracted to older women because they know what they want and don’t play mind games.

She added to Stylist magazine, “I used to think a cougar was a woman who had lots of plastic surgery, who was trying to look younger, and dating what she thought was her contemporary even though she was so much older. Now I just think it’s a woman who’s confident, who uses her confidence to date younger guys. There are a lot of men who actually are more attracted to older women because there’s no game-playing. I know that’s true of my husband.”

While Courteney doesn’t mind getting older, she doesn’t think this would be the case if she was single.

She added, “I am happy being 45. I’m lucky, I’m married to someone who is not judgemental about ageing at all. But it would be really scary if I wasn’t married and had to go back out there.”

Sam Worthington Lucky at Wearing Skirt

Sam Worthington thinks wearing a skirt has boosted his career.

The ‘Clash of the Titans’ actor, who plays Perseus, son of the gods in the new movie remake, insists he didn’t feel embarrassed about having to wear the skimpy garment in the film as it is something he has seen other Australian actors do in their earlier work.

He said, “The upside is that it’s very well ventilated. Look, Russell Crowe wore one for ‘Gladiator’, Eric Bana wore one for ‘Troy’, Mel Gibson wore one for ‘Braveheart’. I think it was the next logical step in my career. I think it’s something every young Australian actor has to do, isn’t it? You earn your chops for putting on the dress.”

While Sam is comfortable with the attention he received for wearing the outfit, he was unprepared for the stir created by the red sneakers he wore to the Academy Awards earlier this month because they were a cheap, last-minute purchase.

He explained to Parade.com, “The ones they gave me made me look like a hobgoblin. Jennifer Lopez would have tripped on them, and I would probably have fallen off the stage and ripped her dress. It would have been ridiculous, so I just kind of went with what was comfortable.

“I bought a pair of red ones for a few bucks at Payless, which was the closest store. I didn’t give a crap how they looked because they were comfy. But I guess the word spread, which is kind of cool. They sold every red pair they had. Now I guess I’m kind of the Payless poster boy.”

Pamela Anderson Won’t Give Away “Mojo”

Pamela Anderson doesn’t want to lose her “mojo” to a man.

The former ‘Baywatch’ beauty, who is currently appearing in US TV talent show ‘Dancing With The Stars’ – is “fairly single” and is determined not to get caught up in a heavy relationship while she’s competing on the programme, because she wants to give her dance routines her all.

She said, “I’m fairly single, but I’m not on the lookout. I’m not going to give away my mojo – I’m going to keep all that just for the dance and my dance partner!”

The 42-year-old blonde is looking forward to wearing a host of daring and glitzy outfits for her performances and hopes her strenuous rehearsals will help her shape up.

She added to Reveal magazine, “Hopefully things will move around a bit – I’ve had two kids, you know! Dancing really works your body all over, so it’s different from going to the gym – which I don’t do! This is the only way I’m going to get round to working out, because I’ll have to do it.”

Jesse James in rehab as Nazi pic, orgy story hit internet

Poor Sandra Bullock.

If the whole Nazi mistress with white power tattoos selling her story to all and sundry thing wasn’t bad enough, Us Weekly’s latest cover is probably a bit horrifying and awful for the recent Oscar winner. Not content to merely bone neo-Nazi sleazebuckets, Jesse James apparently hit a trifecta of Nazi flirtation in the pics most likely sold to Us for a princely sum.

In the image above, James is smiling rougishly at the camera while wearing Nazi hat, Nazi saluting, and referencing Hitler’s unique mustache with his fingers. And that’s not all in today’s “Jesse James is an anti-semitic, philandering douche” news. Apparently, someone named Skittles Valentine spilled the beans on some Jesse James related orgies while Sandra Bullock was filming The Proposal:

Life & Style has a report of an alleged foursome James and Michelle “Bombshell” McGee participated in last year with another couple (though for those keeping track at home, the man-man was the only combo that didn’t materialize during the alleged romp).

The magazine quotes Skittles Valentine, along with her inked-up tattoo artist boyfriend Eric McDougall, saying the alleged encounter took place after they met last June (while Bullock was promoting The Proposal) at the Ink-n-Iron tattoo festival after McDougall filled in, of all things, an octopus tattoo for Jesse free of charge.

James is reportedly in rehab, although I’d hazard a guess at this point that the marriage is likely not salvageable.

