Gwyneth Paltrow secretly suffered from a bone disorder.

The ‘Iron Man 2’ actress was diagnosed with the onset of osteopenia, a condition where bone mineral density is lower than normal, and was ordered by doctors to spend more time in the sun to boost her vitamin D levels.

She said, “I suffered a pretty severe Tibial plateau fracture a few years ago (requiring surgery) which lead the orthopaedic surgeon to give me a bone scan, at which point it was discovered I had the beginning stages of osteopenia.

“This led my western/eastern doctors in New York to test my Vitamin D levels, which turned out to be the lowest they had ever seen, not a good thing. I went on a prescription strength level of Vitamin D and was told to… spend a bit of time in the sun!”

Gwyneth – who has two children, daughter Apple, six, and four-year-old son Moses, with husband Chris Martin – admits the advice left her “confused” as she had always been told to stay out of the sun.

She added in her GOOP newsletter, “I was curious if this was safe, having been told for years to stay away from its dangerous rays, not to mention a tad bit confused.”

However, after following the doctor’s advice, the 37-year-old blonde beauty managed to reverse her Vitamin D deficiency.

French model Tom Nicon, 22, was reportedly found dead in Milan this morning after a fall from his apartment window.

Nicon’s agency has declined comment on the incident, and Nicon’s death comes just one day ahead of Milan Men’s Fashion Week. In the absence of official confirmation about the details of Nicon’s death, the blog Issac Likes spoke with an unnamed friend of the model:

“He did the Versace fitting this morning. After that he was supposed to go to his agency but he never arrived. I don’t know if it was suicide or if he fell.”

Another runway model, also unnamed, speculated about Nicon’s death to Issac Likes:

“People think we are young and beautiful and rich and happy. But we’re not. We go to castings and the directors take one look at us and then we’re dismissed. You spend your whole life wondering what’s wrong with you. Why didn’t I get that job? You’re competing with your friends, you’re away from your family. The pressure is huge. It’s not the fairytale life people would expect.”

During his career, Nicon worked for Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Kenzo, Costume National, Gareth Pugh, and Hugo Boss. Models Daul Kim and Ambrose Olsen also died unexpectedly within the past year, at the ages of 20 and 24 respectively.

America Ferrera has got engaged to her boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams.

The ‘Ugly Betty’ star’s spokesperson confirmed the news after America was seen wearing a ring on her engagement finger at the Edinburgh Film Festival on Wednesday, June 16.

The actress has been living with Ryan, who is a film director and is currently working with producer Steven Soderbergh, for three years. They met at the University of Southern California when he cast America in one of his films.

The pair, who own a pet golden retriever dog called Buddy, were previously the subject of engagement rumours in 2007.

At the time, the 26-year-old star denied they were getting hitched.

She said, “It’s totally not true! His mom called me and my sisters were calling me, and I was like, ‘Are you kidding? Did you not think I would tell you first?’ And then I put out a statement that it wasn’t true, and that became a whole news story. So now it’s news when something doesn’t happen? Like, news flash: California did not get hit by a hurricane today.”

TV network ABC canceled America’s TV show ‘Ugly Betty’ after ratings started to drop on the series which ran for three years.

Cameron Diaz would travel anywhere for sex.

The 37-year-old actress, who has enjoyed a string of high-profile romances with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Matt Dillon and Jared Leto, admitted her lifestyle means she has to get on a plane if she wants intimate action with a lover.

Speaking at the Spanish premiere of her new film ‘Knight and Day’, she revealed, “I can’t even count how many times I’ve gotten on a plane for love.

“It’s not unusual in this business – my lifestyle demands it. I’m always travelling for c**k. You’ve got to go where it is.”

Stella McCartney is pregnant with her fourth child.

The fashion designer and her husband Alasdhair Willis – who already have two sons, Miller, five, and Beckett, two, and a daughter, three-year-old Bailey – is expecting her fourth child, due to be born later this year.

A source close to Stella, the daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and the late Linda McCartney – told the Daily Mail newspaper, “Stella loves the idea of having a close-knit family, just like the one she grew up in.

“She’s a great mum. She has been telling all her friends the good news.”

Just recently Stella – who has three sisters, Heather, Mary and Beatrice, and a brother, James – revealed she was looking forward to some time off from being pregnant, but confessed she was thinking about extending her family.

She said, “I’m kind of interested in having more children. Though right now I feel like I’ve only just stopped having them, so I’m ready to have a bit of a break first.”

This is the second bit of good news for the McCartney family, with Stella’s sister Mary getting married last Saturday, June 12.

Her new husband Simon Aboud posted a picture of both of them on twitter with the caption, “We got married on Saturday. Marylebone Registry, just us and the kids, the rings driven up the aisle to us by one of the boys on a remote control dune buggy. Lovely day.”

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen are “taking a break”.

The couple, who announced their engagement in February 2009 after over a year of dating, are planning to separate for a short period before reassessing their feelings for one another.

