Nick Cannon Looking For Party Sponsors

Nick Cannon wants sponsors to pay out $25,000 for his birthday parties.

The ‘America’s Got Talent’ host, who is married to Mariah Carey, has sent out a mass email asking corporate sponsors to pay for his 30th birthday bashes in New York and Los Angeles next month.

Boasting that confirmed guests include Beyonce Knowles and her husband Jay-Z, Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher, Will Smith and Jamie Foxx, the actor has promised any companies who assist with the celebrations, which are to be hosted by his wife, will receive tweets and exclusive photographs in recognition of their donation.

The email, sent by the star’s representatives and obtained by the New York Post newspaper said, “This is an extremely exciting opportunity to sponsor a fun and lavish event… opportunities range from gift bags and signage to tweets and photo ops.”

In return for a $2,500 donation, sponsors will feature in the gift bag, while a more generous $15,000 will guarantee “one tweet”, plus a “mention in all public relations materials”.

Additionally, those prepared to fork out the full $25,000 will earn the donator the official title of “host sponsor”, which includes “three tweets”, a “right to service out photos” and a “logo on all collateral”.

The couple are well-known for their love of lavish parties.

To celebrate his wife’s 39th birthday, Nick whisked Mariah – who is worth an estimated $400 million – off to the Caribbean island of Barbados for an exclusive celebration.

Michael Bolton has been eliminated from ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

The ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’ singer and his professional partner Chelsie Hightower were voted off by the public last night, September 28, after coming bottom of the judges’ scoreboard with a poor 12 out of 30.

After hearing the result, Michael took a swipe at judge Bruno Tonioli, who described his routine as “the worst jive I’ve ever seen”.

He said, “Last night, Bruno was inappropriate and disrespectful. Other than that, it was a phenomenal experience.”

During Monday’s, September 27 show, Jennifer Grey topped the leaderboard for the second week running.

The 50-year-old actress, who shot to fame starring alongside Patrick Swayze in 1987 cult film ‘Dirty Dancing,’ and her professional partner Derek Hough soared to the top of the scoresheet with an impressive mark of 24 from the show’s judges, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

After wowing audiences in a daring gold cutaway dress, the star performed an energetic jive to ‘Shake It’ by Metro Station.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told her, “You’re kind of like this sexy, hot energising bionic bunny out there. Your energy never let up.”

Cheryl Cole’s ‘Terrible’ School Days

Cheryl Cole was a “terrible” pupil at school.

The pop star was a feisty teenager and her temper got her into trouble with several teachers.

Cheryl, who attended Walker Comprehensive School near her Newcastle home, said, “I was awful. They used to throw me out of class.”

The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer, whose second solo album ‘Messy Little Raindrops’ is out next month, also revealed she was initially put off a career in showbiz because she didn’t think she was posh enough.

Cheryl didn’t feel as though she fitted in after she attended auditions for the Royal Ballet School’s two-week summer course when she was nine years old.

The 27-year-old star, who was only able to attend the dance course after a local newspaper raised the $475 she needed to get to the London auditions said, “I wanted to go home straight away.

“Everyone was prim and proper and I was from a council estate. Their parents all had money and we struggled just to get the money to travel down to London. I felt I was the odd one out.

“I didn’t want to have to stand a certain way all my life and only eat salad.”

But despite her worries Cheryl, who along with her four siblings was raised by her mother Joan and her painter-and-decorator father Gary, knew she was destined to perform.

Cheryl , who hit the big time after appearing on UK TV talent show ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ in 2002 and becoming part of the chart-topping band Girls Aloud – added in her new book ‘Through My Eyes’: “Ever since I was a kid I’ve loved performing, being on stage, singing, dancing and showing off. There was just always something inside me, like, I knew there was no other option.”

Director Arthur Penn dies at 88

Arthur Penn, director of the film Bonnie and Clyde and credited with sparking a massive trend in the tone and presentation of movies in that era, has died of congestive heart failure at his home in Manhattan, his son Matthew confirms.

Penn began his career in theater after being discharged from the Army in 1943, and directed his first feature film, The Left-Handed Gun, in 1958. He directed several films into the 60s, but Bonnie and Clyde was considered by far to be his most influential work. Of the film’s impact, The Onion‘s A.V. Club waxes:

It’s impossible to overstate the influence of Bonnie And Clyde. Borrowing from the French New Wave, Beatty and Penn made a film that bucked Hollywood convention and found and expressed the growing unrest of the 1960s via a tale of Depression-era gangsters finding love on the run. It’s a film of tremendous frankness in its depiction of sex and violence, but also of disarming innocence, and it opened up new possibilities for a school of directors eager to color outside the lines.

Penn remained working until the early part of this decade, in film and later theater and television, including the Law and Order franchise.

Lindsay Lohan Back in Rehab

Lindsay Lohan has gone back to rehab.

