Dennis Hopper’s funeral is to take place today, June 2.

The 74-year-old actor, who lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, May 29, will be lade to rest in Taos, New Mexico, the town where he wrote, filmed and edited his legendary movie ‘Easy Rider’.

Family and friends are flying out on two private planes from Los Angeles for the memorial service.

Local residents say the actor made a secret visit to Taos just a few months ago, accompanied by his older children.

Bonnie McManus, from the Mable Dodge Luhan House, said, “He was dressed really nice and looked like an English gentleman with his long coat and his hat, but he was so frail and thin.

“You knew it was his last goodbye to the house.”

Earlier this week, Taos Governor Bill Richardson paid tribute to the late Hollywood icon.

He said, “The actor will be remembered by many including myself, as an icon whose impact on the film industry cannot be measured.”

Leona Lewis fell down a lift shaft on stage.

The ‘Bleeding Love’ star had to be rescued after narrowly avoiding serious injury while performing in Sheffield, north England last Friday, May 28, when she tumbled down a dark hole after her elevator got stuck.

She said, “We have been having problems with the lift. It had been going fine in rehearsals and then I had a bit of an accident and fell down the lift shaft. It was quite scary.

“I was lucky not to get injured. Fortunately it happened during a blackout on set and didn’t affect the show and none of the audience saw anything. I got a shock and had to be rescued.”

However Leona, who also saw one of her elaborate stage platforms jam at the following night’s show, refused to let the setback affect her performance.

She added, “I had to just get back up and carry on.”

While Leona was lucky to be unhurt on stage, the animal-loving star has previously suffered facial injuries after being headbutted by her horse.

A source said at the time, “Leona has been riding since she was a child and has never had a fear of horses. So she was really shaken up when the horse turned on her. Something startled the horse and it flicked its head back and smacked Leona full in the face.

“She was knocked flying by the force of it. Thankfully, she didn’t need any surgery but was told to stay at home and rest just in case she passed out with concussion.”

Khloe Kardashian is reportedly pregnant.

The reality TV star, who married Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom in September 2009 after just one month of dating, is said to be two months into her first pregnancy after being inspired to start a family by her sister Kourtney Kardashian, who has a five-month-old son Mason with boyfriend Scott Disick.

A source close to the Kardashian family revealed, “Khloe was inspired by Kourtney having a baby. Lamar is happy and ecstatic about having a baby with Khloe.”

It is believed the 25-year-old socialite’s pregnancy will be formally announced on her show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, but according to the insider, the basketball player is concerned about his child’s life being played out on television.

The source added to RadarOnline,, “They’re really happy, but Lamar is a little weary of exposing his baby on TV. He already doesn’t like his life being played out for everyone to see eight months of the year.”

Khloe has previously spoken about her and Lamar’s plans to have children together, admitting in January that they had stopped using contraception.

She said, “I’m not rushing it, but I’m also not doing anything to prevent it. We both want to have children together and I think we’re in an ideal situation. We’re just happy together.

“Lamar wants to start having children tomorrow. He already has two beautiful children, Destiny and Lamar Jr., but he can’t wait for me to have kids and form this new family. I know how happy he would be, and I’d love to have kids. But ideally I want to wait at least until we’ve settled into our new house.”

A source told The Sun newspaper, “Amy really likes Reg. They’ve been seeing each other for a good few weeks now. He’s a decent guy with his feet firmly on the ground. He’s cultured and talented and they talk and laugh about all sorts. And they’re openly affectionate in front of friends and family now too.”

News of Amy’s new romance comes just weeks after she split from Blake Fielder-Civil, her ex-husband who she had reunited with at the beginning of this year.

One fan of the 26-year-old singer’s new romance is her father Mitch Winehouse, who has previously blamed Blake for her drug addiction struggles.

Speaking about Reg, Mitch said, “I’m happy she’s got a new boyfriend. I’m happy she’s moving on with her life. He’s a normal guy, very nice.”

Amy recently splashed out on a $3.7 million home in Camden, north London, to live in with Blake once the conditions of his release from jail allowed him to reside in the English capital again.

However, cracks appeared in their romance over the singer’s “flirtatious” behaviour and Blake was believed to have ordered her to join him in Sheffield, North England, sparking their split.

Jane Lynch has got married.

The 49-year-old actress , who plays cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on US TV show ‘Glee’ – tied the knot with long-term partner Dr. Lara Embry in an intimate ceremony at the Blue Heron restaurant in Massachusetts on Monday, May 31.

The eatery’s manager, Scott Mercure, said, “They were very happy. There was lots of smiling.”

Just 19 guests attended the nuptials and after the 20-minute ceremony, they were treated to a lavish meal which included seabass and duck.

The restaurant’s co-owner Deborah Snow said, “There were no celebrities or recognisable faces there. Lara’s daughter was there, along with close, close friends of the couple. It was small, warm, intimate and very sweet. You could feel the love and friendship amongst the group.”

After the food, the wedding party danced to some “upbeat” music before the reception ended at 10pm.

Jane and Lara announced their engagement in April but said they were yet to start planning their big day.

Jane said, “Yes, yes, it’s true! We don’t have any plans at all yet. But I have a ring and everything. We’re very happy and very excited!”

Lara, who is a psychologist, has two children from a previous relationship to another woman.

