Paris Hilton may owe $160,000 after her film flopped.

The socialite, who was sued by producers for failing to adequately promote 2006 comedy ‘National Lampoon’s Pledge This!’ – was told she was not at fault for the movie’s commercial failure, but has now been warned she may have to pay damages to the project’s investors.

U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno ruled in Miami, Florida on Thursday, September 2, that the 29-year-old star breached her contract when she refused interviews with publications in Russia and the United Kingdom.

The judge said that the heiress could be liable for a payout to producers Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc. after valuing the lost promotional opportunities at around $160,000, though he will not finalize the amount until seeing further information on the terms of her contract.

The investors initially wanted $8.3 million.

In his original ruling in August 2009, the judge stated that although Paris was not at fault for the flop as the movie was “hardly destined for critical acclaim”, she could have to return a portion of the $1 million fee she was paid for starring in the film.

It had been reported that Paris, who played a college sorority president in the film, became disillusioned and distanced herself from the movie when extra scenes of nudity were added.

This is the latest legal problem for Paris, who is facing up to four years in prison after she was charged with possession of a controlled substance following her arrest in Las Vegas last Friday, August 27.

Katy Perry wants to be a British citizen.

The US singer, who is engaged to English comic Russell Brand, is planning to apply for dual citizenship as soon as she ties the knot because she feels so close to her fiance’s home nation.

She said, “When I get married next month, one of the first things I’ll do is apply for dual citizenship.

“I’m not too sure if I have to take a test as I’ve not had time to look into it. But England is like my second home.”

Although 25-year-old Katy says she loves the UK, she also has another reason for becoming a citizen.

She joked to UK TV talk show host Alan Carr, “I can just pass through Customs real quick. You’ve already kind of adopted me so maybe I don’t have to go through all the paperwork?”

Meanwhile it has been revealed that Katy is so close to Russell’s mother Barbara that she has started to call her Mum.

A source close to the singer said, “Katy has become close to Russell’s mum. She adores Barbara. They’re in constant contact and speak on the phone most days.

“Barbara has introduced her to the UK way of life, hoping Katy won’t feel homesick when she’s over here.

“They try and see each other as much as possible when they’re in the same country. Katy joked that she calls her own mother Mom and Russell’s mother Mum.”

Katy also buys Barbara presents from around the world while she’s working.

The source explained to the Daily Star newspaper, “Sometimes they’re fridge magnets or a tacky souvenir but on Katy’s latest trip to Paris she brought her a very nice saucy night dress.”

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly hired Britney Spears’ former manager.

However, despite the troubled actress telling friends she’s ready to return to work, her new manager has put her on “lockdown” until she is ready to return to the spotlight.

An insider explained to the New York Post newspaper, “She’s telling everyone she is more than ready for work and people should hire her now. She’s on lockdown.”

Lindsay, who spent 22 days of a 90-day court-ordered stint in rehab and completed just 13 days of her 90-day jail term last month, recently admitted the way she used to idolize other celebrities, such as Britney, was “really scary and sad”.

She said, “So many people around me would say they cared for the wrong reasons. A lot of people were pulling from me, taking from me and not giving. I had a lot of people that were there for me for, you know, the party.

“I would look up to those girls … the Britneys and whatever. And I would be like, I want to be like that.”

Jennifer Aniston is reportedly dating Lindsay Lohan’s ex-boyfriend.

Cheryl Cole is to divorce Ashley Cole today, September 3.

The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer, who split from the soccer player in February after reports he had been unfaithful with numerous women, is to begin the first stage of the legal separation in London’s High Court at 10am this morning, for the declaration of their decree nisi.

District Judge Christopher Simmonds is expected to grant the court order in a short hearing, and their four-year marriage will officially be over when the decree absolute is granted in six weeks.

The estranged couple asked the court to keep their names off the legal documents, and their case has been listed as “CAC v AC”, for Cheryl Ann Cole and Ashley Cole.

The 27-year-old pop star is not expected to attend court as she is currently taking time out in America, where she is recuperating after falling ill with malaria.

A source told The Sun newspaper, “Cheryl is in the States but is watching things very closely. She is relieved and pleased things have progressed significantly since her illness. She just wants to move on with her life and getting the divorce done will end a very painful chapter.

“It must not be forgotten Cheryl did not ask for this – the last thing she expected was to be a divorcee at 27. But once she accepted there was no way the marriage could work without the trust destroyed by her husband, the pill was a slightly less bitter one to swallow. She and Ashley have no need to stay in touch and all housing and assets will be handled by their legal representatives.”

Cheryl has previously told pals she didn’t want anything from Ashley, but the couple are reportedly planning to split their assets equally, while the brunette beauty will have custody of their two dougs, Buster and Coco.

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer’s former tour manager, David Ciemny, claims she would binge on junk food such as cakes and sweets, then not eat for weeks to fit into her costumes, once losing 20lbs between fittings for one of her outfits.

Describing her condition, David says in Maureen Callahan‘s new book ‘Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga’, “When I say she was sick, I mean physically and mentally.”

Talent scout Wendy Starland added, “The pressure on her to lose weight was very high.”

Also in the book, David’s wife Angela claims she used to accompany Gaga on tour alongside her husband, and the ‘Paparazzi’ singer would cuddle up to her in bed before performances.

She said, “I would say, ‘Gaga, I have a husband to go home to. I’ll be in the room next door.’

“She’d call and text me, ‘I miss you, Ange, can you come back?’ So I would.

“We literally would do our make-up together every morning and get ready for bed together at night.”

Despite six hospital stints last year, the 24-year-old star’s health problems have continued into 2010, with her being forced to cancel four US shows in January suffering from an irregular heartbeat, brought on by exhaustion. She also broke down in New Zealand in March and has recently tested “borderline positive” for Lupus, a tissue disease which killed her aunt.

However, a friend of 34-year-old Reese – who married Ryan in 1999, divorcing seven years later – recently advised she is not ready to fully commit to the relationship until she is sure things will last.

They said, “Reese got married too young the first time, and she never wants to go through another divorce again. She wants to take things very slowly.”

The ‘California Gurls’ hitmaker, who is engaged to British comedian Russell Brand, has admitted can’t resist taking pillows from the places she stays all over the world, and once went on a stealing spree in Japan.

She explained, “I do steal pillows from every single place I stay. It’s like ‘Princess and the Pea’ and I’m just laying on a bunch of pillows in a big room.

“When I was 17, I went to a really fancy hotel in Japan and stole everything. I was saying to the chambermaid, ‘More lotions please, more fancy chocolates please/’ ”

The brunette beauty has been traveling across the globe to promote her second studio album ‘Teenage Dream’ and revealed life on the road makes her feel as if she’s “growing another head”.

She added to BBC Radio One, “In the past four weeks alone I’ve been to Los Angeles, Malaysia, Singapore, London, Paris … I’m thankful to even be alive today. I feel like I’m growing another head somewhere – my body is definitely reacting to all the travelling. I’ve been zig-zagging all over the world.

“My family are always asking me for my air miles, at least I never run out!”