The troubled star, who spent just 23 days of a court-ordered 90-day rehab stint at the UCLA Medical Center last month, voluntarily began a substance abuse programme at a facility in Southern California on Monday night, September 27, and reportedly plans to stay there until her next court hearing on October 22.

After failing two drugs tests last week, the ‘Machete’ actress returned to prison on Friday, September 24, but ended up spending just a matter of hours behind bars after posting $300,000 bail.

However, the 24-year-old star – who spent just 13 days of a 90-day jail term behind bars in July – could be faced with prison after her next court appearance for violating the terms of her probation for a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction.

According to gossip website RadarOnline.com, Lindsay spent her final few hours of freedom before returning to rehab reading self-help book ‘The Power of Rest’ by Dr. Matthew Edlund.

An insider revealed, “Lindsay hopes to use this book to help restructure her sleeping patterns so she can function better. She has been shooting films into the wee hours of the morning since she was 11 or 12 years old and then sleeping in trailers while on the set. She never established a normal sleeping pattern.

“She was recommended the book by both a doctor and a friend and hopes it will guide her in the right direction.”

Inevitable: Amy Fisher now ‘full time porn star’

Amy Fisher, who rose to international infamy in the early 1990s for shooting her married lover’s wife in the face on the couple’s doorstep, has transitioned from unwitting sex tape ‘star’ to actual full time porn star, the attempted murderess admits.

Once dubbed the “Long Island Lolita,” (and sporting an accent that even made my twelve-year-old self embarrassed to say I was from Long Island) Fisher vowed to Maury Povich back when her first tape hit that porn wouldn’t become a habit:

“I’m not going to be a porn star,” Fisher pledged to Maury in 2007 after a private sex tape with husband Lou Bellera — who leaked the tape — sold a Paris Hilton-esque 200,000 copies.

On tomorrow’s show, she apologizes for going back on her word.

Hubby Bellera, who also appears on the show, says he has no problem his wife’s new career. “I’m better than him,” Bellera bragged of Fisher’s co-star.

Fisher inked a deal during the summer to make at least eight blue movies. In a press release from a porn company, she gushed about the impact of making porn on her life:

“I am very proud and excited about this film, and the work DreamZone Entertainment accomplished to make my journey to Los Angeles one of the most amazing trips of my life,” Fisher said.

Fisher continued:

“All of the locations were beautiful, and our time in Venice was more fun than you could imagine,” Fisher said. “Evan Stone, he is one funny man, but also an incredible lover.”

On Maury, she also disclosed that she still keeps in touch with her former boyfriend Joey Buttafuoco, and that he’s doing well and “staying out of the spotlight.”

Hilary Duff’s Long Distance Marriage

Hilary Duff is adjusting to a long distance marriage.

Although she loves married life, the 23-year-old singer-and-actress, who married Canadian ice hockey player Mike Comrie in August after dating for three years, finds it hard to be away from her new spouse who has gone off to play for his team the Pittsburgh Penguins, while she is living in Los Angeles for work.

Hilary said, “Now he’s gone and I’m like, ‘No, you left me too soon! What’s happening?’ That kind of sucks. But we’re used to that long distance thing and we’re going to figure it out. It means a lot of travelling for me this year, but that’s OK.”

Despite her pining heart, Hilary is still on cloud nine after tying the knot with Mike, 30.

She added to TV show ‘Access Hollywood’, “It’s so amazing, exciting and strange at the same time. There are still no words for it. It’s just different.”

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star also revealed she can’t wait to start a family with Mike but at the moment their careers are their main priority.

She explained, “Obviously we’re really excited to have kids in the future, but not anytime soon. I still want to work and still feel really driven.”

Shia LaBeouf Admits “Dropping the Ball” on Indiana Jones 4

Shia LaBeouf has blasted his film ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ for “dropping the ball”.

The actor felt the film, the fourth installment in the adventures of the titular archaeologist, directed by Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg and also starring Harrison Ford, didn’t live up to the legacy of the previous movies.

Despite the film’s huge box office success, it took over $790 million, Shia was worried his current project ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’, the sequel to ‘Wall Street’, could suffer the same critical mauling.

He told The Sun newspaper, “I had already been involved in a movie where I felt we had dropped the ball on a legacy, and I was part of it.

“And then you jump into a situation with heavier hitters, just a stronger legacy. You drop the ball twice and it’s over for you.

“In ‘Indiana Jones…’ I felt sort of pigeon-holed. I didn’t have enough meat to chew on, and I was put there for reasons.

“It was like we were trying to enforce innocence on an audience that was not willing. You cannot enforce this.”

Shia is fast becoming one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors, but he is determined not to get complacent in his film choices and performances like some other stars.

He added, “I am not where I want to be at. And I hope I will never go to the (Robert) De Niro stage where I’ve gotten there and I am comfortable. Because that’s the death of an actor.”
