Star Magazine published a story claiming that the allegedly amicable breakup of Al and Tipper Gore’s 40 year marriage actually came due to a lengthy affair between Al Gore and Larry David’s wife, Laurie David.

Laurie David co-produced Gore’s documentary An Inconvenient Truth, and the magazine quotes an unnamed source as saying the supposed long-term affair was “inevitable”:

“Al and Laurie went from friends to lovers,” an insider tells Star. “It couldn’t be avoided.”

Friends of the Gores said the report was laughable and David released a statement denying claims that she’d ever been involved with the former Vice President:

“The story is completely untrue,” Laurie David said in a statement.

“It’s a total fabrication. I adore both Al and Tipper. I look at them both as family. And I have happily been in a serious relationship since my divorce.”

Reps for the Gores have declined comment on any possible causes for the split. The report isn’t the only one floating around about the surprising break up- Globe said the Gores separated because Al was “gay.”

Simon Cowell will be a “great and loving” husband.

The music mogul got engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy earlier this year and close pal Paula Abdul, who worked with the 50-year-old star on the judging panel of ‘American Idol’ – admits she is not surprised he has finally decided to settle down.

She said, “I know Simon so well and honest to God, I think he’s at that stage in his life where he’s a grown-up Simon now, making him a great and loving husband. But he still has that little bad boy in him.”

Although Paula thinks Simon is at the right stage in his life to marry, she admits she was astonished when she first learned he and the ‘American Idol’ make-up artist – who he has been dating for just under a year – were planning to tie the knot.

She added to People magazine, “It took me about 12 days to take my jaw off the ground and put it back up.

“But Mezhgan is a lovely girl and I’ve known her for a long time. They make a great couple and I’m happy for them.”

Despite knowing Simon is smitten with his fiancee, Paula admits he rarely speaks about her.

She added, “That would be an alter ego of Simon to gush about her. That is not part of his DNA.

“However, I know that he’s in a happy place so that makes me happy. He would never gush about anyone unless it was about himself and that’s why we love Simon.”

Man people can get upset by the strangest things but then I say that not having heard these vuvuzela things that everyone is complaining about. From what I have read though, there has been talk about trying to ban them from any of the World Cup matches because the people not blowing them are getting a real hate on for those that are.

Thankfully the good folks at Boing Boing have tracked down someone who can explain why these things are so annoying. As Trevor Cox, president of the UK Institute of Acoustic, told New Scientist:

The vuvuzela is like a straightened trumpet and is played by blowing a raspberry into the mouthpiece. The player’s lips open and close about 235 times a second, sending puffs of air down the tube, which excite resonance of the air in the conical bore. A single vuvuzela played by a decent trumpeter is reminiscent of a hunting horn – but the sound is less pleasing when played by the average football fan, as the note is imperfect and fluctuates in frequency. It sounds more like an elephant trumpeting. This happens because the player does not keep the airflow and motion of the lips consistent.

So there you have it folks, the reason why you hate the vuvuzela so much. Feel better?

Kristen Stewart thinks she needs a “face transplant” to look happier when she meets fans.

The ‘Twilight Saga’ actress, who admits she finds fame difficult and is often criticized for looking sullen in public, tries hard to “smile” and look happy when she’s approached by strangers, but can never relax fully.

She said, “I totally am more comfortable now. I try not to have that thing that people have which is like a celebrity skin and I think that’s maybe where I run into problems.

“I have had so many people say, ‘Why don’t you just play the part? Just like, go smile, talk about whatever they want you to talk about.’ It’s like, ‘I do, I really try to do that.’ I guess I should get a face transplant or something… But it’s gotten weird. I’ve like, relinquished control.”

Despite trying hard to relax, the 20-year-old star doesn’t plan to alter her persona for others.

She explained to US TV show ‘Access Hollywood’, “People are much better at doing this than I am and that’s fine and I’m getting better and whatever, but I’m not gonna try to force myself to do anything.”

Since her rise to fame as Bella Swan in the vampire franchise, Kristen has kept relatively quiet about her personal life, including rumours she is dating her co-star Robert Pattinson.

The ‘Runaways’ actress deliberately avoids social networking websites like twitter, which are often updated with reports on her whereabouts.

She added, “I’m not a huge fan. I just wouldn’t have one.

“I’m gonna start walking around with a squirt gun. And just be like, ‘No, it’s cool.’ I’m not trying, I mean, just to… like squirt their phones… Yeah, twitter’s kind of crazy.”

Robbie Williams’ fiancee has temporarily moved out of their Los Angeles home.

Actress Ayda Field has become increasingly fed-up with the ‘Angels’ singer constantly watching the soccer World Cup – which kicked-off last Friday, June 11, in South Africa – so has moved into her mother’s house to escape the sport.

A source said, “Robbie’s wife-to-be decided she could not take any more after three days of soccer. So she has moved out of his mansion and gone back to live with her mum until the World Cup is over.

“Ayda said she just has to get some peace.”

Until the end of next week, games are played every day and Ayda has said she may return when the tournament goes into the knockout stages when matches are played more sporadically.

The source added to The Sun newspaper, “Normally nothing could keep her and Robbie apart, but she has decided to pamper herself with spa treatments.

“She will be back when Robbie eases up on the amount of matches he is watching. She doesn’t understand soccer and has absolutely no interest in it. She is already bored stupid.”

