Lindsay Lohan ‘Petrified’ by Prison

Lindsay Lohan is “petrified” about going to prison.

According to the ‘Mean Girls’ actress’ mother Dina Lohan, the 24-year-old star is “scared to death” about her impending 90-day jail sentence, which she was given on Tuesday, July 6, after violating the terms of her probation relating to a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) charge – and is still hopeful it will be overruled.

Dina said, “Lindsay’s scared to death… It’s very difficult, we’re not sleeping well, we’re not functioning. We cry a lot and we hug a lot. She’s petrified, we all are. We’re angry. We’re disappointed in the system.

“You know, she’s strong, but until someone faces something as devastating as that… we’re going to have to see. God willing, it won’t happen. She’s a fighter, and until the final result – we’re not giving up.”

Following her stay in Los Angeles County Jail, Judge Marsha Revel has also ordered Lindsay to enter a rehabilitation center for 90 days within 48 hours of her release.

However, Dina is adamant Lindsay is “clean and sober” and doesn’t need treatment.

She told upcoming Entertainment Tonight TV show ‘Lindsay Through Her Mother’s Eyes’: “She did a really stupid thing. Thank God she didn’t hurt anyone… I know my daughter is clean and sober today. I know that for a fact. I’m not a doctor… and I’m not an attorney. I’m a mother. And I’m sitting here, as a mother, just worried about my child.”

Meanwhile, it has emerged Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, who has represented the actress since she was first arrested in 2007, has resigned from her case.

The move came shortly after she released a statement yesterday, July 8, admitting she was “disappointed” with the “harsh and unfair” sentence.

Lindsay left her apartment on Thursday afternoon for the first time since being sentenced.

She hid under a black beanie hat as she headed out to do some shopping with Eilat Anschel, who is rumoured to be her new girlfriend.

‘Urkel’ accused of assaulting his baby mother, denies allegations

The actor most famous for his portrayal of Steve Urkel on 90s sitcom Family Matters, Jaleel White, has been accused of assault by the mother of his child.

TMZ reports that White, 33, is said to have “punched” the woman sources identify as Bridget Hardy. White and Hardy have a child together, and the infant was present in the car when the alleged assault occurred. Hardy is said to have reported incident to police Tuesday, and she says that White struck her in “one of her breast implants” while the two were driving down Pacific Coast Highway. The report also states that when the couple returned home, White shoved Hardy with force sufficient to somehow break a toilet tank. Did I do that?

A rep for White denies the allegations completely, and believes Hardy has an ulterior motive in accusing White in the incident:

A rep for Jaleel tells TMZ, “There was absolutely no battery … no abuse … and the incident never happened.”

The rep continues, “This is just a ploy in an ongoing custody battle over their young daughter to tarnish his name.”

Hardy was not injured in either incident.

Victoria Beckham’s Punishment Chair

Victoria Beckham has a “punishment chair” in her house.

The 36-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer – who has three children, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, seven, and Cruz, five, with soccer star David Beckham – is very strict with her kids but has never “physically” punished them for bad behavior.

She is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying, “We watch movies together as a family and invite guests too. We are also very strict about the children doing their homework and going to bed on time.

“Cruz goes to bed at 7pm, Romeo goes at 7.30pm and Brooklyn at 9.30pm. I firmly believe that children need a basic routine.

“We have got a punishment chair – when you’ve done something naughty you are supposed to sit down on it and think over your behaviour. But I have never had to punish them physically.

“I think they are all very clever boys and besides they’ve got very good manners.”

The former Spice Girl also lifted the lid on her relationship with husband David, insisting he is her “best friend”.

She said, “We are as in love, if not more in love than ever. We are best friends. We never put pressure on each other.

“It was our 11th wedding anniversary at the weekend and we celebrated it in style. People assume I don’t drink but I’m only human and I can get p***ed and get hangovers like everybody else. But it was a fabulous party.”

Kylie Minogue Meets Dannii’s Baby on the Internet

Kylie Minogue has met her nephew for the first time over the internet.

