Enrique Iglesias gets sent “disgusting” gifts by his fans.

The ‘Hero’ hitmaker, who has been dating tennis ace Anna Kournikova for years, has revealed some of his admirers have no limits in what they are prepared to do to get his attention.

He said, “A few years ago I got a really strange gift from a fan – it was really disgusting, a used Tampax! That’s the strangest thing!”

Although unusual mail does nothing for him, the 35-year-old singer has revealed what he does find attractive in a woman – independence.

He said, “I think independence in a woman is a great quality. Someone who you know doesn’t necessarily depend on you. I know women or men that need someone to lean on.

“It’s good to be independent and strong.”

However, the chart-topping star, who is the son of iconic crooner Julio Iglesias, couldn’t date girl who hampered his music.

He said, “You need to be with someone who doesn’t get in the way of what you love. If you love your job, someone that doesn’t create any type of barrier between that. That, for me, is a big turn-off.”

Angelina Jolie looks “rough” in her new movie ‘Salt’.

The 35-year-old beauty admits her turn as CIA officer Evelyn Salt is one of the most unglamorous roles she has ever taken on.

She said, “Females in those films rely on being female but we wanted to ignore that – she’s just Salt.

“She doesn’t use her sexuality to get anything. In fact, in many ways it’s the roughest I’ve looked because when you fight it gets ugly and if someone breaks your nose it’s not pretty.”

The part of Evelyn Salt came about as a result of a script change, the role was originally meant to be played by a man, and Angelina admits it was tough to adapt the screenplay to have a woman as the lead character.

She told Total Film magazine, “It was much harder than we thought to switch it from a male to a female because the challenges and surprises or how a man would react to a certain situation are not necessarily the same when it’s a woman.

“For example, the original character was married and he had a child and part of the discovery at the end was that he would find love. But for a woman the discovery of love is not a deep surprise.”

Lindsay Lohan is set to appeal against her prison sentence.

The ‘Mean Girls’ actress, who was given a 90-day jail term on Tuesday, July 6, by Judge Marsha Revel after violating the terms of her probation relating to a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) charge – is “petrified” about spending time behind bars so is considering appealing as she’s been told it will buy her valuable time.

A source told website RadarOnline.com, “Lindsay’s lawyer only has to file a notice of appeal with Judge Marsha Revel, and under terms of California law – particularly misdemeanour probation appeals – the defendant must be granted bail. Judge Revel will be forced to give her bail pending the appeal, and Lindsay wouldn’t even have to appear in front of Judge Revel again.”

“The appeal will take six months to a year to be heard. It’s highly unlikely that Lindsay’s appeal will be successful. However, it will keep her out of jail for at least the next six months to a year.”

Lindsay is due to start her sentence on July 20 and while Judge Revel is legally required to grant her bail if she did appeal, she may tell the troubled star to begin her court-ordered 90-day in-patient rehab programme immediately.

She had initially been ordered to start the treatment within 48 hours of being released from prison.

Lindsay’s mother Dina recently spoke out about her daughter’s punishment and admitted the whole family are struggling to come to terms with it.

Dina said, “Lindsay’s scared to death. It’s very difficult, we’re not sleeping well, we’re not functioning. We cry a lot and we hug a lot. She’s petrified, we all are. We’re angry. We’re disappointed in the system.

“You know, she’s strong, but until someone faces something as devastating as that… we’re going to have to see. God willing, it won’t happen. She’s a fighter, and until the final result – we’re not giving up.”

It had also emerged Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, who has represented the actress since she was first arrested in 2007, has resigned from her case.

Celine Dion is expecting twin boys.

The ‘Think Twice’ singer, who already has a nine-year-old son Rene-Charles with husband Rene Angelil, has confirmed she will be welcoming two more sons into her family later this year.

In a statement on her website, he spokesman said, “Celine first announced the upcoming new additions to the Angelil-Dion family back in May, and now she just revealed that she is expecting twin boys! Congratulations to the happy family!”

The 42-year-old songstress has had an emotional few months as she tried to have more children with her 68-year-old spouse.

Last August the couple announced they were expecting a child following a successful round of IVF, but in November her spokesperson confirmed the pregnancy had failed.

Just weeks ago Celine hinted there was some “good news” to come about a second pregnancy.

She said, “Well we’re crossing our fingers. We’re waiting for good news hopefully. I don’t want to talk about it so much because I’m superstitious, but I know people have been very wonderful for us and praying for us. Right now we are crossing our fingers, we hope for the best and I can’t wait to give people good news.”

The French-Canadian star deliberately didn’t want to release information about her bump until she was sure she was pregnant.

She added, “Once you live in showbusiness and everything spreads out so quick and every pregnancy you have to wait three months to make sure it’s all ok and it’s nerve racking. We’re not getting any younger and you always think it’s your last chance, you’re last try.”

James Cameron didn’t expect the stars of ‘Avatar’ to get Oscar nominations.

The director, who broke box office records when the 3-D sci-fi film went on to take $2.7 billion, was expecting the main actors, including Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver, to be overlooked by the Academy Awards because of the use of computer graphics in the film.

He said, “Typically, young leading men don’t get nominated until the 15th time they’ve done it. Leonardo did not get nominated for ‘Titanic’.

“Was Zoe’s performance spectacular? Absolutely, but there were many great performances last year. But it is arguable that they would have been nominated if you take the computer generated imagery off the table. Put that back on the table – the CGI part of it – and where the acting community is, they are still low down on the educational curve of what this all means.”

However, the 55-year-old filmmaker confesses he would not have made the movie without the use of graphics, as the mythical Na’vi aliens, played by Worthington and Saldana, would not have looked right.

He told Empire magazine, “Here’s the thing, if it had been in live action, Zoe Saldana would have been in blue make-up and it would not have had the power. Her eyes would not have been those eyes.

“The blue make-up would have looked terrible. I know – every time I go to a convention or a place where someone decides they’re going to be a Na’vi, I’m reminded why we did it the way we did.”

Fergie is grateful to be successful and famous.

The Black Eyed Peas singer is very appreciative of the success she has in her life because she can remember what it was like to be broke and homeless and addicted to drugs.

Fergie, who became addicted to methamphetamine, known as ‘crystal meth’, after she left the girl group Wild Orchid in 2001 said,“I had to move back to my mom’s and start collecting unemployment benefit because I had spent all my child actor money – so I have been up and down with money. I appreciate the value of it.”

And Fergie, who is married to actor Josh Duhamel, never gets tired of the trappings of fame and admits she gets excited by the perks which are offered to her.

The 35-year-old pop star added, “Riding in a private jet is very glamorous and I remember the first time we did it. We were so excited because they said whatever we wanted to eat we could order, so we went crazy and ordered lobster, shrimp, crab, rice, steak – it was a huge feast”.