For the second time in 2010, a car owned by Charlie Sheen has apparently been jacked and sent off a cliff.

Sheen, who is due in court for sentencing July 12th for a domestic dispute, was not aware his car had been taken until police contacted him with news that the vehicle had been driven off a cliff. The incident occurred at around 2:53 am, and Sheen last reported seeing the car at around 4pm. TMZ reports that Sheen’s car might not have been that difficult to steal:

We’re told Charlie left his keys in the car, which was parked in his driveway in a gated community.  He did the exact same thing 4 months ago when his car was stolen and ditched on Mulholland Drive — about a mile from where his car was ditched today.

As the quote indicates, a strangely similar theft involving a car of Charlie Sheen’s happened back on February 5th. Less than a mile from where Sheen’s car was ditched early this morning, unidentified parties drove a different car belonging to the actor over the side of a cliff. Police say the latest incident is “suspicious.”

Megan Fox expects to marry her boyfriend Brian Austin Green.

The ‘Jonah Hex’ actress, who has been dating her ‘Smallville’ star fiance since 2004, admits she wouldn’t be surprised if they tied the knot in the future because they are settled in their relationship and she loves him greatly.

She said, “I’ve been in this relationship for so long and I love Brian so much and of course marriage is in the future somewhere… I’m not closed to that idea.”

The 24-year-old beauty doesn’t mind speaking about her romantic feelings for Brian, 36, because she believes it’s important to tell the world when you decide to commit to one person.

She explained, “I just think, if you’re going to get married, if you’re going to be with someone and make a commitment, it’s good to tell the universe, to say, ‘I’m committing to this person and making them my family.’

“I think there’s something respectable about that and if we were to do it, it would be for ourselves. It wouldn’t’ be for society.”

Megan also believes it’s important to be able to speak honestly about her emotions – even though this can sometimes get her in trouble.

She added in an interview with US TV show ‘Access Hollywood’, “I can be blunt or I can be honest… where I’ve gotten in trouble is when I’m being sarcastic or I’m trying to be funny. It’s so easy for people to take that and turn it into a literal statement and then make it into a big scandalous news story.

“But there’s no regrets because you learn from everything. I just wish that it was easier for all of us in this industry to be ourselves.”

Earlier this year, Megan and Brian revealed they were engaged again following a brief split last year, when it was claimed they wanted to take time out to focus on their careers.

The ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the hit movie franchise, admits he is astonished at how quickly his supporters find out his plans and post the information on the internet, but admits he can use it to his advantage.

He said, “It’s kind of incredible the information they get so quickly. Sometimes I’ll check them to see what my schedule is on stuff, especially on the weekend when I can’t get through to my agency, or even to see my emails sometimes.

“It’s strange being in ‘Twilight’ because so much of the fan base is being on the internet and having a community with each other.”

Although the 24-year-old star feels there is a particular devotion to the ‘Twilight Saga’, he is aware that his appearance in the movies generates interest in his other work, even if it is just to boast to fellow fans of the vampire franchise.

He explained, “You see people turn up on sets of other movies I’ve done and take a picture. You know the main reason is so they can have a thing within their online community and you know it’s going to be up within five seconds. It’s strange.”

Heidi Montag has allegedly hired a private investigator to find out whether her husband has been cheating on her.

The reality TV star is reportedly concerned her estranged spouse Spencer Pratt, who she split from in May, has been romancing other women.

An insider told RadarOnline.com, “She is very anxious to find out if her suspicions and the rumours are true, especially if he’s spent any money on another woman.

“Heidi has hired a former member of the sheriff department, who now works as a private investigator, to look into it. It is really important to Heidi to find out if Spencer has been cheating on her.”

Heidi isn’t the only one with a suspicious mind.

Spencer allegedly believes his wife, who filed for a legal separation last week – is now seeing Marine-turned-bodyguard Cougar Zank, after he invited the 23-year-old blonde beauty to stay with him at his Malibu home following the couple’s break-up.

The source said, “They are definitely friends, and I don’t know if there is anything more to it than that, but Spencer believes there is. He’s certain there is.”

Peter Andre’s marriage was “weird”.

The Australian singer, who married glamour model Katie Price in September 2005 after meeting on UK reality TV show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in January 2004, is astonished by how quickly their relationship progressed.

Peter, who split from Katie last May said, “You know, the whole situation was weird. The whole relationship was so quick and so fast and when I look back on it… It wasn’t a natural process.

“The normal way is that you live with someone first, get to know them, court them for a while. It was a very different thing to that. And I can’t say it was all bad because we had some good times together.”

The ‘Behind Closed Doors’ hitmaker also admitted Katie banned him from having a bachelor party before they married, but he is now planning an all-male holiday to make up for it later this year.

He said, “I wasn’t allowed a bachelor party! I never had one. I was told if I was even so much as pictured with another girl – even if she was just a fan or whatever – the wedding would be off. So I chose the wedding.

“When you’re in love, you just go along with stuff, don’t you?

“I’m actually thinking of going away with a few mates to the States later this year to have the stag do I never had. And then I don’t have to worry who I get pictured with.”

Peter is currently single but admits he would think twice about dating anyone who wanted to control his actions in the future.

He added in an interview with New! magazine, “I would foresee problems if someone was like that with me now.”
