Raquel Welch Blames Pill for Sexual Morality Breakdown

Raquel Welch has blamed the contraceptive pill for the breakdown of sexual morality.

The ‘One Million Years B.C.’ actress believes the use of oral contraception, which became available in the 60s, has encouraged promiscuity and young people no longer care about the institute of marriage.

Raquel, who was once voted by Playboy magazine as the most desirable female of the 70s, told CNN TV for ‘It’s Sex O’Clock in America’: “The growing proliferation of birth control methods has had an awesome effect on both sexes and led to a sea change in moral values.

“And a significant and enduring effect on women was the idea they could have sex without any consequences – meaning fewer today see marriage as a viable option

“Seriously, folks, if an ageing sex symbol like me starts waving the red flag of caution over how low moral standards have plummeted, you know it’s gotta be pretty bad.”

However, Raquel, who has been married three times, admits the pill has had some benefits for young women.

The 69-year-old star said, “A positive consequence of the pill is that it’s now easier for a woman to choose to delay having children until after she established herself in a career.”

Cynthia Nixon Loves Christine Marinoni’s “Butchness”

Cynthia Nixon loves her partner’s “butchness”.

The ‘Sex and the City 2’ actress – who has been dating Christine Marinoni since January 2004 – admits her partner is masculine but jokes those who know them believe the flame-haired star is the “butch” one in the relationship.

She said, “She’s basically a short man with boobs. A lot of what I love about her is her butchness. I’m not saying I fell in love with her in a sexually neutral way. I love her sexuality – it’s a big part of what I love about her – but I feel like it was her.

“It wasn’t something in me that was waiting to come out. It was like, this person is undeniable. How can I let this person walk by? Christine would probably kill me for saying this, but my daughter said one time that if you really had to break this down, it looks like she would be butch and I would be femme… but really once you get to know us it’s really the opposite.”

Cynthia, 44, also claims her publicist wanted to stop her from revealing her sexuality following her split from English professor Danny Mozes in 2003, but she decided to go ahead with it as she thought it would sound “playground” to call Christine her friend.

She added to gay and lesbian magazine Advocate, “He just kept saying, ‘It’s your life, and it’s private, and that’s it.’ And we kept asking, ‘That’s the whole thing? We never move past that? We’re at the playground with the kids, and pictures are taken of us, and we say, ‘No, she’s my friend?’ ”

Cynthia, who plays feisty lawyer Miranda Hobbes in the ‘Sex and the City’ movies and TV series, will return to cinema screens at the end of the month to reprise the role in the second feature film alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis.

Daniel Radcliffe’s Fitness Regime for Upcoming Broadway Musical

Daniel Radcliffe is getting in shape for his upcoming Broadway role.

The ‘Harry Potter’ star is preparing to bare his torso in the New York theater district for upcoming musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’, in which he will appear in some shirtless scenes as a window cleaner.

A friend said, “Daniel wants to completely re-sculpt his body. He’s already lost nearly 14 lbs in the past month.”

In order to achieve his dream body, Daniel – who appeared naked in theatre production ‘Equus’, which ran on London’s West End and Broadway – has given up junk food and stopped smoking.

The friend added to The Sun newspaper, “Daniel is taking his fitness regime really seriously. He’s stopped drinking, knocked the cigarettes on the head and is watching every mouthful.”

In ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’, the 20-year-old star will play J. Pierrepont Finch, who goes from a window cleaner to a mailroom employee who then quickly rises to the top of the corporate ladder to become vice-president of advertising at the Worldwide Wicket Company.

The play is to open next spring.

Michael Lohan Begs Judge to Order Lindsay Lohan to Enter Rehab

Lindsay Lohan’s father has begged a judge to order her to rehab.

Michael Lohan, who has repeatedly claimed the actress is addicted to prescription drugs, had his lawyer Lisa Bloom write a letter to the official presiding over her driving over the influence (DUI) probation case asking for more steps to be taken to intervene in his daughter’s life.

The note read, “It is clear to Michael that the current court-ordered condition of her probation – namely, that she is required only to attend alcohol education classes – is insufficient.”

