Katy Perry has been named the world’s hottest woman.

The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker, who is engaged to Russell Brand, topped the annual Maxim Hot 100 list for being “sexy and talented”, narrowly beating Victoria’s Secret model Brooklyn Decker and ‘Avatar’ actress Zoe Saldana into second and third place respectively.

Explaining her top ranking, the US men’s magazine said of Katy, “She’s the best friend you suddenly realize you’ve loved your whole life. The rad chick who taught you to skateboard and whistle and also looks unbelievable in a bikini.”

Making up the rest of the top five were ‘Gossip Girl’ star Blake Lively, and ‘Transformers’ beauty Megan Fox, while ‘Russian Roulette’ singer Rihanna, George Clooney’s girlfriend Elizabetta Canalis, actress Olivia Munn, socialite Kim Kardashian and model Marisa Miller made up the rest of the top 10.

Last year’s Maxim Hot 100 number one Olivia Wilde scraped in at number 20, while notable absentees included Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga.

Jay-Z wants Rihanna be the sexy face and body of a new burlesque nightclub chain.

The ‘Rude Boy’ singer’s mentor thinks the sexy venture would be perfect for her because she is so well known for her curvaceous body and racy stage outfits.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper, “All the top people think she’s smoking hot. They’re desperate to make her the face and body of a new burlesque club. Jay sees it as a great business opportunity.”

Rihanna’s style has already inspired one fellow pop star – her new friend Pixie Lott.

The pair have become inseparable as Pixie supports Rihanna on the European leg of her ‘Last Girl on Earth’ tour, and have been swapping fashion tips backstage some of which Pixie wants to incorporate into her Lipsy fashion range.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper, “All Pixie and Rihanna talk about backstage is fashion. Pixie loves Rihanna’s style and would love to incorporate it into her designs.”

Rihanna is set for a busy year, with a book deal in the pipeline and a new fragrance, Route 22, scheduled to come out in the summer.

Tori Spelling burst into tears as she renewed her wedding vows to husband Dean McDermott at the weekend.

The ‘90210’ actress and her spouse re-affirmed their love for one another on Saturday, May 8, whilst stood in a sandpit in a private ceremony at a Beverly Hills house.

Tori wore a low-back strapless white dress as she walked down the aisle with their 23-month-old daughter Stella to a waiting Dean and the couple’s three-year-old son Liam.

The couple, who first wed in a private ceremony on a beach in Fiji in May 2006, held hands and gazed at each other lovingly as they repeated their original vows while their young children played in the sand at their feet.

According to Us Weekly magazine, the 36-year-old actress “was teary-eyed as she read hers. Then they rinsed their wedding rings in the ocean water from the buckets and received the traditional vow exchange.”

During the romantic ritual, Dean, 43, presented the blonde star with a bespoke diamond-encrusted eternity ring by jewelery designer Neil Lane.

Towards the end of the service the pair gave their young offspring matching gold bracelets to mark the occasion.

Tori and Dean then kissed as guests threw handfuls of white feathers in the air around them.

The event was especially significant for Tori, who was joined on her special day by her mother Candy – who she recently reconciled with following several years of estrangement.

At a party after the day’s romantic ceremony, the blonde actress told Candy, “Thank you so much for coming.”

Gemma Arterton didn’t get to hang out with Jake Gyllenhaal while making ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’ – because he was always in the gym.

The 24-year-old actress, who plays Princess Tamina in the action adventure movie, admits there was little time to get to know the Oscar-nominated star because he was so busy bulking up to play the titular character Prince Dastan.

Speaking at the world premiere of the Disney film at the Vue cinema in London’s Westfield shopping centre yesterday, May 9, she told BANG Showbiz “We didn’t have time to socialize. He was too busy in the gym – although we did go to dinner. It was all very civilized.

“But he’s so much fun. He’s gorgeous.”

The British beauty is no stranger to the gym and keeps in shape by avoiding sugary sweets and exercising when she needs to.

She said, “I don’t eat boxes and boxes of chocolates! But I still eat what I like. And I do a bit of exercise.”

Gemma was joined on the red carpet by her ‘Prince of Persia…’ co-stars Jake, Sir Ben Kingsley and producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Mike Newell.