The ‘All the Lovers’ singer couldn’t wait until she had finished her European promotional tour for new album ‘Aphrodite’ to meet sister Dannii’s son Ethan – who was born in Melbourne, Australia, on Monday, July 5 – so the siblings took to their laptops and beamed the baby across the web.

And proud Aunt Kylie was delighted with her new nephew.

A source said, “When Kylie saw Ethan she said, ‘He’s gorgeous.’ ”

Dannii has now posted a picture of the baby, her first child with British boyfriend Kris Smith, 31, on twitter so all her fans can meet the new arrival.

She wrote, “Hey everyone thanks for all your wishes, we are loving baby Ethan and Kris is the best dad in the world. X”

Kylie is expected to head home to Australia later this month to meet her nephew in person.

The 41-year-old pop star previously confessed seeing Dannii, 38, pregnant made her broody.

The singer – who is currently dating Spanish model Andres Velencoso – said, “I’m not jealous but it does make me think, ‘Aw, yeah!’ I can’t contain myself.”

Carrie Underwood Set to Wed in a Secret Ceremony

Carrie Underwood is to marry in a secret ceremony tomorrow, July 10.

The country singer, who has been dating Ottawa Senators ice hockey player Mike Fisher since 2008, is said to be keeping the location of the nuptials under wraps from even the guests until the very last minute.

A source revealed to the New York Post newspaper, “Carrie wants to keep the wedding small and secret. She originally wanted up to $2 million for the photo rights, but she’s now believed to have struck a deal with a weekly magazine.”

The ‘Jesus, Take The Wheel’ hitmaker, who got engaged to the sportsman last December, has reportedly told guests to go to an airport in a southern city in the US, where they will then be taken to the top secret site by private jet or limousine.

Carrie recently revealed she was too tied up with work commitments to put too much thought into organizing her impending wedding.

She said, “There’s a lot going on. They are still in the season. They actually only have a few more season games left. I’m touring until the end of June, and have a few shows in July, so we’re working on it here and there. We have a few things coming along.”

Sting Can’t Escape “Pretentious Prat” Tag

Sting knows some people think he is a “pretentious prat”.

Although the former Police frontman knows he can be annoying he won’t change because he doesn’t care what people think of him.

He told The Daily Telegraph newspaper, “For some people I am a pretentious prat. But they’re not people who actually know me. I don’t feel like defending myself that much so I’d rather say, ‘That’s fine, believe what you want to believe,’ I live my life.”

Sting, real name Gordon Sumner, is adamant is doesn’t the need the acceptance of others to be happy, despite having a career based on people liking his music.

He said, “I don’t need everyone to love me. I really don’t.”

Sting, who is married to actress-and-producer Trudie Styler, has come under fire in the past for his alternative beliefs.

The 58-year-old star has frequently spoken out about his love of Tantric sex, yoga and his advocacy of environmental causes.

He says of his campaigning, “People don’t want to hear it. I’m doing it because I have a stake in it, and because it works.”

And he is convinced his strong beliefs have most likely hindered rather than helped him, saying, “Has it helped my career? I sincerely doubt it.”

Ozzy Osbourne Found Retiring “Boring”

Ozzy Osbourne found retirement “boring”.

The heavy metal legend, who is currently on his ‘Ozzfest’ world tour – doesn’t think he will stop rocking until the day he dies.

Speaking to Germany’s FHM magazine, Ozzy, 61, said, “I tried that (retiring) and it was absolutely boring. You can’t go and say, ‘I’m retired now. That’s it!’

“It won’t take long and you’re really gone for good and someone throws the last shovel of dirt on a coffin with your name on it. That’s the moment you’re really retiring – when you die.”

However, the former Black Sabbath frontman – who is married to TV personality Sharon Osbourne – admits his current tour will be his last, as he no longer wants to be on the road for long periods of time.

He explained, “This is going to be my last tour. I don’t want to be on the road for this long anymore. I have to stay in one place for a while, that’s why we’re taking a few breaks in between.”