The letter goes on to ask that the judge “order Lindsay into an inpatient residential drug and alcohol treatment programme”.

In the document, obtained by gossip website TMZ, it is suggested the ‘Mean Girls’ star could receive treatment at New York facility Cold Spring Hills, adding, “Her family could easily attend family therapy with her as needed.”

Michael acknowledges the 23-year-old star may not be sent to rehab, so has also suggested an alternative intervention plan.

The letter explains, “Michael respectfully requests the Court order Lindsay to be subject to frequent, random, court ordered drug testing; that Lindsay be subjected to random searches of her home and person by law enforcement; and that Lindsay’s probation be extended for an additional term of years to continue her period of court supervision.”

According to the document, Michael is asking for legal help because he is so concerned the actress’ alleged drug habit will kill her in the way other celebrities have died.

It concludes, “It is painful for a father to ask a court for stricter controls on his own beloved daughter, but the alternative – that Lindsay becomes the next Hollywood statistic, the next Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson or Anna Nicole Smith – is far worse.”

Lindsay was sentenced to three years probation in August 2007 after pleading guilty to cocaine use and DUI.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand Plans Small Wedding

Katy Perry and Russell Brand don’t want their wedding to be a “drunk fest of people”.

The couple, who got engaged in December, are planning a “small” but lavish ceremony because they want the occasion to be memorable and all about their love for one another.

She told People magazine, “I think the wedding will be small. I always have a ton of people around me and I think the people that are going to share this moment with us are the people we want to integrate into each other’s lives.

“We don’t necessarily want it to be a drunk fest of people just, you know, one night and then forgetting about it. We want it to be about the love. So sometimes to be about the love, we have to take them out of their comfort zone.”

However, the 25-year-old pop beauty and her 34-year-old fiance, who was known for his womanizing ways before he settled down with Katy – will throw “a big, fat reception for the people who can’t make it”.

Since Russell popped the question he has grown increasingly obsessed with the wedding plans and Katy recently revealed he can’t stop buying bridal magazines.

Although the curvy brunette isn’t as sentimental as her future spouse, she does want her wedding dress to have a special meaning and has been discussing ideas with fashion designer John Galliano.

She added, “We have been kind of talking to John Galliano because that was the first fashion show in Paris that we kind of came out as a couple. So if we did Galliano, it would make it full circle.”

Amanda Seyfield’s Career Before Love

Amanda Seyfried puts her career before love.

The 24-year-old star, who has been dating the British actor Dominic Cooper since they met on the set of ‘Mamma Mia!’ in 2008, admitted she would normally put her career in Hollywood before any man in her life.

Speaking of her role in the movie ‘Letters to Juliet’ she said, “My character was very motivated by her job and not by her love life, which is kind of normal for a girl her age. I know it is for me. Sometimes I focus less on my relationship and more on my career.”

The actress also claimed that being in a relationship can become “very warped” when you’re so in love with somebody.

She told Parade.com, “I think it’s common to meet somebody and fall in love right away, but the rest isn’t easy. When you’re in love, sometimes you just can’t see it realistically. The world inside a relationship can be very warped because of feelings and memories, and it all becomes jumbled.”

Amanda admitted her own trans-Atlantic relationship with Dominic, 31, had been quite a challenge at times.

She said: “It’s never easy to be separated from someone you love. When your love lives in another country, it’s a lot of miles on airplanes, a lot of distance in space and in time. I always find it hard, even after you’re separated even for just a few days.”

Marisa Miller Named Sexiest Woman in the World by FHM

Marisa Miller has stolen the sexiest woman in the world crown from Megan Fox.

The US supermodel, who has worked for Sports Illustrated, Victoria’s Secret and Harley Davidson, has been named as the sexiest woman on earth by a global poll for FHM, which pushes last years’ winner, the actress Megan Fox, back down into second place.

The blonde beauty was victorious after over a million votes were cast from all the world’s FHM magazines, which were then pooled together to create one global chart.

The magazine brand is popular in a variety of countries, including Africa to Germany, as well as France, Russia and India.

Marisa, who lives in California, is one of the world’s most desired glamour models and has been hailed as one of the greatest supermodels.