Mel Gibson allegedly cheated on ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva while she was pregnant with their daughter.

Porn producer Violet Kowal claims to have had a three-month fling with the ‘Mad Max’ star last year, with the reported romps happening at his Malibu home and office in Santa Monica.

The 26-year-old Polish filmmaker told National Enquirer magazine, “Mel’s break-up with Oksana doesn’t surprise me at all. Clearly, Mel can’t commit to just one woman.”

Violet was also very impressed with 54-year-old Mel’s skills in the bedroom department, saying, “Mel’s great in bed! It was the best sex I’ve ever had!”

Although Mel’s lawyer has branded the story “an absurd fabrication”, Violet is said to have passed a lie detector test.

Oksana gave birth to Lucia last November but she and Mel announced their split just five months later.

While she has refused to give the real reasons behind the break-up, the Russian musician has previously hinted there would be some shocking revelations.

She said, “I can tell you that we have split up, suddenly and recently. Unfortunately, I cannot give you the reason. But you will find out everything quite soon.

Despite initial reports insisting they are still on good terms, it was recently claimed Mel ended their relationship following a huge row after Oksana accused him of cheating.

Mel has seven children with estranged wife Robyn, who filed for divorce last May.

Following the legal proceedings, it emerged the couple had been separated for some time and the actor was in a relationship with Oksana, who has 12-year-old son Alexander with ex-boyfriend Timothy Dalton.

The ex-Mr. Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, proposed to his longtime girlfriend and manager Alicia Etheridge on stage at a concert in Jacksonville’s Metro Park on Friday night.

Brown was playing a show for Funk Fest when his girlfriend of three years (and mother to his 11-year-old son Cassius, who was present on stage, too) joined him. Attendees say that Brown then got down on one knee and asked Etheridge to marry him in front of excited fans:

Paul and Carol Pearsall, who lives on the Westside, said the proposal was shocking, as Brown got down on one knee to ask for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage.

“We shouted, we screamed,” Carol Pearsall said. “We supported him.”

“Hopefully he’ll get it right this time,” her husband quipped.

Pearsall was referring to Brown’s ill-fated marriage to troubled singer Whitney Houston. The marriage lasted 15 years and produced one child, Bobbi Kristina, who is now 17-years-old. The pair took part in a reality show titled Being Bobby Brown in the earlier part of the decade that openly showed the couple’s marital troubles and struggles with substance abuse.

Houston spoke during promotions for her most recent album last year about the end of her troubled marriage to Bobby Brown:

“He was my drug,” Houston, 46, said. “I didn’t do anything without him. I wasn’t getting high by myself. It was me and him together, and we were partners, and that’s what my high was — him. He and I being together, and whatever we did, we did it together. No matter what, we did it together.”

In addition to baby Cassius and Bobby Kristina, Brown has three other children from previous relationships. The marriage to Etheridge will be his second.

Kylie Minogue never wants to stop performing and can see herself “going out with a purple rinse”.

The 41-year-old singer has just announced the release of her eleventh studio album, ‘Aphrodite’, and sees her career continuing until she is an old lady with dyed hair.

She told Elle magazine, “I can see me going out with a purple rinse. And one of my greatest idols, Dolly Parton, keeps on doing it. We’ll see.”

However, the ‘All The Lovers’ singer never plans ahead and likes to take on opportunities as they arise, confessing she is a “thrill seeker”.

She added, “I’m not very good at long-term plans. And so many opportunities arise seemingly from nowhere and I like to have the option to, say, go to Mumbai and be in a Bollywood film, just because I want the experience.

“I guess I’m a thrill-seeker. I certainly don’t always take the safe option.”

The diminutive star, who has overcome breast cancer, feels very lucky and recognizes she has had a great life but there is one thing she would change about herself – her height.

She said, “Most days my glass is half full, I think I’m fortunate and blessed in all that I have. But if there are things that bug you, they will always bug you. I wouldn’t mind being a few inches taller.”

Sharon Osbourne couldn’t live without husband Ozzy.

