Robert Pattinson Wants to Play Sex Obsessed Music Industry Figure

Robert Pattinson wants to play a sex and drug obsessed music industry figure in a new movie.

The ‘Twilight’ star has his sights set on playing fictional record label A&R (Artist and Repertoire) man Steven Stelfox in the big screen adaptation of novel ‘Kill Your Friends’ – written by former real life A&R man John Niven.

In the book, Stelfox is working for a label in London in 1997 looking for new bands and pop stars to sign while at the same time fueling his hedonistic lifestyle with cocaine and prostitutes.

A source told The Sun newspaper, “Rob is a huge fan of the novel. He is fascinated by the music industry and is keen to get involved in the project. He’s already approached producers telling them he wants to play the leading man. If he gets the role it will be the darkest part he’s ever played.

“It’s an incredibly adult character and is bound to shock his fan base.”

Pattinson is not the only star trying to secure a role in the movie.

Drum ‘n’ bass artist Goldie, who is parodied by Niven in the tome, has also asked bosses for a part.

If Pattinson does land the lead it will be his latest attempt to move away from the role of vampire Edward Cullen which catapulted him to fame in the ‘Twilight’ movies.

The 24-year-old actor played a tormented student who rebels against his father in ‘Remember Me’, and he shared a number of raunchy sex scenes with his co-star Emilie de Ravin in the movie.

Antonio Banderas Happy For Teenage Daughter’s Dating

Antonio Banderas hopes his daughter will have her heart broken.

The Spanish actor – who has a teenage daughter, Stella, with his wife of 15 years Melanie Griffith – is happy to be a protective father from a distance because he believes personal pain can only make you wiser.

He said, “My daughter, at 13 years old, is way more mature than me. She’s very selective… she knows exactly what she wants. I’m not going to jump in unless there is something that’s going to damage her.

“Her heart is going to be broken sometimes, and she has to learn from those things too. It’s called life… she has to live that herself.”

The 49-year-old star – who also has two stepchildren, Alexander, 24, and 20-year-old Dakota, from his wife’s previous relationships – has a great relationship with all his kids because the family has always made time for each other.

He told People, “I have one date night with my daughter every week. I take her for dinner by herself… and we can talk, spend some time together. We just try to be dynamic in our relationship to the family and it’s fun too.”

Melanie has previously joked her husband is protective of Stella and is ready to scare off potential boyfriends.

She said, “Stella, well, we don’t know where her future lies, and we don’t put any pressure on her to decide. But she’s doing very well at school and has lots of friends and is just discovering boys. And Antonio’s waiting at the door for them with a shotgun!”

Food Network chef arrested in alleged plot to murder wife

Food Network chef Juan Carlos Cruz has been arrested by Los Angeles police after he allegedly made a bizarre attempt to bribe homeless men to murder his wife.

The District Attorney of Los Angeles has charged the Calorie Commando star with murder and solicitation for murder after the plot came to light, and TMZ posted excerpts from a series of text messages between Cruz and the three men:

Cruz texted the men: “Have already been burned with whole bills then no show thats why do it this way.”

He then texted: “Have 2nd party ready 2 take over if u dont want it r u in?”

Cruz also used the phone to set up meets with the men — one text read, “Call me i have a proposal,” another read “Meet me at the spot in a hour,” while another said “Meet at starbucks 10 am to discuss details about wed.”

Cruz is said to have supplied the three men with halves of torn $100 bills as a deposit, withholding the other halves until the murder of Cruz’s wife Jennifer Campbell was complete. He is also alleged to have supplied the three men with box cutters, instructing them to either strangle Campbell or slash her throat. The three men went to a homeless liaison in the area, who contacted police. Law enforcement officials set up a wire to obtain audio detailing the plan.

Cruz was arrested May 13th, and charged this morning. If convicted on charges relating to the attempted murder of his wife, Cruz could face life in prison.

Lindsay Lohan Involved in Nightclub Row

Lindsay Lohan was allegedly involved in a nightclub row.

The actress, who is known for her blazing rows and public spats with ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, is said to have got into an altercation with New York Rangers ice hockey players Aaron Voros and Sean Avery as she partied at 1Oak nightclub for the Wildfox Fall Collection party last Thursday, May 13.

The 23-year-old star reportedly threw her drink over Aaron’s model girlfriend Jessica Stam before trying to get them ejected from the club.