Of such acclaim, Marisa previously said, “I get a kick out of it, but it would be stupid to let it go to my head. It’s modeling—I didn’t find the cure for cancer.”

The ‘Girls Aloud’ star Cheryl Cole won the title in the UK edition of the magazine.

Amanda Peet’s Baby Name Drama

Amanda Peet couldn’t stop “fighting” with her husband over the name of their baby.

The ‘2012′ actress, who celebrated the arrival of her second daughter, Molly June, with her screenwriter husband David Benioff last month – admitted they were so confused about what to call the newborn that it was only when they had to sign official documents that a decision was made.

Speaking to US TV host David Letterman, she said, “We were fighting about it a lot and you can’t leave the hospital until you sign the paper with the name so we got right up to the point where the nurse was trying to usher us to leave.

“We still couldn’t choose between Maya June and Molly June. So finally David tore off two little pieces of paper, wrote the names on each paper, and put them behind his back.”

It was only when Amanda picked Maya June, that she realized it just wasn’t suitable.

She said, “I chose one of them and it was Maya and then I got really upset, so…”

The 38-year-old star, who had to cancel her original appearance on the TV talk show because she started experiencing labour pains, admitted her first child, Frances Pen, three, is welcoming the new addition with open arms.

She said, “She’s a little more moody than usual, but it’s not really directed at the baby. It’s more like, ‘Frankie, eat your broccoli,’ and she starts screaming. She wants to have a baby in her belly and she wants to breastfeed.”

Mel B’s Baby Talks

Mel B talks about having another baby with her children.

The former Spice Girls singer – who has girls Phoenix, 11, and Angel Iris, three, from previous relationships and is stepmother to husband Stephen Belafonte’s six-year-old daughter Giselle – has made no secret of her desire to expand her family further and says the couple’s kids support her decision.

She said, “Any plans for another baby? Yeah, most definitely! All us girls were talking about it and I’m definitely on track to have more kids, whether it’s this year or next year. I’ve got two great daughters and a beautiful stepdaughter. I love family.

Mel’s daughters have recently been seen sporting a similar partially-shaved haircut to their mother’s, but the outspoken star insists she didn’t force them into copying her.

She added in an interview with new! magazine, “They are cute! My kids let me know exactly what they do and don’t want – it wasn’t me who made them get their hair cut. They wouldn’t allow me to get their hair done if they didn’t approve.”

Mel recently admitted she and Stephen would love to have a son.

She said, “I love kids. Between me and my husband, we have three. So yeah, we definitely want to have some together, which would be good.

“It’d be nice to throw a boy in there too because we’ve got three girls. We’ll see.”

Kimberley Walsh Comforts Cheryl Cole Over Marriage Split

Kimberley Walsh is supporting Cheryl Cole through her marriage split.

The Girls Aloud singer admits she is particularly close to her bandmate, who separated from soccer star husband Ashley Cole earlier this year amid allegations he had cheated on her with several women,  and hopes she has been as supportive for her pal as she has been to her in the past.

She said, “Of course, it’s hard when any of your friends go through something upsetting. But all you can do is be as supportive as you possibly can be.

“With Cheryl and Nicola Roberts, it’s the same. I don’t know why we’ve bonded like we have, but I’d count them among my best friends. I look back at certain moments and think, ‘What would I have done without them?’ I wouldn’t have coped.”

While Kimberley is close to Cheryl and Nicola, she admits she has “drifted apart” from Los Angeles-based bandmate Nadine Coyle and admits they don’t socialise together.

She told Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “People look for conflict where there isn’t any. In any group there will be people you are really on the same wavelength as and others where it’s different. But it doesn’t mean we’re not friends. It’s like anyone you work with – you can get on really well but that doesn’t mean you want to go on holiday with them.

“Nadine lives in Los Angeles now so it’s inevitable you grow apart.”

Despite the Irish singer quashing rumours of a rift between the group, bandmate Sarah Harding recently admitted she didn’t even know Nadine had made a trip to London recently.

She said, “I didn’t even now she was in London – I only found out when I saw the paper. Because she’s in Los Angeles, I don’t really talk to her.”