Susan Boyle’s Surprise Cyclist Visit

Susan Boyle had a surprise visitor yesterday July 8, when a fan turned up at her home after cycling from France.

Maurice Magnat, who is a huge fan of the ‘Wild Horses’ singer, was desperate to meet his idol in the flesh, so took to his bicycle and pedaled his way over to her house in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland in the hope of catching a glimpse of Susan.

A source said, “Despite his mammoth trip, Maurice was all smiles when he eventually got off his bike outside Susan’s house. He happily posed for photos as he whipped out a map to highlight the several hundred miles he’d pedaled to get there.”

Shortly after his arrival, Maurice seemingly had his dream come true when the 49-year-old star popped outside to collect a brand new, 50 inch plasma TV from delivery men.

Sporting a bright orange jumper and neckerchief, Susan danced for the crowds whilst trying to spell out different letters with her arms.

The singer, who rose to fame after coming second in ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ last year, has entertained her neighbors several times this week.

Just days ago she took to the pavement in front of her home to show off her new T-shirt, which featured a quirky cartoon of a heron eating a frog, above the caption “Don’t EVER give up.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Cooks Up Love For Dad

Gwyneth Paltrow’s late father was “the love of her life”.

The ‘Iron Man’ actress, whose father Bruce Paltrow died in 2002 from pneumonia after battling throat cancer, has launched her own cookbook, titled ‘My Father’s Daughter’, in memory of her beloved dad because she feels close to him when she is creating new dishes.

She said, “I always feel closest to my father, who was the love of my life until his death in 2002, when I am in the kitchen. I can still hear him over my shoulder, heckling me, telling me to be careful with my knife, moaning with pleasure over a bite of something in only the way a Jew from Long Island can, his shoulders doing most of the talking. I will never forget how concentrated he looked in the kitchen. It was as if the deliciousness of the food would convey the love he felt in direct proportion.

“Health food was never really on the agenda, it was about fun and deliciousness and togetherness..The most striking aspect about his cooking was how much joy he derived from feeding people that he loved. I mean, genuine, bursting happiness.”

The 37-year-old star, who has six-year-old daughter Apple, and son Moses, four, with her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, hopes to spread word of her father’s “ethos” through the book, and recommends everyone enjoys an alcoholic beverage when they cook.

She added to America’s Vogue magazine, “This book is meant to channel the ethos of my father by sharing the greatest gifts that he imparted to me. Invest in what’s real. Clean as you go. Drink while you cook. Make it fun. It doesn’t have to be complicated. It will be what it will be.”

Drew Barrymore’s “Extraordinary Life”

Drew Barrymore’s “unique” childhood has set her up for an “extraordinary life”.

The 35-year-old actress, who rose to fame aged six when she starred in ‘E.T.’, and battled drink and drug problems from age 11, admits her youth was a very “trying” time, but it isn’t something she would ever change.

She told America’s Elle magazine, “I was raised in unique and trying environments, but they were also amazing platforms for me to have an extraordinary life. Going through hell as a kid made me sensitive to what others in this world go through too.”

Drew completed her first stint in rehab aged 13, and tried to kill herself a year later. She had a notoriously difficult relationship with her mother Ildiko Jaid, resulting in her choosing not to live with her when she left rehab for the second time aged 14. The pair became legally emancipated in 1991.

The pretty actress, who has been divorced twice over the years, is currently single, but admits she is in no rush to find the right man.

She explained, “If you’re 35 and single and it’s a choice, it feels fine. So I didn’t settle with the wrong person yet. Big deal!”

Drew also claims she hasn’t considered plastic surgery, because she has no worries about growing older and is just thankful to be alive.

She explained, “I don’t want to be vain or fearful, and I don’t think I’ll do anything in terms of plastic surgery, but if I want to do something, I will. From my perspective, there’s no reason to be afraid of aging, because if you age, you’re lucky! The alternative is death.”