A source told the New York Post newspaper, “Lindsay threw a fit because she wanted to be at their table near the DJ. But she claimed she didn’t want to sit with Aaron and said, ‘He’s my ex-boyfriend. I don’t want him anywhere near me.’

“A drink then flew in Jessica’s face, and Lindsay demanded their table be moved out. Club bosses refused and tried to calm her down. Stam, Voros and Avery were shocked but didn’t retaliate, and Lindsay left shortly afterwards.”

Another source claimed the troubled star, who was recently banned from the Trousdale club in Los Angeles for throwing a glass at Samantha, threw a fit for “absolutely no reason.”

Aaron has since denied even knowing the actress.

Claudia Schiffer Enjoys Stripping Off

Claudia Schiffer enjoys stripping off for the camera.

The German supermodel, who gave birth to her third child with British film director Matthew Vaughn on Friday, May 14, is happy to bare all because she feels more confident now she’s an older woman.

The 39-year-old, who appears nude and pregnant on the June 2010 cover of German Vogue said, “I’m a lot more self-confident than I used to be. To some extent I owe that to my children and my husband. I know what I’m doing and what I want. I have control over myself and that feels good.

“I’ve never hidden the fact that I used to be shy, even when I was 30. However, I might have been self-conscious on the inside, but I was never inhibited about my body. I never had a problem with stripping in front of the camera. Maybe that’s because of how I grew up. Back home we never used to knock at the bathroom door. No, I’ve never been prudish.”

Claudia hopes her children, son Caspar, seven, daughter Clementine, five, and her as-yet unnamed newborn, will grow up seeing her modeling work and be proud of her willingness to bare her body.

She said in an interview with German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, “Caspar goes to school and his mum goes to photo shoots. If he sees the Vogue he will probably think ‘Oh, look at mummy. You can still see her big tummy with the baby inside.’

“My daughter Clemmie is more interested in this whole stuff, the new bags and couture dresses that arrive for fittings or the new make-up. She wants to try it all.”

Simon Cowell to Receive Knighthood

Simon Cowell is to receive a knighthood.

The music mogul will reportedly be given the title, which will make him Sir Simon Cowell, by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth in her birthday honors list next month after being recommended by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown for his charity work, in particular his efforts with the chart-topping single ‘Everybody Hurts’, which raised money to help victims of the Haiti earthquake.

A source said, “Gordon Brown was very keen for Simon to get proper recognition for his work.

“He was particularly impressed by the way Simon responded to his suggestion to release the record for Haiti by dropping everything to ensure it was a success.

“And there’s no doubt Simon has brought as great deal of happiness to millions of people with his music and TV shows.

Close friends of Simon, whose TV shows are shown in 27 countries, believe he “deserves” the honor because of the good work he does to help others.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper, “It would be an absolutely huge achievement and a wonderful tribute to all he’s achieved professionally.

“Simon deserves the honor because he does so much work behind the scenes for charity and publicly supports good causes.

“He has also generated millions in the music and entertainment industries, created thousands of jobs and helped make Sony a multinational conglomerate.”

However, the news is likely to come as a shock to 50-year-old Simon, who has previously said his chances of being knighted are “below zero”.

The source added, “Simon has always joked he’d be last in line for a knighthood. But, deep down, it’s his dream.”

Other entertainment stars to have previously been knighted by the queen include Sir Michael Caine, Sir Mick Jagger and Sir Paul McCartney.

Oliver Stone Sparkled Shia LeBeouf and Carrey Mulligan’s Romance

Oliver Stone is “thrilled” about Shia LeBeouf and Carey Mulligan’s romance.

The couple met on the set of the director’s new film ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ and has joked they have him to thank for their romance.

He said, “It was all thanks to me! I was thrilled when I realized they were going to be an item. It just made their scenes together all the better – especially the love scenes. Let’s just say it was no stretch for them!”

Shia and Carey, who were first linked in August last year, didn’t let their blossoming romance distract them from the task of reviving the themes first depicted in 80s Hollywood classic ‘Wall Street’ for the sequel.

Stone said, “They were completely professional on the set, but there was no mistaking what was happening. You could see their chemistry right away, and it was pretty powerful.”

The acclaimed filmmaker spoke about Shia and Carey’s relationship at a Cannes party on Friday, May 14, where the couple were reportedly inseparable as they partied with Michael Douglas and Josh Brolin, who also star in the highly anticipated movie sequel.