Leighton Meester’s mother is the biggest inspiration in her life.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star, who was born in prison and raised by her grandmother while her mother, father and grandfather served a jail term for smuggling marijuana from Jamaica to America, has always had the full backing of her parent, who taught her to stay true to herself.

She explained to Grazia magazine, “My mother Connie inspires me. She’s an amazing woman. When I was a kid I wanted to be an actress and she completely backed me. She is her own person, very eccentric, very individual.”

The 24-year-old star even had Connie’s support when she stopped going to school because she was being bullied.

She said, “I was a bit of a goofball. I wanted to be a counsellor, help people, but then I discovered this other side to people.

“I was easy to pick on because of my acting. I realized that there are a lot of people out there who just aren’t very nice.

“I stopped going to school – I was a bit rebellious and just didn’t go. My mother was fine about it.”

Russell Brand wouldn’t advocate monogamy.

The 34-year-old comedian, who is engaged to Katy Perry, was previously known for his womanizing ways, and though he insists he has settled down, he doesn’t believe a life of domesticity is for everyone.

He said, “Do I advocate monogamy? I mean, personally, my life is different, but I wouldn’t advocate anything.

“I think everyone should just do what’s right for them at that time. For me now, monogamy is what’s happening.”

The ‘Get Him to the Greek’ star also spoke of his excitement at the prospect of starting a family with his fiancee, though he worries fatherhood would change his personality.

He told Britain’s Hello! magazine, “I hope I’d make a good dad. I would like that, although sometimes I worry that if you have children you’ll be compromised in that you might lose your social ethics and become genetically predisposed to protect that child.”

Russell insists he has now curbed his previous wild behaviour, but feels trouble is always “lurking” around him somewhere.

He added, “Trouble is always lurking. You just take one day at a time. There’ll always be something, stuff will happen.

“Before I was so complicit in its manufacture. Now, at least, I’m not creating it directly. I feel that if you want to change things, if you want to do things that are innovative, then you will create friction, and I do want to do that.

“I must accept the inevitable consequences of that, so I know there’ll be more.”

Lady Gaga is taking special care of herself to stop her getting lupus.

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer is not currently unwell with the disease, which can cause severe skin damage as well as harming many of the body’s organs, but is forced to pay special attention to her health to prevent her from falling ill.

She said, “Lupus is in my family, it’s genetic. It’s funny because my mother told me the other day that my fans are worried because I did talk about the fact that I was tested for lupus. The truth is I don’t have any signs or symptoms of lupus but I have tested borderline positive for the disease. As of right now, I do not have it, but I have to take good care of myself.”

The 24-year-old singer recently underwent a series of medical tests after her aunt died from the disease.

While she is trying hard to look after her health, the pop star is also busy campaigning to stop young homosexual people in America being judged by their sexuality.

She told chat show host Larry King, “There’s so many archaic things floating around in the government right now that are so misinformed and so wrong. It’s very confusing. It’s very confusing for young people, especially 14 year olds in high school who are getting sent home because they have T-shirts that have “gay” on it, as if gay is a curse word or somehow inappropriate. I just think that in terms of education – sexual education, political education and social education – in schools, I think it’s important to be specific about civil rights and a person’s worth. No person is worth any less than another human being based on their sexual orientation.”

Kristen Stewart thinks she’s lucky not to be like Lindsay Lohan.

The ‘Twilight Saga’ actress is pleased to have had the support of her family during her rise to fame, and admits it is easy for young stars to lose their way in life.

She said, “My family are amazing. I had, like, the perfect upbringing. It sucks for people like Lindsay Lohan, but it’s not her fault that she’s so off the rails – and she’s smart, very smart.”

‘Mean Girls’ actress Lindsay, 23, has had a turbulent few years as she battled problems with drink and drugs.

Although Kristen is thrilled she has remained level-headed, she hates the intrusion into her life and believes it is similar to “rape”.

She told Britain’s Elle magazine, “What you don’t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction. The photos are so… I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can’t handle it.”

Since she first appeared in the ‘Twilight’ movies, Kristen and her hunky co-star Robert Pattinson have been continually questioned about the status of their relationship.

However, the 20-year-old starlet has vowed to remain secretive on the subject.

She added, “What I say is that why would I want anything that’s private to become entertainment for other people?”

Katherine Heigl is planning to have another baby.

The ‘Killers’ actress, who already raises nine-month-old adopted daughter Naleigh with her husband Josh Kelley, admits they are thinking about extending their brood further and hope to have another child in the near future.

Katherine revealed, “We would like to have a second child – adopted or biological. We’re not ruling it out.”

The 31-year-old beauty has been inspired to raise a second child by the recent earthquakes in the Caribbean nation Haiti, where the area suffered mass devastation and thousands of children lost their parents.

She told Germany’s Gala magazine, “Just look at Haiti. They’re so many parentless children. It breaks my heart. I want to help.”

While Katherine is keen to lend her support to others, Josh believes an addition to their family would provide “a little friend” for their young daughter.

Although they have no specific plans at the moment, Katherine admits anything is possible because she is so spontaneous.

She added, “I often plunge into things and hope everything will be alright.”

Katherine has always been dedicated to motherhood, and even quit her work on medical drama show ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ so she could spend more time with Nayleigh.