Bowersox mixes it up with “Midnight Train to Georgia,” Simon urges caution

Damn you, Crystal Bowersox, for making American Idol somewhat watchable.

I have to admit to not actually watching the show (but I have, for Bowersox) and mainly just catching the CB recaps on the internet. I don’t know what it is with this chick, but she keeps picking songs that are like eminently meaningful and have such a high bar for fail that if she did one thing wrong, they would be ruined. Like “Midnight Train to Georgia” or “Me and Bobby McGee” or “Piece of My Heart,” which are all songs that could easily, epically fall flat.

Last night, Bowersox threw a curve ball. She lost the acoustic guitar and standard-issue Phish concert outfit and, with some Pips-ian backup singers and a fancy red dress, knocked it out of the park with an amazing version of “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Usher was impressed. Randy and Ellen and 2nd Paula dug it hard. Simon crisised for a bit because he feels Bowersox might be diluting herself.

Below, a clip of the performance. What do you think? Is Crystal branching out well, or is she one bikini wax away from American Idol plasticity?

Amanda Seyfield Preferred Channing Tatum’s Kiss

Amanda Seyfried thinks Channing Tatum is a better kisser than Megan Fox.

The actress locked lips with the hunk in their new movie ‘Dear John’ and she admitted she enjoyed the experience much more than her same-sex encounter in horror film ‘Jennifer’s Body’.

When asked which of her two co-stars was the better kisser, Amanda said, “Channing of course”.

The blonde beauty and Channing braved the cold and rain to attend the UK gala screening of ‘Dear John’ at London’s Odeon Kensington cinema, where the stars also spoke about their off-screen romances.

Amanda is currently dating Dominic Cooper, who she starred with in ‘Mamma Mia!’ and insists that the British actor is comfortable watching her in love scenes with other people.

She added to BANG Showbiz, “Dominic isn’t too bothered about those things, he doesn’t get jealous.”

Meanwhile, Channing – who married his ‘Step Up’ co-star Jenna Dewan in July 2009 – revealed he and his spouse have no plans to start a family in the near future as the actress wants to focus on her work.

He said, “Jenna wants to concentrate on her career and getting pregnant would take her out of the game, so we have no plans to have a baby at the moment.”

Lady Gaga’s Tea and Cheese Demands

Lady Gaga requests tea and cheese in her concert riders.

The eccentric pop star, who is known for her extravagant stage sets, has a surprisingly low-key list of requests for her backstage rider, including no alcohol.

The ‘Telephone’ singer demands a roast chicken, a plate of cheese on ice with a tray of assorted meats, low-fat milk, salsa dips and whole-wheat bread and crackers to snack on before and after her gigs.

Instead of alcoholic beverages, the 24-year-old star asks for ginger ale, 12 bottles of still water and a hot cup of tea or decaffeinated coffee.

A music industry source told the Daily Star newspaper, “Despite her out-there image, this rider proves that Lady Gaga is actually quite down to earth and normal compared to the diva-like demands of some pop stars.”

Lady Gaga also requests a pot of honey, which is known to combat stomach ulcers and sooth sore throats.

Alexandra Burke is another star to follow in her footsteps as she demands an expensive $15 jar of Manuka honey before all her shows. However, Mariah Carey lives up to her diva reputation by demanding

$1,135-a-bottle Cristal champagne and Evian water.

Ricky Martin Stronger After Coming Out

Ricky Martin is feeling “stronger than ever” after coming out as gay.

The 38-year-old singer, who revealed he is homosexual in an emotional message on his official website, took to twitter to thank his fans for their support.

He wrote, “Whats going on gang?I’m doing great! Stronger than ever! I’m here relaxing @ home enjoying ur messages! I feel the love! Thanx for all! peace(sic)”

The Puerto Rican star also wrote the message in Spanish for his international fan base.

Writing on his official website, Ricky claimed it was the birth of his twin boys Matteo and Valentino from a surrogate in August 2008 that led him to admit his sexuality.

He said, “To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids where born with. Enough is enough. This has to change.”

The ‘Livin’ la Vida Loca’ singer also revealed it took him many years of contemplation to announce he was a homosexual man.

He said, “This was not supposed to happen 5 or 10 years ago, it is supposed to happen now. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment.

“These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed.

“I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.”
