Roberts, Eastwood and More Lead Oscar Snubs

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Of course Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep are in the list, so are George Clooney and Jeff Bridges. But others weren’t as lucky. Diane Kruger, Marion Cotillard, Julia Roberts, and Clint Eastwood are just some of those who got an Oscar snub.

The nominees for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced Tuesday, with James Cameron’s “Avatar” and Kathryn Bigelow’s “The Hurt Locker” leading the nods list.

Although the Best Picture category has been expanded to include 10 films instead of just 5, “Star Trek” and “Invictus” were probably still not good enough to be included.

“Invictus” earned stars Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon mentions for best actor and best supporting actor respectively, but Eastwood was left out of the best director category.

“Nine” stars Cotillard, and Daniel-Day Lewis also weren’t called. Penelope Cruz was the only actress from the bunch of stars in the film nominated for an Oscar.

Some of those snubbed from the prestigious list include “The Hangover,” “(500) Days of Summer,” “It’s Complicated,” and actors Roberts, Rosamund Pike (“An Education”), Tobey Maguire (“Brothers”), and Jeremy Renner (“The Hurt Locker”).