A source said, “They are taking about a month off and will then revisit their relationship to decide if they should stay together.”

The 28-year-old actress confirmed the split on Wednesday, June 16, when she showed up to the Take No Prisoners event in Los Angeles, which she co-hosted, without her engagement ring.

When asked how the wedding plans were going, she pointed to her left hand and told Us Weekly magazine, “No, no plans. No nothing.”

The couple, who met on the set of the movie ‘Jumper’ – are believed to have broken up two weeks ago.

Rachel has previously spoken of her desire to have children with 29-year-old Hayden.

She said, “I don’t need to get married right now. I am more ready for a baby than marriage. Not really tomorrow, but definitely in the next couple of years which is the pretty near future. You have to have the guy, you know?”

When asked if she had found the future father of her children, Rachel replied, “I am happy where I am.”

Poor Lindsay Lohan.

In becoming an unwitting poster child for downward spirals of shame, stories have abounded on gossip blogs and in celebrity news about Lohan’s seemingly never-ending series of public embarrassments. The latest schadenfraude in the Lohan saga involves a Carvel “black card” for free ice cream, a police fracas at one of the ice cream retailers locations and a truly sad press release issued by the company about the Lohan family’s “abuse” of the privilege. Having your card declined is one thing, having your free ice cream card snipped in half at the checkout is infinitely more mortifying.

Carvel must feel that Lohan is an acceptable target at this point, because the following “news release” was posted to their press relations page:

ATLANTA, GA (June 17, 2010) – As part of Carvel’s 75th Anniversary celebration last year, we issued 75 Black Cards to celebrities.  These cards were issued in the celebrity’s name and require the card holder to be present at the time of use. Many celebrities have enjoyed their cards at our Carvel Ice Cream shoppes and have shared their excitement with being included in the celebration.

Unfortunately, the Lohan family has been abusing the card.   While the card was issued in Lindsay and Ali’s names only, their extended family has repeatedly used the card without either present.   At first, we graciously honored their requests while explaining that the Black Card was not a carte blanche for unlimited Carvel Ice Cream for the extended Lohan family and friends.  After more than six months of numerous and large orders for ice cream, we finally had to cut off the card and take it back.

Dina Lohan reacted badly and called the police to have her card returned.  The police responded and did return the card to Dina with instructions not to use it again.

This is an unfortunate situation where certain people feel entitled to use a celebrity’s name for their own purposes.  We regret that the Lohan family is upset and hope this matter is put behind us quickly.

Emma Watson threw a farewell party for the ‘Harry Potter’ cast.

The 20-year-old actress, who portrays brainbox witch Hermione Grainger in the wizarding franchise, hosted a dinner at her British home to mark the final week of shooting last movies ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts I and II’, but guests are remaining tight-lipped on the secrets they revealed as they reminisced.

James Phelps – who plays Fred Weasley in the movies – told People magazine, “The last week of filming Emma had a dinner at her place, and we spoke about the best moments of filming, our secret crushes on set – all kinds of random questions.

“But all the answers to these questions will stay in that room!”

Although the cast are sad to be saying goodbye to the franchise, they are left with a permanent reminder of the series with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park opening at Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida.

Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, joked about the park, “If I ever get a bit homesick, I have somewhere to come now. It’s incredible.”

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the titular boy wizard, and Emma recently spoke of their sadness at the ending of the series.

Speaking before they finished filming, Daniel said, “I will be devastated when it’s over. There is nothing I watch without it triggering a series of memories. Everything about the films is so linked to my life. At the same time, it is exciting. It is the end.”

Emma added, “I feel like someone is dying. This kind of love and recognition is just incredible. It is also really emotional for me. I am proud.”

Ashton Kutcher had his credit card denied at the cinema.

The ‘Killers’ star and his wife Demi Moore were at the ArcLight cinema in Los Angeles to see Russell Brand’s latest comedy ‘Get Him to the Greek’ on Sunday, June 13, but the actor was reportedly left red-faced when payment was declined as he tried to buy popcorn and drinks.

However, the problem left the pair with free snacks as the manager recognized the showbiz couple.

A source at cinema told In Touch Weekly magazine, “The manager rushed over, apologized and gave them everything for free.

“Ashton didn’t seem embarrassed at all. They just laughed it off.”

The 32-year-old actor recently confessed he was something of a “late bloomer” to the marriage scene because where he is from many people get wed at an early age.

He said, “I’m from Iowa. People from Iowa get married when they’re like 20, so I was kind of a late bloomer.”

He has previously admitted his relationship with Demi made him stop being a womanizer.

He said, “We met through a mutual friend. She thought I was a douche bag. I had just gotten out of the shower and walked in the room with no shirt on.

“I was out of control with women. I was very abusive with women, but like every girl they always think that, ‘I will be the one to change him.’ I seduced women. That was my move. I was a womanizer. I wasn’t marriage material. I had to prove to her that I was serious. I hung in there telling myself this is the woman I want to be with.”