Shia and his new girlfriend have so far kept quiet about their relationship, though the ‘Transformers’ hunk has said, “It works out. It’s not like we’re the premiere couple – we’re not the red carpet king and queen.”

‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ will get its cinema release in September.

Hugh Grant’s Bedroom at Liz Hurley’s House

Hugh Grant has a bedroom at his ex-girlfriend’s house.

The ‘Notting Hill’ star has remained close to Elizabeth Hurley, who is now married to textile heir Arun Nayar and has an eight-year-old son Damian from a previous relationship, since their 13-year romance ended in 2000 and even holidays with the actress and her family.

Elizabeth said, “My overall best friend is Hugh. My ‘current affairs’ best friend is Arun, because we speak to each other all day, every day. “My sister Katie is my loyal best friend. But there is a part of my life neither Arun nor Katie understand; a career part and a different emotional level where Hugh is still my number one. We’ve been best friends for 24 years and that’s not nothing.

“Hugh virtually has a bedroom at our house and we’re still neighbors in London. And he’s an excellent godfather to Damian.

“He’s a part of our family – we all go on holiday together and Arun and Hugh get on incredibly well. We’re all grown up, and if I wanted to be with Hugh, we would be together.”

The 44-year-old brunette beauty also revealed she and Arun have been trying for a baby but won’t be unhappy if they are not able to conceive.

She told Zest magazine, “We haven’t had any luck so far. Arun would love another one. Damian does not want another one. And I think it would be great if one came along. But we’re grateful for what we’ve got.”

The ‘Bedazzled’ star praised Arun for being a “full father figure” to Damian, whose natural father is Steve Bing, but admitted the youngster sometimes gets confused about their relationship.

She said, “Damian calls him daddy. He knows he’s not his blood father.

“He’ll sometimes forget, though, and say, ‘Tell me again why dad’s brown and we’re so white.’ And I’ll say, ‘He’s not blood, remember.’ And he’ll say, ‘Yes, I knew that.’ ”

Cate Blanchett Wants Mystery

Cate Blanchett wishes she had a bit more mystery about her.

The ‘Robin Hood’ actress worries she has exposed too much of her personal life, meaning audiences have trouble distinguishing between her and her characters and would rather be known just for her work.

The mother-of-three told parade.com, “Personally, I’d love to turn into a chameleon. I love watching performances that aren’t hampered by all that personal baggage from real life. That’s why I wonder if I’ve exposed too much of Cate Blanchett instead of the women I’ve played. It’s nice to talk about being a mother, my wonderful husband and blah, blah, blah. But at the end of the day I’d rather people focus on my work. I couldn’t be what I call one of those ‘personality performers’ who expect you to see them and not a character on the screen.”

The Oscar-winning beauty also admits she finds it “excruciating” to watch herself in films.

She said, “I find it excruciating to watch myself. It’s sort of akin to watching your home videos, but doing it in public. There’s always a moment where you feel like you’ve got your pants around your ankles. I guess it’s the desire to become better that keeps one going.”

Sarah Jessica Parker Won’t Tell Son About Her Surrogate Pregnancy

Sarah Jessica Parker didn’t tell her son she was having twins via a surrogate so he wouldn’t have the “burden” of keeping a secret.

The ‘Sex and the City’ actress and husband Matthew Broderick welcomed daughters Marion and Tabitha last June but had to keep the news of the pregnancy a secret for long time, which included not saying anything to seven-year-old James Wilkie.

She said, “We couldn’t talk about the fact that we were having children with anybody outside of us for ages. I had to be very careful about telling James so that he wasn’t burdened with a secret — and, more importantly, I wanted him to be able to have time to adjust to sharing his mama and papa.”

Sarah and Matthew used a surrogate mother as they struggled to conceive naturally again and the 45-year-old star admits she it was hard missing out on carrying the babies herself.

She told Style magazine, “I would give birth as often as I could; I loved all the aspects of my pregnancy with our son, the good and the bad.”

She has previously spoken of how time “stood still” when she met her daughters for the first time.

She said, “Meeting your children, rather than giving birth to them, felt kind of like suspended animation. The day I met them, I just remember their little faces, and my husband’s face and my son’s. It felt like time had stood still.”