The TV star wed the rocker in 1982 and says the pair, who between them have battled cancer, eating problems and drink and drug addictions – are still deeply in love and couldn’t imagine a life without each other.

She said, “When Ozzy gets up in the morning he has to ask me which jacket to wear, and I have to tell him nobody’s worn that particular style for the last 10 years. He’s fashion blind, but we’ve been to hell and back together. Now, he couldn’t survive without me and I couldn’t survive without him. I wouldn’t want to.”

Despite their rock ’n’ roll roots, Sharon – who has three grown up children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack, with Ozzy – insists they have a boring lifestyle.

She said, “Ozzy and I like to lie in bed in our jim-jams all day, Ozzy with his bags of liquorice, which he can’t live without, and me with my cups of tea. We’ll go through all the magazines. I’ll have the laptop on at the same time to see that’s going on in the world.”

Despite their domestic bliss, Ozzy does have habits which get on Sharon’s nerves.

She said, “He chews gum constantly, and the way he does it drives me insane. He makes this noisy, slappy sound every time he speaks. It’s hideous.”

Cate Blanchett’s sons were impressed when she messed up a stunt.

The actress – who has Dashiell, eight, Roman, six, and Ignatius, two with husband Andrew Upton – brought her family onto the UK set of her latest movie ‘Robin Hood’, in which she plays Maid Marion, and admits her children were delighted to see her getting involved in the action.

Explaining why she took the role, she said, “It seemed like a great way for us all to spend the summer back in the UK – and it was. In fact, it was thrilling. Our boys had a ball. I went up in their estimation from the first night on set, when I was called on to shoot a flaming arrow, missed my mark and hit a light, which duly exploded. I mean, how many mums do stuff like that?”

The 40-year-old actress, who now resides in her native Australia, also admitted her priorities have changed when considering her next movie because she has to put her family first.

She told the Times Online, “Anyone with children will tell you the same thing. Starting out as single women, our first questions about any job are, ‘What kind of role is it?’ and ‘Who will I be working with?’. But as soon as we have kids, we find ourselves asking, ‘How long’s the shoot?’ and ‘Can it be done in the school holidays?’

“Suddenly, your attitude becomes very pragmatic. It has to, because shifting your household to another hemisphere is a major upheaval and there has to be a pretty compelling reason for you to do it.”

The blonde beauty previously lived in England for 10 years and she admits one of the things she misses most about the UK is cold weather.

She added, “I miss the seasons, definitely. I miss the cold. We were filming Robin Hood in Windsor Great Park, which I’d never visited before… That place is just divine. It could turn you into a tree-hugger. Friends, too, of course. And I miss Brighton a lot, which is where we were before leaving.”

Christina Aguilera loves the “comfort” her husband gives her.

The ‘Ain’t No Other Man’ singer, who has two-year-old son Max with spouse Jordan Bratman, admits she fell in love with the music executive because he makes her feel secure and at ease with herself.

She said, “Jordan is just that guy that walks into a room and he can really make me smile. That’s how I started falling in love with him. He just had this essence of comfort. He is and continues to be my biggest fan, and just such a number one supporter. He’s a great man. I’m lucky to have him.”

The singer, who recently filmed her movie debut opposite Cher in ‘Burlesque,’ also insists she will never tone down her raunchy image for the sake of her son because she views her professional and home lives as two separate entities.

She explained, “There’s two different hats for me. Sexuality to me, it’s really nothing to be ashamed of. I feel like there’s so many labels put upon women. Everyone has their own comfort zone with what that means for them.

“Being a mum and being an artist that expresses myself are two very different things for me, they’re two very different hats that I wear. Do I lessen anything because I’m either married or have a child? No. Because it’s all about self-expression and being an artist. It’s so important to me. I’m not just a singer. I’m an artist who gets visually inspired and collects art.”

Despite her relaxed attitude to her image, Christina acknowledges that Max will eventually ask her questions about it and claims she is looking forward to hearing his views.

She added, “Eventually he’s going to get to that age where he’s going to have his own opinions about it, and I’ll be open to hearing them. And he’s going to hear the reasons why I chose to do the things that I did. And I take pride in that. What does Ozzy Osbourne say when he explains to his kids eating the heads off bats?”
